As musch as i love aquatic dinosaurs, i dont think its a sustaining idea. what would keep a sea creature captive, if all fences are down and the dinosaurs roam free? a sea creature escaping could swim all over the world, the same with flying dinosaurs. dont missunderstand me, i loved them i JP3, but if would have written a JP film i would not include aquatic and flying dinosaurs.
i think they should include all the dinosaurs from the first film and leave out spinosaurus and all the other new ones.
i do agree that they should make them into realistic animals instead of just movie monsters.
if they return to the first island there could be some interesting development.
there was only one Trex in the first one, how long is the lifespan of such a creature for example? maby now its old and slow, less agressive?
a lot of things to take in consideration.

I don't think I would add any dinosaurs IF the movie takes place on Site B. We have had two films located there with a bunch of new additions and a major continuity issue because of species appearing in 3 and not 2. IF the film is back on Isla Nublar, new Dinosaurs will work because the audience did not see the entire tour like the cast, but there were also a lot of hints at other species that we did not see. So for continuity sake, it works.
As much as I love the original cast, I would really rather not see them in this film. I cannot think of anyway the writers could get Grant, Malcom (movie Malcom), or Sattler back onto those Islands. If they did the movie would be rather sub-par.
I like the concept of BioSyn leading a small sortie party to the original Island to see if/what they can find to try and capitalize on the fall of inGen (which no doubt happened after the events of JP2). This would allow for a small cast, allowing for a stronger audience connection. It would also help create a sense of isolation and fear as they are utterly alone on the island.
A big thing I would love to see, and probably won't get, is making the dinosaurs animals again. In JP2 (more so) and JP3, the carnivores were nothing more than movie monsters. In JP1 there was an animalistic curiosity to the carnivores that added to the believability of the dinos as real animals. With the sequels, they were simply there to kill off the cast.
I would also like to see the writers address some of the issues created through their animal design, most notably the raptors. In the book there is this great conversation and ideology involving Dr.Wu about the animals being manipulated into what inGen wanted/figured their consumers wanted to see. This would help attone for the over sized nature of the raptors, the complete difference in the species as a whole across the franchise, and also help reinforce the original concept of genetic manipulation and its faults. Many of the Dinos in the book were version 2 or 3, with Dr.Wu wanting to push for version 4 to help slow the animals down because they acted "too real and fast". This concept would also work well with the above BioSyn plot line, and could take place in an office as they read left behind notes/ledgers.
Another neat idea for existing on the original idea is one from the comics, where a south american drug lord takes up residence on the island.

Great proposition Chris, like you said, I never saw another movie or TV serie with so much realistic dinosaurs, I mean look at the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptors, Dilophosaurus and Triceratops they made in 1993 at a real scale, even in 2013 other movie makers cannot do better. This is why I hope they keep the first dinosaurs from the original Jurassic Park, but also bring new species so we can see what they would really be like in real life, not like the documentaries dinosaurs who doesn't look awesome. I'm pretty sure if they somehow recreate a T. Rex one day, it will look exacly like the one in Jurassic Park. Same thing for the other species, except that some would have feathers, but I prefer them without, like the Raptors.

Hey Xmorency13, great thread! Let me have a go at this..
1-Tyrannosaurus Rex, Giganotosaurus and perhaps Allosaurus
2-Styrakosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Torosaurus and Stegosaurus
3-YES - Leopluradon
4-Sam Niell, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Joseph Mazello, Arianna Richards to start, then I'd probably want to add Idris Elba and joseph gordon-levitt
5-Either as a prequel to JP3, showing what happened on that island, or explore Site C which exists in the Jurassic Park novels.
6-Absolutely. Jurassic Park had great effects, but knowing you're looking at a "real" Dinosaur is the bread and butter for me. Definitely a healthy balance of CGI and Animatronics are a must.
7-Hard to say. I love the original premise of the original Jurassic Park. I'll have to think on that one more...
My opinions may change however down the road, so I'll be sure to come back to this thread periodically to update. ;)

I think it would be a great movie with the ideas you just write. Here is what I would do:
1) Give the Tyrannosaurus Rex his King title on Isla Sorna. Bring back the The Lost World Velociraptors (even if we know they had feathers, the look is just awesome they could say inGEN modified their DNA), Allosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Baryonyx, and maybe a Dilophosaurus scene.
2)Bring back Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus.
3)A Mosasaurus, Plesiosaurus, Megalodon and for air the Pterodactylus and Pteranodon.
4)Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sir Richard Attenborough(If he is still able to make movie at 89 years old), Joseph Mazello, Arianna Richards, Julianne Moore, Vince Vaughn.
5)The original islands, most of the movie may be on Isla Sorna, but I also liked to see a T. Rex in San Diego, so maybe another dinosaur rampage in a city.
6) Like you said, definitely!
7) For the principal characters, they will need a really good excuse to go back on the islands. The older Lex and Tim could have been force by inGEN mercenaries to get back to the island and Grant, Malcom, Satler, Harding, and Van Owen decide to help John Hammond getting his grand children back. The Jurassic Park IV crew will probably find a way to create a great story and find a good reason to bring back our favorite characters to the island.

Which*
1) Have to have a T-rex and some raptors.
2) Iguanodon
3) Both, but aquatic if I had to choose.
4) Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Joseph Mazello, and Arianna Richards should return! No overly-seen actors/actresses....... !!!!!! Charlize Theron!!!!!!!!!
5) The original islands.
6) Definitely.
7) Something good.

I agree. I would prefer to see the Dinosaurs as they were in the previous Jurassic Park films. Though, this idea could be interesting as a main plot focus, moving away from the "theme park ride" feel to a more serious "covert operations" feel.
Could be interesting if done properly. Or could fail horribly. Haha It really would depend.

if it actually did have feathers.... you'll notice large birds like emu's and ostrich arent the fanciest feathered birds.
i figured if the t rex did have feathers it would look similar to those large flightless birds and not have very ornamental feathers or coloring. or more like a vulture or a condor.
personally id love to see smaller dinos like different types of raptors look more like "birds of paradise". who knows what silly feathers and mating dances some of them could have had.

I would like to see this as well. Spinosaurus may be more powerful and larger, but the T-Rex and Cracharadontosaurus are more intimidating looking.
In Michael Crichton's "The Lost World", the humans encounter a chameleon like predator dinosaur known as Carnotaurus. In the novel the T-Rex would not enter where this dinosaur fed and the humans did not find out why until later. I believe that this dinosaur could also make a formidable opponent.

I like the pacing and character build-up. It has potential.
Replytrekgeek1Jurassic World ForumWhat I think JP 4 should be Dec 23, 2012
Here's my take:
After the events of the third movie:
The opening scene is a dark control room with heavily armed soldiers moving tactically through the building after having been dropped by helicopters. The light from their gun mounted flashlights dimly paints the room and it immediately becomes apparent that it is the control room from the first film. A subtitle appears. "One week after 'The Incident'". The men grab hard drives from the supercomputers and laboratory equipment from the nearby lab. All remaining genetic samples, papers, and everything that makes JP possible is removed.
Jumping ahead to present day:
we see an Ingen boardroom, once again describing the economic horror that Jurassic Park has been on the company. Ingen, a diverse company specializing in genetics and biology has other departments and endeavors which are actually quite successful and the only thing keeping the company in the black. Ingen has decided to sell Jurassic Park and wash their hands of it. They don't care what the buyer wants to do with it or why. The company who is interested in the park is Biosyn, the original competing company for which Dodgson works. At this point in time, Dodgson is now CEO after snaking his way up the corporate ladder.
We see a scene where Hammond is briefing an annoyed Ian Malcolm about what they've found in the years since the first film. Modern computers have broken the encryption used by Nedry in his communications with Dodgson, recovered from the material collected at the beginning of the film. It is now clear that the sabotage of the park was not the doing of one man. Hammond explains that one of the most lucrative products for Ingen has been a genetic stabilizer (made up term) which they named agent X (not intended to be the actual name- temporary). This agent was first created to make cloning dinos possible but has since proven to be the bread winner of Ingen in many other medical markets. Once the agent has been used and the animal has been matured, any effect or evidence of agent x's existence is gone, having served its purpose. Hammond explains that the agent is however, very noticeable and resilient while in test tubes, waiting for the cloning process to begin. Hammond explains that when the soldiers collected the remaining materials and evidence, they noticed one thing. Hammond hands a photo to Malcom of the missing DNA viles in the cold storage room. "A jeep was also missing from the garage", Hammond says. Hammond explains that Nedry must have stolen them, and taken a jeep to the dock. He explains that the dock would have been the only way off the island at that time. He also mentions the dock and ship have their own surveillance system which shows no jeep or Nedry arriving that night. Hammond concludes that Nedry must have been killed somewhere between the visitors center and the dock.
Malcom sees no point in knowing this until Hammond explains that even though the DNA in those viles is long since degraded, the traces of agent x are more resilient and certainly in tact. The sale of the island to Biosyn will result in the eventual discovery of the jeep, the deceased Nedry, and in his posession, agent x. This will result in Biosyn having the secret to the most valuable product in Ingen's possession, and the possible ruin of all non-JP departments in Ingen, nullifying the entire point of the sale of JP related items - the preservation of JP as a whole. Hammond states that the sale has already gone through, Biosyn owns the island and a small group of individuals must sneak onto the island, navigate the overgrown and by now undetectable trail, locate the jeep and agent x, and return it to Ingen without getting caught. Dodgson is a cruel man and any trespassers will most likely not be handed over to police, but dealt with quietly and brutally by Biosyn island security. Biosyn has not placed anyone on the island yet, but helicopters are surveying the animal populations and mapping nesting sites using thermal imaging... making island exploration very difficult even at night. Malcom cannot imagine who would want such a task.
We see a college campus with Tim grown up and a genetic researcher with a love of dinosaurs, having overcome the horrific experience as a child and realizing the rare and amazing opportunity he had. He talks with his girlfriend, a biologist and aggressive conversationalist. She picks up an empty can on the ground and being obviously disgusted by the littering, places it into her purse. Tim asks "what are you going to do with it? Carry it around all day until you see a recycle can?" She replies "Yes".
(we have scenes collecting members for the team. I have not thought of who or what their backgrounds are. They join Tim, his girlfriend, possibly Malcom and whoever seems right. No Dr. Grant - there's no way he'd go again and it would be too much of a stretch. I love Sam Neil, but it would just make the whole premise ridiculous. This may be the case for Malcom too, in which case the Hammond/Malcom dialogue will be changed to Hammond and somebody else.)
The group takes a small, fast speedboat to the island. It is the type smugglers use to evade coast guard frigates. It is fast, stealthy and can get the group to the island without detection. They land near the dock, though rough sea's have smashed the boat into the rocks and it is unable to be used for the return home. Their two way radios are not powerful enough to call the mainland. They reason that they must get to the visitor center and hope some type of equipment was left that can be used to contact the mainland. This will be a risk because the transmission will be heard by anyone on that frequency and that includes island security helicopters. They have no choice. They begin their journey along what was once a maintained trail, deeper into the island and toward the visitor center and hopefully the jeep.
(On the island we have encounters with security (which detected their broadcast and begins a hunt for them), close calls with dinosaurs and other exciting moments. I have not got these details yet, my plot serves as a vehicle to start the action with what I believe is a plausible mission to JP)
After locating the jeep, they search the area. They find only a bone and a pair of eyeglasses in the jeep. They cannot find anything that seems to have DNA in it. Suddenly, Tim's girlfriend see's light reflect off metal embedded in the ground. She approaches and works a Barbasol can from the Earth. "Garbage" she says. "Can you believe it? Even on this island, way out here, garbage". She places it into her pack. She turns to TIm and smiles "Yes, until I find a recycling container". He shakes his head and walks off. Upset that they cannot find the DNA viles with agent x, but reasonably sure Biosyn personell will have no better luck, they decide the mystery of the viles will remain unsolved and make their way back to the boat they used to arrive.
(They encounter one last run in with security and barely escape to their boat as their encounter with security is interrupted by a pair of Rexes, protecting their territory which has been badly intruded upon by both parties - again, details figured out later)
They reach the boat and head back to San Diego. They exit the boat and lament at their failure. Tim's girlfriend pulls out the Barbasol can and states that it wasn't a complete failure, at least they got to clean up the island. She throws the can away into a nearby recycle bin, succeeding in their mission, as nobody will every realize it is no ordinary can and it will be destroyed with many others.
The final scene is two Biosyn employees, walking through the control room with flashlights, commenting on how a lot of the equipment is missing. They do note that while some memory banks, drives, and other storage media is gone, some computers have been left - probably due to the size and weight restrictions as well as the retrieval crew's need for a speedy escape to avoid any dino interaction. One of the men throws a breaker switch, hoping to get the lights on (JP is geothermally powered so it still functions). There is no light and he comments that it didn't work. Just then, the other man hears a beep, looks over at an old CRT monitor which has a small amount of text at the bottom of the screen, "...Ready".
(hopefully this last scene isn't too far fetched, but I think the possibility of Biosyn trying the whole JP thing and the mirror of the scene where they try to get JP running again by switching it off, then on is kinda eerie.)
If anyone thinks this sounds like it has the makings of a great movie, let me know. I also have one alternate plot that gets Dr. Grant and any other original characters on the island plausibly and has a high action plot.

Space Cat,
I think that the idea of having a fish based Dinosaur is ok but I don't know how u would integrate it into the movie. There in my opinion isn't a way. If they woulda shown a waterbased dino in the previous 3 then I could see how they could build up to it in 4. Much the same way they did with the ending in 2 where the had the birds, and the bird cage in 3. That I think is where it should be built up. If they did make a water based dino how would they contain it? Those were the biggest animals to ever roam, swim, walk, or fly on the planet. If Jurassic Park had a dino-fish then when the park was destroyed it woulda gotten out. I just don't see how you would/could go about integrating a fish based dinosaur into the movie.

Regardless of what other dinosaurs are put into the movie. The poster child, the one the whole world recognizes, and the one that everyone know by name is the T-Rex. Honeslty I felt insulted in #3 when the Spino killed the T-Rex. That's like killing your biggest attraction, or trading your best player. I've never ever in my life heard of the Spinosaurus Egypticus. Until #3 and it will never be a symbol like the T-Rex or the Raptors. That's the same way. If they remove the T-Rex and the Raptors. You will be looking and a disaster waiting to happen. Those 2 names are know around the world. You must have them in the movie. There is no other direction to go. That's proven in the first 3 movies. They had the raptors in all 3 and took the T-Rex out of #3 and that was the biggest disappointment I think in the entire franchise.
