Agreed. 20 ton spinosaurs? 16 ton Rexes? More like 7-8 ton spinosaurs and 10-11 ton Rexes tops. These guys still had to function....
good fight as always, Primal.
@ jezza, To start with, i like you enjoyed the fight. Every body has their opinions, hell, that's what paleontology is mainly based on! opinions and theories, which brings me to my next thing. S-Rex and FACT DUDE, they're just strong headed. They defend their opinions tooth and nail, and i applaud them for it...they just never gave us their thoughts on Spinos size. YOU did though, and while i disagree with some parts, i respect your statement. As for the" comment if you want: thing, i was in a bitter mood, and writing the fight helped some. The War with S-Rex, Godzillasaurus, and FACT DUDE was who that was mainly directed at, but they have yet to say anything about it. I'm curious to what they have to say..
Whhaaa? a fight by Carnosaur i haven't read yet? well i have one thing to say: just wow. Very descriptive, and you certainly paint a picture!
score one for the Abelisaur! i like that one won for a change, most think Abelisaurs couldn't fight similarly sized theropods
Thanks! @Primal, That's something to look forward to.
The list was Average weights, now the max. Honestly, i think people high ball theropod weights way to often.
@jezza Spinosaurs were light weight animals. Personally, i see them getting to 9 tons MAX. But that's just personal belief.
Good job Acro, list looks pretty good.
Well, i know some paleontologists that think that Rex was the biggest. What do you mean with bone structure? Everything we have of Spinosaurus are some ribs, a couple of neural spines and about 60% of the skull.
Nice fight. I was rooting for Carnotaurus.
A 12 ton T.Rex is actually highly probable. UCMP 118742, which is only known from a part of the skull, was a bit longer than Sue at about 13.5 meters and half a ton heavier which would put it at 10 tons. But UCMP was only 16 years old, which means that he had another 4-6 years of drastic growth and then about 0.6-0.7% of body mass every year after that. So if he would've lived as long as Sue did he would've easily reached 12 tons and could've possibly reached up to 16 tons.
Good list, I agree with most of it.
What happened was the whole pack jumped on his side at high speed.
An entire pack of utahraptors wouldkill a Spino, I would've thought the spino would kill more raptors though. There is one thing I don't get though, how does a Utahraptor headbutt a Spinosaurus and almost knock him down?
I think I agree with RexFan on this one.
All I'm gonna say is that Spino was almost twice that size (in weight). I do think T-rex would win sometimes, 85/15 in favor of Spino.
I get the whole "longer isn't always bigger", but you're the only one I've heard of that says T-rex was biggest. All the paleontologists and scientists say Spino is bigger (11-12 tons), and that's what I believe. Look at the bone structure of a spinosaurus, to me, it was very likely a lot bigger than a T-rex. But then again this a matter of opinions, I'm not insulting your knowledge of dinos, we just different have views.
There is one more thing that I'd like to say though to Carnosaur. Why do you state,"Feel free to comment... negative or otherwise...I really don' t care," if you complain about Team Spino members' posts before they've even said anything yet?
Oh, Mr. Happy, to answer your question,"How much bigger is Spino?," here's your answer.
Spino: 60ft. long, 25-27ft tall (including sail), and 12 tons.
T-rex: 40-42ft long, 16ft tall, and 8 tons.
Difference: 18-20ft longer, about 10ft taller, and 4 more tons.
By the, Carnosaur, even though I'm on team Spino, I like the way you write, it was very disciptive and detailed, and like Alphadino said, the victor was hurt too. And yes, I will say that I am disapointed that Spino lost in this fight. But like you said, it's your fight, so write it like you want.
(p.s. Just 'cause I'm team spino doesn't mean I don't like t-rex too, I just like Spino better)
First off, I'm on Team Spino and I'm not here to "bitch" about Spino's loss.I'm not S-Rex or FACT DUDE, I don't think Rex Fans hate Spino, you just have a favorites. I think we all like different dinos and talking about them, setting up fights, etc. I try to be unbiased in my opinions and stick to the facts that we know, not just random numbers like some people.
Now, there are biased Rex Fans ( not pointing fingers here), but there are biased Spino fans too. Some people just simply pull stuff out of their butts instead of just doing research. Here's an example.
Spinosaurus: 68ft long, 33ft tall, 25 tons
Tyrannosaurus: 60ft long, 22ft tall, 12 tons
They're both wrong.
(P.S. I did read the fight, winner, and comments)
Ha Ha,, that prank was really funny, my favourite one whe Stardust eat al 50 OF the pepto bismal pills. That's hilarios. XD
Sounds interesting. Welcome back Carnosaur.
Nice fight.
Actually UCMP 118742 was estimated at 13.5 meters with the possibility of reaching 16 meters and about 15 tons (+- 2 tons) if it would've grown as old as Sue.
Good Story, i Read That Levine was Being hated by his Parents, for the chapter 5 i will sugest to be kind of more Heroic, well I think That Everybody Will Died, accept Archfiend and Of coure, RAPTOR401. Probably Snake-Eye As Well, but, It will Die Because of the Wound
Spino was probably around 11.5-12 tons max. And as for the whole, "Spino lived strictly in water", idea, I find very, very unlikely.
Spinosaurus was the largest at 13-15 tons, then giga and carchar at just under 9 tons, and then T-rex at 8 tons.
to be blunt, I could tell it was a rex just by looking at it. And then sure enough my boss said it was a T. Rex. from the crest to the teeth and skull shape, it was pretty obvious it was a rex. So yeah, it was, just hasn't been fully described yet..
Carnosaur, I wouldn't mind drawing title pics for your fights either. :)
have you thought of texturing the head? Actually, if you don't mind, i'm looking for some people to draw some cover art for future fights. I will message you the details.
first i've heard of the 6 foot skull! i would say definite game changer... are they completely sure its a Rex?
C. rex actually has now been completely described and it actually had a partial skull found with it. Ucmp is 14 meters, but yeah very interesting! How about UCMP 13758? A 15-16 meter rex found with the back of a skull vertebrae and toe. But the 6 ft skull specimen thats undescribed that my boss (paleontologist) is working on is a game changer. :)
They're pretty good. The shading really makes the teeth pop out.
I was rooting for the T. rex. Lol great fight!
C. Rex and F. Rex are very fragmentary. UCMP 118742 is an interesting animal indeed, being estimated at 13 meters(45 feet) at 16 years old, suggesting at 15 or 16 meter rexes.
good to be back. i like the sound of this something big
