The Size of Stan

So, many dinosaur fans are familiar with Stan the T.rex. However, there seems to be some contraversy surrounding the size of Stan. Some claim Stan was among the smaller Tyrannosaurus specimens. Others say it was larger(40.1 ft long to be exact). So, I decided to go straight to the source. I contacted Peter Larson of the Black Hills Institute where Stan is housed about the matter. He said that Stan is in fact the second largest specimen we have, next to Sue. He also added that makes them the perfect couple, haha. This means Stan was actually quite large, unlike some sources claim...

This comparison ain't too accurate then...

Stans Skeleton...

Very interesting!

And of course they are a lovely couple! (after all, the T.rex couple in Dinosaur Revolution are based directly on Sue's and Stan's skeletons)

Awesome! I keep trying to find Robert Bakker's emails because I want to ask him about some Epanterias fossils he excavated in 1990

I've also got Dinosaur National Monument in Utah on the list of things to see and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Plus whatever other museums that I might find along the way(many national parks like Yellowstone and Yosemite are on the route and so are many cities. It'll be fun).
