Plus, in the previous situation a script was in the works, but they hadn't assembled the director and crew and stuff. The project is going to happen!! Trevorow, Marshal, and Universal have all made statements that it is still in the works. They have filmed in Louisiana, they're filming now in Hawaii. There's just going to be a new release date, which, by the way, everyone was hoping for. JP4 will be a better film for it.

Spielberg is not going to take the helm because he does not believe in the project. He did not believe in Jurassic Park III, therefore he did not take the helm. He remained involved because he was not going to let somebody ruin it altogether, But his name was not going to appear on the marquee. The unfortunate reality is, any attempt to continue Jurassic Park is a risk. Which is why Spielberg is not directing Jurassic Park four. That isn't to say that it shouldn't be made, and I think Spielberg believes that someone should make it. I think Spielberg is a clever man, who doesn't take chances he doesn't believe in. The plain fact is he doesn't want to direct Jurassic Park four in case it sucks.... But does want his name associated with it in case it is awesome, so that he can take some credit.

If it were dead...they would say it was dead. They would not perpetuate the story by contradicting it otherwise. What is there to gain by not telling the truth?

There is ZERO logic as to why a nearly identical predator such a Giganotosaurus or Charcharodontosaurus would ever replace the iconic Tyrannosaurus in a Jurassic Park film. Spinosaurus was understandable, as it was larger and physically different enough to create visual distinction. Even a dinosaur nut would have a difficult time differentiating tyrannosaurus from Giganotosaurus or Charcharodontosaurus. An average person would have absolutely no clue. Therefore the entire idea of another large super predator being introduced is purely absurd. Even the Spinosaurus has little to no chance of returning due to the extreme hatred that he generated from most fans. The Tyrannosaurus will return as the primary large super predator in Jurassic Park four. End of discussion.

But things are proceeding to get worse and worse Just yesterday I was searching for some news on jurassic park 4 but all I found was Amani fan sites for jurassic park 4 saying that the film has been cancelled now I know better then to listen to that because they're superstitious Internet people But with things in the dark this is mostly all that we can assume about jurassic park 4 Many films have been shut down due to production problems, internal problems, script problems, casting problems, and much much more But with jurassic park 4 on "hold" the problems can either grow worse or be fixed Also with Spielberg disapproving of the script what does this mean for the one Collins editing???? Let's just keep our hopes up until we hear the tragic news or something good

OP's plot idea is so bad it would actually make JP3 seem reasonable, and not the idiotic pile of crap that it is. How can you possibly think it is even remotely a good idea that A) the script writers produce the EXACT SAME STORY they are already running through the new Apes series, or B) That Jurassic Park be basterdized by an Apocalyptic scenario movie? The DINOSAURS are not the bad guys. They never have been. Unbelievable.

Well last time jp4 was spouse to come out they were at the script editing part and hadn't started on anything else From my thoughts judging by no production shots or tweets that the mechanics are in the works We're at the same place We were over 4 years ago... I'd really hate to say it but jurassic park 4 may be on the brink of extinction (BAM best pun yet on this site) but we should try and be optimistic until we hear from Collin Spielberg or frank about this It would be a ginormous finachel loss to cancel it now jurassic park is universals most sucseeful franchise also by now I'd imagine they were working in the mechanics fr the dinoscgi models and clay models for the animatronics ( ia may be a month or so off) if they cancelled it, all that goes down the drain and none of these items are cheap

They definitely need a new hook or point of interest for the next JP film. I think its being ramped up due to well known classics(Star Trek,Star Wars) being brought back to life with a vengeance.Disneys gonna want to retrieve the 4 billion dollar bill from Georges universe...and they probably will,so the next JP has to be super good.

Jurassic Park has that specific essence that makes it unique These games just don't have the modern feeling Jurassic Park has.. I'd love to have Far Cry type Jurassic Park Game with overgrown Buildings/ laboratories, Jungles, Fences, Etc. Maybe a Map Editor too, for that JP:OG feeling

J.J. wouldve been a great choice, but as you said, hes an extremely busy man. I have no idea how he has so many projects at the same time and keeps announcing new ones O.o Who knows if eventually he'll get a shot at a JP movie

I know this is very sad but I have to agree with all of you guys because it has been going on for several years know on and off on and off. I would love to see JP4 but I'm afraid of it not coming out, and if it did would it be as good as the first two? (I exclude the 3rd film)

Firstly, since it's based on land I think it's safe to assume it won't be a marine predator, though I'd love to see a movie featuring Lipleurodon; I know it's not a dinosaur, but it'd be terrifying! Secondly, I don't think it'll be a small dinosaur, they will probably add new smaller dinosaurs, but this mysterious "Terrifying" dinosaur will be big, probably a large therapod dinosaur, something huge that rivals Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus (which may well make a return in JP-IV). Spinosaurus, although larger that Tyrannosaurus, was a fish eater and doesn't have the large jaws capable of rending a few tons of flesh in a single bite, I think the new dinosaur will be similar to Tyrannosaurus in this regard. So a very large therapod dinosaur that rivals Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus? Two dinosaurs immediately come to mind; Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus. Either of those or perhaps even something I haven't heard of would be amazing! It's also worth noting that Carcharodontosaurus featured in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, though I don't think the games will have any influence on the movie. Those are just my predictions anyway. I honestly can't wait to find out. Keep posting those suggestions, I'm very interested to hear what you guys think!

i know this is the darkest thought of jp fans but if things keep up like this... we may never see jp 4 hit the theaters it wont be the first time something like this has happened. but as chris said it would be a total waste to can it this far in development. but its never to late for everything...

i think the fourth shouldn't be a prequel (id really like a prequel though) with ti set to spawn off like 3 more movies why not make the next 2 (including jp4) aftermath and the final one a prequel????

i also believe the teaser for jp /// was pretty... meh, you should do a teaser for jp4 (Well based on recent news) keep up the good work...

Jurassic Park:The Game covered a good enough story for the barbasol can thing, a prequel could still could have potential because they never opened the park, there were problems and they wanted people to come in and sign off on it. They could quite easily make a movie about people escaping and surviving site B when hurricane Carissa wiped it out and ingen left it until JP@ came a long.

I sincerely hope they don't take the ol' prequel approach. I'd much rather hear about what happens next than back when Jurassic Park was just kicking off. There's MUCH more potential for a heart-stopping and thrilling story-line. Plus, a prequel wouldn't fit because if there had been a terrible chaotic situation with the dinosaurs pre-JP, why would Hammond, Wu, and co have still opened the park?? There's much more hope in a sequel, and I'd prefer no apocolyptic situations if they can be avoided.

I really hope they bring the t-rex back in JP4. I'm still a lil irked about the JP3 one getting its butt kicked by the spino. Which is funny cause the spino doesnt eat other dinosaurs, it eats fish. Its actually been proven that they do. -_-;

Gotta love the enthusiasm for the King in here. Can't wait for the movie. I as well hope that T-Rex gets some revenge on Spino in JP4. Been waiting 13 years for this and I'm not going to be disappointed. and yes Spino did have size on his side but T-Rex had at least a Ton and a half to 2 tons on Spino as well as being built like a heavy weight made to fight and Kill heavily armored and Lethally armed Herbivores such as Triceratops and Ankylosaurus which were built like tanks, and to kill something built like a tank you need to be built like a tank as well.

I used Photoshop, Im also working on a custom teaser for JP III cause the teaser they did back in 2000 was too, meh. LOL So I'll do that and maybe also come up with a new JP4 poster. If you have any ideas im open for them too! haha

I dont know why people think the Barbasol can can play a role in JP4, the coolant has only enough for 36 hours, hence why Nedry tries to rush to the dock. It cant be used for a new plot in any logical way. Mutations are way over the top. My take for JP4 and Isla Nublar should either involve Biosyn not knowing about Site B and going to Nublar looking to exploit any remaining tech or something, or an idea Ive seen around of a prehistoric disease that has been revived with the dinosaurs and the need to go back to the Park to try to cure it or something. No rescue mission please. Way too cliche and overdone. Another possibility is having some parts of the South American continent being populated by certain dinosaurs. Having news cast about appearances of dead dinos in Costa Rica or Panama and for some part of the movie have some military expedition to nvestigate both Isla Sorna and Isla Nublar on how they are reaching the mainland. Thats my take. :)

so im just guessing here but if speilburg didn't like it... it will either be really horrible or it might be worth seeing i know almost every plot steven aproves of is really good also mosasaurs wasnt in the book it was planned for phase 2 but never talked about, also these theories remind me a bit of my plot i did a while back about them surviving the bombing in the magma chambers of the island... and then they become nocturnal hell spawns

@Jonathan23, I dunno if the mosasaurs is in the novel but the exhibit is, but if you play the Telltale game you also meet a nocturnal dino that has a venomous bite, you could youtube gameplay/cutscences and see it all, the exhibit is built in an artificial lake/lagoon like in jaws 3 and it is connected to the ocean by a small cave so it is something they could do, with site B too 'cause ingen was making a lot more dinos there than they put in the actual park

@That's so Raven- That substantiates it even more then. I really should get around to reading the novel, but I think introducing an aquatic dinosaur could really make this very interesting. The only possible way it could have survived is by gaining access to a lake, which may now be connected to a river following long periods of storms around nublar which presents the risk of them escaping into the world's oceans and possible causing serious havoc. Sounds like a plausible reason as to why Grant/Malcolm would head back. And like i said before- Mosasaurs are pretty damn scary!

Hmm, is it only me who feel that Jurassic Park movies can't be over sci-fi and apocalypse style? Of course, I still wanna know the history and science material which related to the park and dino. But I just can't imagine while dinosaurs has taken over the world like most of the zombie movies, while dinosaurs are just animals but no virus to spread, it's kinda easy to become a war + monster movie = Godzilla. Don't get me wrong, I do like Godzilla, but I just hope Jurassic Park to stay on its route, I am more into running in the park, in the facility buildings, and dinosaurs are hunting them. On the other side, I do hope JP4 to gets epic, but I don't want it to be related much to military, gun fights, just sound bad to me. By the way, appreciate the good writing here! =D

^ Actually in both Jurassic Park:The game and in the original novel there is an aquatic exhibit with a mosasauras in it.

Well here's an interesting idea I've come up with- we've seen our land dinos, and pterodactyls but we've neither seen nor heard anything yet about aquatic dinosaurs. What if the scientists at Isla Nublar were working on breeding some prehistoric aquatic monsters like the Mosasauras or Elamosauras. I've always found them terrifying. They could have been bred at an under water facility (this may sound slightly extreme) connected somehow to a river/lake which in turn possibly connects to the ocean and are somehow close to breaking out due to the weathered nature of the forgotten facility. It's not perfect but it's a premise they could work on and no one can deny that the aquatic dinos are terrifying
