Sobek The Giant Crocodile

In this week's edition of the forgotten giants, I bring you what is perhaps the largest land crocodile ever to live. It doesn't have a name yet as it was only recently unearthed, but the nickname I heard for it is "Sobek" after the Egyptian river god. It is known from a partial skull and shoulder bone that apparently suggests it could run on land better than in could swim in water. Most people that examined it said it was too incomplete and may have been a Deinosuchus. It was approximately 38 feet long and 8 tons. I'm not sure. I remember reading about it somewhere though.

Sounds interesting. Based on those size estimates, it's slightly larger than Deinosuchus and about as big as Sarcosuchus.

Slightly heavier then Dinosuchus, but too short to be Saurcosuchus, at that whieght, it would be a 45-50 foot Saurcosuchus, but I'm no croc expert. Dienosuchus is an allogator.

I don't know about that length. Not being rude or anything, but Sarcosuchus was about 40-43 ft and weighed about 7-8 tons.

Like I said, not a croc expert, but I thought the crocs could get to around fifty feet.

It's certainly possible. It's like I say as far as Tyrannosaurus' size goes. Most say it maxed out at 43 ft long and 7 tons. Me, I go higher, about 50 ft long and 10 tons. I've said it over and over, and I'll say it again. It's all theories, estimations, and speculations.
