Great chapter. I want to see that fight between Terrance and the Giganotosaurus.

My reaction after seeing and thinking about this movie:

Speaking of which, anyone noticed at the end of this movie when Alan Grant said what the Pteranodons were looking for a place to make a nest? This part is very stupid, because they had made a nest in the aviary and abandoned their cubs. It's hard for me to see this movie again.

Instead of picking on the kid, why don't you do something constructive? All insulting someone does is tick people off and make yourself look like an ass.

Not saying that you're right or wrong, but if you are right, it's not going to be too long since I've already had Terrance square off against both and the chapter would be way too long for a major fight.

Great chapter. Just in case you're going to do what I think you're going to do; I'm rooting for Terrance ;)

Gotta love creationist logic.

Guy says; “I don’t believe in evolution. I believe dinosaurs like Spinosaurus and Ouranosaurus lived with man and other contemporary animals.”

Gets corrected by a sane person who informs him that Ouranosaurus and Spinosaurus did not live at the same time, and his response is; “Oh, sorry, my bad. Well, spino probably ate other dinos that size.”

Gold...

You realize that less time separates us from Spinosaurus than that which separates Spinosaurus from other dinosaurs like Stegosaurus, (right?). When corrected on that you accepted it. So how exactly do Zebras and Wildebeests fit into this retarded timeline of yours?

Phantom RaptorJurassic World NewsFirst Concept Art for Jurassic World Reveals Futuristic Visitor Centre!

This concept art looks absolutely horrible!

Why the heck would you even bother setting Jurassic World on Nublar if you're going to just redesign EVERYTHING?! And they're not even good designs. They look like a futuristic mash-up of various architectural designs from around the world (as Ritalapollera clearly points out). I'm no architect, but even I recognized a few of the inspirations.

If you want to go all futuristic, then fine. But do it with SOME of the NEW buildings (like a genetics lab, or Hammonds'/Patels' bungalow, or the visitor Hotel on the island). No one wants to see this glittering white insult replace beloved landmarks like the visitor center...

Some people are pointing out that there’s nothing to officially tie these concept art pieces with the project. I truly hope this is the case...

Phantom RaptorJurassic World NewsJake Johnson Confirms His Involvement in Jurassic World!

I’m thinking Johnson will be playing the part of Ed Regis (in case you haven’t read the novel, Regis was a publicist who worked for InGen. The character was written out of the first movie, though a few of his qualities, like his nervousness and cowardice are given to the film's version of Donald Gennaro. Gennaro's death during the T. Rex attack in the film is also reminiscent of Regis's demise).

This is totally speculation my part, but Johnson seems like a good fit for this role (no offence to the guy!).

He’s not a lead role, we know that much, and he isn’t going to be playing the ‘villain’ (that will be Vincent D’onofrio). It just makes sense that with the park being re-opened and after all the bad publicity InGen has received over the last 22years, hiring a publicist would be a damn good idea on Patels’ part... and it’s pretty common in movies to see certain book characters get fused with other characters, or introduced at different times.

Well as someone who does have connections with professional paleontologists, I can tell you that the average rises a great deal when you consider the fewer known specimens, and the undescribed specimens. The average should be about 43-55 ft in lenght with a max of about 63 ft. WHich is the size of the Reaper. But are you guys picking up what I said about the sequel?

If we include all the abnormally sized specimen which haven't been described yet, then the average would rise by a very big deal. The problem here is that I don't have any connections to professional paleontologists and therefore don't recieve as much information on undescribed specimen.

The average could be moved up if over 1/3 of the specimens are larger. Sue, isn't the largest by far. Many more specimens have been found, they are just awaiting further description. Even my boss, the paleontologist agrees woth my estimates.

But my point is that even if we find x-amount of Rex specimens at 60+ feet length. The average would still be at 35-40 feet. Don't get me wrong, with all the fragmentary specimen and considering how few we have found so far, it's pretty much clear that they could've reached such sizes, probably even larger, but the average ones would've been a good bit smaller.

I haven't read the article in a while so it could be that I'm very wrong, but if I recall correctly the max was at 18-23 tons. Keep in mind that my memory is as good as the bite force of a hamster.

1) there are actually a surplus of not-as-well-known specimens that could move up Rex's size. the weights would fit the animal of that length quite well, too. We have a small population found of Tyrannosaurus, so we most likely havent even found the largest or oldest, and these new specimens suggest that as well.

2) Thank you, you guys!

3) You have picked up on my hint at the end have you? Yes. There will. Let's just say that people aren't the dominant animals anymore. Dinosaurs have taken back what was theirs. ;)

You can't say never. What if the Spinosaurus/Tyrannosaurus stumbles over a rock or a tree trunk and down a cliff or ontop of another random object which then impales it?

The perfect bilateral bite thing. Youre thinking of it as a max. Its really an average of 16-21 tons like the 7-10 ton estimate. But otherwise, I agree with all.

Awesome. Really looking forward to reading more of these, but if I may say something, your sizes are a bit too much (imo). The weight seems about right, but 45-55 feet is quite a stretch, since most adult specimen were at 35-40 feet and the largest (that is not extremely fragmentary) was at 43 feet. Anyway, very entertaining and is there possibly going to be a second installment to your first story?

I think Rex would win in a fair fight. The jaws on that thing were unbelievable.

There was a T.rex specimen with claw marks (from another T.rex) on it's skull, but there is no question that a bite would be more effective in almost every case.

Lord VaderDinosaurs ForumAlbertosaurus vs. Deltadromeus

Bite would certainly be its most powerful all around weapon, while a kick would be its most powerful. Usually though, unless it was on it's back and about to be bitten by something else, it probably wouldn't be able to get a good solid kick in.

Reply
UCMP 118742Dinosaurs ForumAlbertosaurus vs. Deltadromeus

Yeah, probably around there somewhere. Interesting, how the bite of a T.rex wasn't even it's strongest weapon when it comes to brute strength, but a bite would definitely be more accurate than a kick and it would also depend on the situation and opponent if the kick even lands.

Eh, I don't think T_Rex would ever win.

There's a very good chance... But at the end you will be clamed down... it will all make sense soon...
