Welcome ladies and gentleman, to my daily DinoFight. I always appreciate my loyal readers, but for those of you who are new, every day I pit two of the most formidable dinosaurs to ever exist against one another in a fight to the death (most of the time). Medium division, round 1, fight 2: Ceratosaurus vs Majungasaurus Ceratosaurus Height: 10 feet Length: 23+ feet Weight: 1.25 tons Speed: 28 mph Diet: Carrion, various herbivores Weapons: Bite, claws Description: Ceratosaurus, although smaller than Allosaurus, was its biggest competition. Many people that compare Allosaurus to a wolf, a sleek, dominant and strategic predator, describe Ceratosaurus as a honey badger: a vicious, leave no chance untaken opportunistic predator. It certainly was built like it. It had a long skull with blade-like teeth and a blade-like horn on its nose. The teeth were some of the largest in dinosaurs proportionate to body size. The crowns were six inches long and serrated, while the T-Rex, over twice its size, had crowns just a few inches longer. They may have been even longer, since all of the Ceratosaurus skeletons known are probably sub-adults. It also had four fingered hands, which could be used to hold on to prey in close quarters. Also in Ceratosaurus' arsenal were long, powerful legs for running. Majungasaurus Height: 10.5 feet Length: 26 feet Weight: 1.5 tons Speed: 23 mph Diet: Other Majungasaurus, various herbivores Description: Built very heavily, like a battering ram, the Majungasaurus was actually pretty similar to Ceratosaurus. Similar size, horn on the head, and vicious behavior. The Majungasaurus had a thick skull with a horn on the top of its skull and a rough textured snout. What sets this deadly dinosaur away from others though is canibalism. Direct evidence shows they attacked and ate dinosaurs of the same size, even of their own species and possibly family. If it was brutal enough to do that, imagine what it could do to another species if it was hungry... FIGHT! A Ceratosaurus walks through the forests of Isla Sorna as dusk falls. He has been looking for a new territory since a very large Allosaurus took his last one. Suddenly he hears a rustling in the bushes. He turns and growls, ill-tempered and vicious. Suddenly a Majungasaurus runs out of the bushes and headbutts him. He falls down in the mud, and roars at the Majungasaurus. The Majungasaurus snaps at the Ceratosaurus' neck, but he manages to squirm out of the way. The Ceratosaurus stands up as the Majungasaurus prepares to charge again. He side steps and the Majungasaurus slams his head into a tree, wobbling back. Ceratosaurus takes advantage, sinking his knife-like teeth into its back. The Majungasaurus shakes him off and spins around, taking a bite out of Ceratosaurus' face. He roars in pain, but refocuses and accidentally stabs Majungasaurus with his nose horn while headbutting him, making him drop the piece of his face he was chewing on. He tries to turn, but Ceratosaurus has his claws sunk in, holding him in place. Instantly, Majungasaurus reacts by running forwards to throw the Ceratosaurus off balance, having been in a similar situation with a hungry dinosaur of his own species as a juvenile. The Ceratosaurus falls but is quick to get up. While he stands, the Majungasaurus whips around and bites his tail, tearing off the tip and gulping it down. The Ceratosaurus roars, turning to face the cannibal, and takes advantage of his tail being bitten off by biting the neck of the Majungasaurus as hard as he can. He's not becoming a meal today. The Ceratosaurus opens his jaws a little so his serrations tear the flesh of the Majungasaurus, which is shaking his head and trying to break out of the death grip by the Ceratosaurus. He yanks hard, managing to break some teeth, then rams the Ceratosaurus, finally breaking free. It's too late. The teeth have already punctured vital arteries and veins. However, the Majungasaurus, determinate, keeps attacking the Ceratosaurus. He clamps his jaws around his neck, holding on until his last breath. The Ceratosaurus, although wounded and tired, survives. He pushes the Majungasaurus off him, standing up and decides this Majungasaurus' hunting grounds will make a nice territory. The place is already marked with Majungasaurus' scent, deterring any Allosaurus or other carnivores from entering. WINNER: CERATOSAURUS Although his wounds have a good chance of becoming infected, the infections won't be fatal. Ceratosaurus was probably just as big as Majungasaurus when full grown, had longer and more effective arms, huge teeth and a bad attitude. It was a pretty close match that I almost had end in a draw, but in the end I decided that a Ceratosaurus could probably take on a Majungasaurus of the same size successfully. Odds: About 52-48 Questions? Comments? Call for a rematch? Let me know.

Great fight. I like Majungatholus/Majungasaurus, but I love Ceratosaurus. Ceratosaurus is so underrated. Great fight!

Probably. I like how Ceratosaurus and Allosaurus still remained natural enemies after more than 100 million years.

I'm hoping Ceratosaurus clashes with Carnotaurus at some point.

Maybe he will. Carnotaurus was like a bigger badder Majungasaurus.

Yeah, but I think Ceratosaurus would be just fine. He beat Majungatholus after all. Sorry, I call it Majungatholus instead of Majungasaurus.
