Intelligence isn't always based on brain size. While a possum or something has a brain twice as large as a house cat's they're only about half as smart. I wouldn't say T-Rex is as smart as a house cat, because cats are some of the smartest animals alive today. You never know though... Great job on the fight!

Nedry saying to the Dilo "I'm gonna run you over when I come back down." Man, that was funny. Also when Udesky (if that's how you spell his name) saying to Billy "If we split up, I'm going with you guys." while Paul and Amanda fight in the background.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumNew Meat-EatersJul 1, 2013
I'm sure they could. These predators were in the same class as Rugops, Deltadromeus, and other mid-sized and large carnivores. Carcharodontosaurus and Spinosaurus were the super-predators of Africa.
ReplyNoisyboyDinosaurs ForumT-rex/Spinosaurus confrontJul 1, 2013
I think while T-Rex had very powerful jaws, that doesn't mean he could kill the Spino in one quick bite. The Spino was big enough to be able to defend himself. However, I don't think they would fight. They would just respect each other if they passed by. But if one entered the other's territory, the could fight. It's a really even match, and while I like the Spino just a tiny bit better than Rex, it's hard for me to decide.

While Grant and Malcom may not have to go to the island, they still should make an appearance.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumNew Meat-EatersJul 1, 2013
There would be no competition, carcharadontosaurus and Spino could kill them for lunch if they wanted to.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumNew Meat-EatersJul 1, 2013
Probably. They were only about half their size though, so probably did not compete with them. The largest prey these predators took on was probably Ouranosaurus. Unless they were pack hunters.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumNew Meat-EatersJul 1, 2013
Sounds like they would have to live with Spino and carcharadontosaurus.

If you mean when i said "Vs Spino, Sucho is dead" i meant Spino. Sucho wouldn't stand a chance against Spino. As Rex Fan said, Sucho probably wouldn't even be able to pull Rex into the water.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumSpinosaurus vs AegyptosaurusJul 1, 2013
T-rex was about as smart as a house cat and Velociraptors were probably as smart as wolves. Allosaurus, you're average large theropod, was probably as smart as a croc.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumSpinosaurus vs AegyptosaurusJul 1, 2013
So it's possible that they got dumber with evolution? I guess they traded brains for size. Dinosaurs weren't that bright in general. T-Rex, probably the smartest of the large carnivores, was no smarter than a house cat..
ReplyDeltadromeusJurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?Jul 1, 2013
You said Spino, did you mean Sucho?
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumSpinosaurus vs AegyptosaurusJul 1, 2013
Your insulting some of the earliest animals, I think some of them were smarter than sauropods. Maybe Anomalacarus.
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?Jul 1, 2013
I doubt Sucho would be strong enough to pull a Rex in the water. The highest estimates put Sucho at 5 tons, I think it was about 3.5 tons. Even if it did weigh 5, a fully grown Rex is almost twice that weight at 8-10 tons. I don't think they could beat a Rex. Put up a fight of course, but probably could not win.

Suchomimus- 33-36 ft long and 3.5 tons

Tyrannosaurus- 43-50 ft long, 8-10 tons

Figures, the only thing dumber than a sauropod, is the sauropods ancestors.

What you do is find a picture you like, highlight it or whatever you do, hit copy, go to the URL thing on this site where you post a picture, hit paste, and you're good. If a freakishly long thing appears when you hit Ok, it won't work.
I typed something like Jurassic Park Nedry Poster.

You got that right. They operated almost purely on instinct.
ReplyLord VaderJurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?Jul 1, 2013
Depends on the depth of the water too though. Knee-deep would eliminate Rex from charging, but the terrain doesn't change anything if you get too close and end up in Rex's jaws. Vs Spino, Sucho is dead.

Prosauropods aren't smarter then sauropods, grass might just be as smart as a sauropod.
ReplyDeltadromeusJurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?Jul 1, 2013
They're big carnivores, big carnivores are territorial, plus the spinosaurs
aren't to bright. Even if they do work together, their only weapon is their long hand claws, the bite would be rather useless on something like a T. rex, plus, suchomimis is very light, em swimmers dead on dry land, but they will put up a good fight. If they drag T. rex into the water, the landlubber is dead, if their fighting Spino, their dead. Water, dead, land, dead.

About everything is smarter than a sauropod.
ReplyLord VaderJurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?Jul 1, 2013
True. Maybe they would see that they are the same kind and try to work together.
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic Park ForumJurassic Park InaccuraciesJul 1, 2013
Spinosaurus seems to be able to swat, not twist. That's one reason why it would have been a good fisher. Able to smack a large fish out of the water, kind of like a big grizzly. Side to side motion, not twisting as far as I can tell.

It has Spielberg involved in it, so it would probably still be good. I have yet to see a Spielberg movie that disappoints me.

Exept maybe Suchomimis vs T. rex or Spino or Giga. Suchomimis would pobably fight eachother more than the enemy _____.

It's hard to say. It was certainly smarter than the sauropod it was fighting.

So it is established Nedry is a funny guy. Imagine his return to JP 4
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic Park ForumJurassic Park Funny MomentsJul 1, 2013
I get what you mean. That was pretty good. After Nedry said nobody cares, he went and said, "Nice hat, what are you trying to do? Look like a secret agent?" Something like that anyways.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumSpinosaurus vs AegyptosaurusJul 1, 2013
All stories need some, as you put it, creative addition. I think I commonly underestimate or overestimate something's abilities, but, Spino could actually be that smart, we don't know.
ReplyLord VaderJurassic Park ForumJurassic Park Funny MomentsJul 1, 2013
I forgot the exact words. Then he said "See? Nobody cares." His reaction when Dodgson showed him the can was funny too.
The scene in TLW where the compsognathus was standing there, and the one guy asked why it was standing there, and the other guy said it had no reason to be scarred, then the first guy shocked it said "now it has a reason too".
I forget things, so I might not quote word for word.

I did the protective thing and plan making as a bit of a creative addition. Kind of like the poisonous Dilos. I keep it as accurate as possible, but I do need to throw some things like that in there to make it interesting. Glad you like the fight and the teaser.

Good fight. I don't think that sauropods would be protective of their nests though.
Good teaser for the next one.
