Why I Think Tyrannosaurus Was The Largest

Most of you probably wonder why I believe Tyrannosaurus was the largest. Spino was certainly longer and Giga and Carchar were at least as long, if not longer than Rex. However, Rex seems to be more powerfully built. Therefore, it seems to be heavier. I estimate Spino's max weight was 7 tons, Giga was 8 tons, and Carchar was 6-7 tons. Rex on the other hand seems to be around 9 tons. When scientists say what animal is biggest, they go by weight. Giraffes are taller and longer than elephants, but elephants are heavier and considered bigger. Same goes with dinos. Diplodocus and Brachiosaurus are good examples. No need to start arguing, just explaining my reasoning as to why I think Tyrannosaurus was the largest or at least should be considered a contender more than it is. That is a good point. T-Rex was likely the most heavily built of the large meat-eaters, and it was also the smartest of all the large carnivores (not raptor smart, but smart for a 9 ton wall of muscle).

Jack of all trades. Master of none

I get the whole "longer isn't always bigger", but you're the only one I've heard of that says T-rex was biggest. All the paleontologists and scientists say Spino is bigger (11-12 tons), and that's what I believe. Look at the bone structure of a spinosaurus, to me, it was very likely a lot bigger than a T-rex. But then again this a matter of opinions, I'm not insulting your knowledge of dinos, we just different have views.

Youre fat, and I'm not sugarcoating it cause you'd probably eat that too.

Well, i know some paleontologists that think that Rex was the biggest. What do you mean with bone structure? Everything we have of Spinosaurus are some ribs, a couple of neural spines and about 60% of the skull.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

I actually had a conversation with Phil Currie once and he said that T-rex is possibly, if not probably, the largest land predator. The only two theropods he said might be bigger where Giganotosaurus and Mapusaurus. He made no mention of Spinosaurus. Not lying either. This is all legit.
