Rex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhat caused the Super Predators to vanish by the late Cretaceous (excepting T. R
I think it should be of, What caused the super predators in the South to vanish by the L. Cretaceous? In the North, the previous super predators, the allosaurian dinosaurs, were displaced by the tyrannosaurs. When a tyrannosaur moved into the area, it ultimately out-competed every other large predator in the area and became the super predator. The South is a different story. The big tyrannosaurs never reached here. The large predators of the South never seemed to have had one group be the major super predators. It was a constant struggle. Primarily between the allosaurs, spinosaurs, and abelisaurs. For some reason I can't explain, by the L. Cretaceous, the spinosaurs and allosaurs of the south went extinct. Perhaps the abelisaurs survived because, unlike the spinosaurs and the allosaurs, they never achieved super predator status. Either way, with the extinction of the spinosaurs and allosaurs, the door was open for the abelisaurs to take over. The North is easy enough to understand. The ceratosaurs were the super predators, followed by the allosaurs, and finally the tyrannosaurs. The tyrannosaurs were the unrivaled rulers of the North, that's a fact. The South on the other hand, is not so easy. There was never really any progression. It's a mystery that may never be fully understood. t rex would probably sound like it does in JP... maybe a bit different....

It's certainly possible. It's like I say as far as Tyrannosaurus' size goes. Most say it maxed out at 43 ft long and 7 tons. Me, I go higher, about 50 ft long and 10 tons. I've said it over and over, and I'll say it again. It's all theories, estimations, and speculations.

Seems interesting. I have heard that they tried to reconstruct the sounds of dinosaurs before, primarily Para. Very cool. I would love to know what a Tyrannosaurus sounds like, haha

A very climatic end. I assume that the Utahraptor died in the end being that you said he went to sleep for the last time. Bitter sweet. Well done. Maybe next time you can add names. I can help you think of a few if you wish. Overall, well done.

I believe the sound is legit, I just think the airflow is a little slow

it sounds good, and i believe in it, but still i think they would've made i bit more of a barking or cawing sort of noise (its hard to describe through text) thanks for the info

Like I said, not a croc expert, but I thought the crocs could get to around fifty feet.

Great story, even you could put names to the characters (such as red dragon for example :p)

Good fight, and definitely these guys are like allosaurs with steroids. On the other hand, and probably off topic, sometimes I wonder how it could be a T.Rex vs. Sauropod battle ..because the bones of these herbivores seems thick and strong and teeth from the T.Rex don´t look so sharp as to cut meat easily.

DeltadromeusJurassic Park ForumRaptor Proposal
Remember, the Isla nublar raptors came from site b, ingen wouldn't want the raptors to look different, they wouldn't bring them to the park, and therefore waste money. Ingen wouldn't do that, they would make one batch, and duplicate it to make the same looking raptors.

There are a handful, but my fav. one, is in JP1. The T-Rex, after the power is off.... how is it he can be level with the fence, and yet when he pushed the car over.... it was a 20+ drop!!! :)

Speeding up an individuals lifecycle doesn't speed up the relative rate of mutation. Ingen would want these animals under control - in other words they would want few to no mutations between generations. If anything the mutation rate between generations would be slowed down. It doesn't matter how short the creatures lifespan is. 23 generations is simply not enough to create such marked physical changes. These had to be three separate populations of raptors. Which implies three sts of DNA - which makes sense and explains the varying appearances.

Rex fan, not criticizing, but the Utahraptor proved he was the best, and when you do that, people normally follow you. Utahraptor had an early, dormant pact hunting part of the brain, Utahraptor most likely just never used it. Or at least I think they did.

How do they know they an extra proses isn't used by parasaurolophus, making it sound different. Where did you find this information.

Even though Giga is heavy, it has very powerful legs, and could probably still jump fairly well. It was a good fight, when I saw there was only two gigas, I changed from giant to gianter.

The jumping was one of my creative additions. As for the pair of giganotosaurs, I wanted to do something a little different than the usual massive gang. Like my first fight, I wanted this one to be an example of how the herbivore can win too. Glad you liked it.

A couple questions. First, could Giganotosaurus jump? They were much more heavily built than Allosaurus and, thus, may not have been able to jump. Second, isn't only two vs Argentinosaurus a mismatch? A think that their normal pack hunts would include at least five members. However, as always, I enjoyed the fight and look forward to the next! :)

Possibly. If they did, it would be more like an unorganized mob, rather than a cooperative pack. That's just my opinion though and like I said, every story needs a little added creativity.

I don't know about that length. Not being rude or anything, but Sarcosuchus was about 40-43 ft and weighed about 7-8 tons.

When you're fighting a sauropod, and there is already a large number of Utahraptor nearby, and they see that there are more, they could team up to kill a sauropod.

DeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumSobek The Giant Crocodile
Slightly heavier then Dinosuchus, but too short to be Saurcosuchus, at that whieght, it would be a 45-50 foot Saurcosuchus, but I'm no croc expert. Dienosuchus is an allogator.

Pretty good. He lost another important thing in his life I see. A mob of 20 Utharaptors seems unlikely, but like my Spinosaurus vs Aegyptosaurus fight, you need to add some additional creativity here and there. Not bad.

DanlophosaurusJurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?
For the sake of t-Rex, in book 1 it swam after led, Tim and Dr.grant. This idea was used in JP III when the group were on a riverboat and got attacked from a Spino who swam up stream and got to the boat. Dragging a Trex into water is pointless unless he is injured, giving predators the smell of blood

Dr. Johnathan StoneJurassic World ForumJurassic Park 4 (Jurassic World) Plot Synopsis
The dinosaurs adapt to aquatic terrain. They escape both Islas, reach Florida, and begin to conquer North America, east to west. But the jurassic reptiles turn out to have been developing unstable DNA, which would cause all of those who have any contact (being breathed on, scratched on, or even bit) with dinosaurs to develop dinosaur-like characteristics, features, and minds, ending up in a dinosaur/human hybrid, caused by DNA fusion (particles in breath, cells from claws/skin, saliva that soaked into the human system). Or they could expand on John Sayles' concept and relate it to a bigger plot. Either way, Mr. Stemcell 'Dinosawr' Missinglink has to explain it.

It all depends on who you ask. I have Shan as 5-7 tons on my site. That's what I think. You guys can think it was 18 tons and that's alright. It's your own theories and estimations.

I agree with the Shantungasaurus winning. It was freakin huge. The largest non-sauropod dinosaur. It had a very deep and heavy build that could have allowed it to topple and crush the Tarbosaurus, not to mention its very thick and heavy tail it could have used.

Sounds interesting. Based on those size estimates, it's slightly larger than Deinosuchus and about as big as Sarcosuchus.

I think that would be cool. It's kind of like the last straw. The last thing he had, his sister, is taken away from him by the same beast that took his father and ultimately sent his family into oblivion.
