CarnosaurDinosaurs ForumHow big could T-Rex be?

Excluding the fragmentary giants that so many post about, we have enough specimens to get a potential 'average' for this species, which is quite the contrary with other species.

From the smallest adult(10.5 meters) to the largest based on decent remains(42.5 feet) we have a lot of variety at hand.

A basic average for tyrannosaurus rex would be 11.5 meters, 12 feet tall at the hip 14 at the top of the  head, and 7 tons in weight.

"Sue" being the largest could really change at any moment, and as soon as Celeste - a tyrannosaurus potentially 10% bigger then Sue - is officially described, we may have a higher upper size estimate for the species.

10% bigger then Sue would yield ~ 13.6 meters, and 8/9 tons in weight.

I think T.rex could get bigger, just not In length. Tyrannosaurus usually are more robust than spino and giga. They could get up to eight tons in weight compared to six, seven tons of giga. So I think trex could have gotten bigger in weight

I like Black Beauty and Sue.

(Sue is one of the two tyrannosaurus skeletons I've seen in my life.)

You'll like the denver museam. It's pretty cool. (dinosaurs are on the third floor btw). Also, that's yet another reason I love dinosaur revolution.

Actually super predator, I find you very easy to predict.

As for names, Mako the Carcharodontosaurus. (mako is a type of shark, carcharodontosaurus means shark-tooth reptile)

I'd love to, but the odds of becoming a professional are very low. I'll keep it as a hobby ;)

I guess mine would be AMNH 5027 because it's in the neighborhood. It was planned for an awesome mount, but the I des was scrapped due to the fossil hall not being big enough. Here is a scale model of the planned mount:

To me it would have been beautiful too bad it was too big

That'll be neat.  Are you going in to paleontology after high school?

Cool. I'll also be seeing the Black Hills Institute, Dinosaur National Monument, The Field Museum, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Awesome!  You will love it!  I've seen a lot of Dino collections and, so far, the Field museum has been the best.

It's like a superhero movie. The hero always wins, but people don't seem to care and watch it anyway. Or maybe it's to see what the villian does.

Living in Northern Indiana and being a quick 2.5 hr drive from Chicago, it has to be Sue for me.  She is the most famous T-Rex for a reason!  I always grew up loving Dino's, but I never got to go to the field museum until I was 18 years old (I haven't always lived in Indiana) and ever since, it has been my favorite museum!

I highly recommend going to any Dino fan, I mean, there's 26,000 sq ft of Dinosaurs there!  Sue alone is nearly worth the trip, you can stand there and just stare forever at how amazing a creature T-rex was.

Okay, I'm done haha.  I just had to relive my kiddo days for a second.

I'm hoping you know Utahraptor, and in fact most dromaeosaurs would have a hard time killing something much larger then themselves solo. Well they were quite well equipped, they were substaintially smaller then most other theropod species i believe you're going to put into this series.

That being said, "Utahraptors rampage" gives us a pretty good idea that this thing is going to go around killing everything, making the fights predictable before we even read them.

Black Beauty because it's pretty cool and it's Canadian.

Ohh, that's tough. I don't have any dinosaurs on my "backyard. So i'd say the royal tyrell mount. As that's one of the two I've seen (don't know the name of the other one) and it was just plain scary.
