It adds to their character. With it's 6 inch teeth, Ceratosaurus is probably the deadliest. Those teeth are some of the largest compared to body size as far as the large theropods go.

The ceratosaurs are kind of odd, but super cool.

Great fight. I like Majungatholus/Majungasaurus, but I love Ceratosaurus. Ceratosaurus is so underrated. Great fight!
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumThe CeratosaursJun 7, 2013
I agree with both of you. Ceratosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs. The family as a whole are very underrated. They were all terrifying predators even if they don't get as big as say, Allosaurus or Acrocanthosaurus.

We know there are a like a million other discussions just like this, but does this one have any arguing over which is better? You got a point how they were apex predators in their time and are adapted for their environment.

what a great discussion! but i swear there is like a million of these all through this site! lol
My view is always with T Rex!
this is just due to his beast of a skull that is like a crash helmet in dinosaur terms, and just through being the most evolved and being smartest! so who ever he would fight or not fight, he would prob know how to survive the best for using his brain.
Weoponry in terms of claws n use of arms he is pretty naff! but cant have everything.
When attacking prey they were all apex predators in their time within their environments. When u have prey that isnt armour plated , you dont need bone crushing jaws. If u live in a swampy watery environment having long arms, the ability to swim with a long body ull succeed hense y spino was so perfect for his environment.
its like comparing who would win out of a polar bear , grizzly bear, and a lion or a tiger.
also i dont think any of the big predators would take on a sauropod unless they were in a pack or if it was a jouvenile , it wopuld be far to dangerous for them.
it makes sense if u look at animals today how often do u see a pride of lions take on a giraffe or elephant ??? dont happen! they klnow where their breads buttered!!
just something to think about :)

Just a quick tip you could have included carnotaurus with its cameleon capabilities .

Great job I love how you included ceratosaurus in this awesome fight once again you blew us away DinoFights!

Nice. I like how Majungasaurus held on till his last breath.
ReplypaynasaurJurassic World ForumHow to make T.Rex more scarier in Jurassic Park 4??Jun 7, 2013
Get rid of that visual movement cr*p, make it charge like a bull when it sees something it wants, being an hunter that lives in packs and ambushes its prey, you've got yourself a creature you don’t want to mess with! :)

Ceratosaurs rock! My favorite is Dilophosaurus!

Hey Spinosaurus Rex! I'm with you that Spinosaurus was bigger. Although if the two were to fight each other, based off of Rexes build, I feel like Tyrannosaurus Rex would win, but that's just based off of the skull of Tyrannosaurus. Spinosaurus had a slightly frailer jaw. I think that over a long term period though, Spino would die, because Tyrannosaurus Rexe's bite was filled with bacteria. I'm not a Rex or Spino fan, so I stand rather neutral on this argument, but even if Rex had scavenged, I feel like it may have a better chance at winning. Thanks for reading Spinosaurus Rex

I think it would end like today's great white vs. killer whale battles. The leviathan was pretty much a cross between a killer whale and a sperm whale. Size of a sperm whale with the jaws of a killer whale.

It was up to 60 feet long with a 10 foot skull that was packed with the largest teeth yet known at over 1 foot long. The massive teeth delivered the greatest bite force of any tetropod. The beast hunted other whales and for a brief time shared a habitat with Megalodon. Might they have engaged in the greatest predator vs. predator match in the entire history of the world? Quite possibly.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMegalodon's RivalsJun 6, 2013
Perhaps an underwater battle of these titans would be a good idea for Jurassic Park 4. The real Jaws vs an oversized killer whale with a really bad attitude, haha.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMegalodon's RivalsJun 6, 2013
Yeah, that's were I got my inspiration for this post. Meg was more agile with it's cartilaginous skeleton, but the whales were faster in a straight run, or swim, in this case.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumMegalodon's RivalsJun 6, 2013
I know. I knew since I saw that one episode of Jurassic Fight Club. That's where I got the escape to deeper waters idea. Another thing that made Megalodon not unrivalled was it was less intelligent, and solitary, while the whales were likely smarter, and hunted in pods.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhy i think Spinosaurus was the biggestJun 6, 2013
Yes, that's the situation with a lot of things in nature.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMegalodon's RivalsJun 6, 2013
Yes, I am just sayin that Megalodon is not the unrivaled ruler of the deep we all thought he was.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumMegalodon's RivalsJun 6, 2013
Megalodon was not only the greatest shark to live, but the greatest fish to live. The whales would likely have speed over Megalodon, but Megalodon was no pushover, and could probably escape to deeper waters where the whales could not follow.

I know what you mean. But if was do or die, then the circumstances would change. Let's just move on.
Confirmed, T-Rex would not attack Ankylosaurus unless it was desperate.
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic World Forum10 Dinosaurs That Should Make a Cameo in Jurassic Park 4Jun 6, 2013
Not a bad selection. I would like to see Ceratosaurus get some more camera time. Austrolavenator would also be cool to see, even if it is in the background.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhy i think Spinosaurus was the biggestJun 6, 2013
T-rex also had Alamosaurus to deal with. An average adult was nearly 70 ft long and 30+ tons. Some bones of Alamosaurus suggest it may have been as big as Paralatitan or even Argentinosaurus. In order to attack an Ankylosaurus, T-rex would have had to have the brains to figure out how to flip it over. T-rex certainly was smart enough. However, it was also smart enough to realize it meant almost certain injury or death to tangle with that prehistoric tank.

I was also thinking that the crew should be the size of the crew from the lost world. Have that many of people with vehicles. And their should be awesome game trails in this film as well!! Did you guys remember how many people where in the lost world capturing dinosaurs? But it could work in a way to have a pretty big group, make it easier for them to focus on just the center characters, and let the other characters be used as chewing toys. And they should definitely bring in some Biosyn vehicles.
And the use of the sonic gun like in the novel. And we should bring those Jurassic Park night vision glasses for night scenes!
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumWhy i think Spinosaurus was the biggestJun 6, 2013
I know, but still, it would if it was hungry enough.
ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumWhy i think Spinosaurus was the biggestJun 6, 2013
I don't think a full grown T-Rex or even a pair of full grown T-Rex would hassle an adult Ankylosaurus unless they were starving and there was no food for miles around. I bet they would even take a Triceratops over an Ankylosaurus. Ankylosaurus was a beast for how dumb it was.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumWhy i think Spinosaurus was the biggestJun 6, 2013
Thanks for calming down some. It could just be a coincidence that the most complete (there have been fragments of others) Spinosaurus found was so big, but maybe that fossil was the only one heavily built enough to survive so long in the desert (just a suggestion). I hope more and better fossils are discovered in the years to come though.
Let's not forget T-Rex had a couple million years of evolution over any of the other large carnivores that you mentioned. So T-Rex could overcome the challenge of facing something larger than itself. And T-Rex also preyed on Triceratops and Ankylosurus, which makes up for the lack of competition.

ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhy i think Spinosaurus was the biggestJun 6, 2013
Yeah, I'm sure they would. Even though we don't agree on everything, I am sure we all agree that Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Spinosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus were all giant predators perfectly adapted to their environments.
