Cool! Btw, sorry for abandoning our debate. My keyboard wasn't working for the reply section. In a little while we can resume if you want!
Hey D-Rex, welcome to the forums! Please don't post this many topics in one day. Try to space them out. I'm as excited as you for the movie, but we don't need to overload the forums. :)
I've actually wondered a lot about this myself, they need something like a free world game and you get to choose which dinosaur to use, whether it be Velociraptor, T-Rex, Spinosaurus, or whatever.
Nor did Predator X eat whales. It was also not the biggest predator ever. Other pliosaurs may have been just as big, as could icthyosaurs, whales, and sharks.
And Dakota, everything else on the site is accurate and such, so I think this one is official. I'm not saying it's realisitic, but it's what they claim. Also, the whole 1/7th role is for pliosaurs, not mosasaurs.
D-REXMANIACFAN3354 - From what I've gathered from various interviews and pieces of information presented to the public, the velociraptors we see in the trailer are in no way, shape or form Owens' "friends". They'd eat him in the blink of an eye if they perceive any form of weakness (momentary or otherwise) in him. That's a good bloody incentive for that bloke to keep up the "tough man" persona! :)
D-REXMANIACFAN3354 - This is a fine point you've brought to light! I doubt a great many people are having the same knee-jerk reaction over this film as some of the more, um, "die hard" science advocates. Of course, they have the right to expound upon their concepts of what should and shouldn't be present; however, I'm of the mind that we should all simply enjoy the film for what it is - a techno thriller designed to excite us movie goers and dinosaur fans! :)
D-REXMANIACFAN3354 - What a very interesting hypothesis! I happen to think it's uncertain as to whether or not Masrani is producing living weapons behind the front of Jurassic World's family oriented facade. The honest conclusion to which I draw when faced with the notion is that it's very likely not the case; such a plot line would likely undermine the validity of the film's primary focuses. Of course, I could very well be wrong in this assumption; there's no evidence as of yet that supports the notion that Masrani isn't dealing in military grade dinosaurs under the table!
This was a very fun notion to consider! Thank you ever so much for presenting this to us! :)
I believe that one sence in the trailer showing Beth (I think that's her name) holding a flar, she could be getting the Rex or something like that, cause in the first film, the Rex seemed curious about it, I could be wrong though.
Perhaps Pratts character is running with the Vraptors away from a predator, which would explain why he is not being treated as a meal.
your right about the abilites but i don't know if it has a secret ability????????????
I dont think it is the D rex, in 2:07 you see what is probably the D rex. The boy is probably inside ,and as we look at the d rex, it seems a bit big to go inside.
And according to the website there are 250 different dinosaurs, so plenty to choose from. I hope is a Dilophosaurus indeed.
Ponysaurus.
Welcome Saurornithoides.
I will say it's D-rex you heard, and here's why. Go to 2:03 where the man is being dragged away by something. Those last few notes that sounds like chuffing/hooting are the same sound effects you here when the boy is cornered at 2:13. That scene where the man is being dragged away is part of the trailer sequence where D-rex is being talked about.
I think the only way for that monster at 2:13 to be some other dinosaur is if the sound effects crew intentionally put in the D.rex's growls because it's the trailer.
Those 'Raptors' won't be trained.
it also seems to have high jumping capabilities considering it jumped up and slashed a 40 foot wall
SILVER_FALCON - I could certainly live with that arrangement! :)
LORD OF THE SPINOSAURS - This is a very neat and comprehensive list you've put together - excellent work! I feel that you've certainly touched on many key aspects that will be present in the D-Rex's physiology, though the DNA contributor I'm most interested in is the cuttlefish. That aspect will lend this animal a very unique anatomy! Thank you ever so much for taking the time to compile and present this to us! :)
BREGO - That was an extremely neat snippet of documentary! Very interesting! Thank you so much for sharing it! :)
SAURORINTHOIDES - Welcome to the site! I had indeed noticed the faint hissing of the animal from which the young man was hiding in the trailer and assumed it to be the D-Rex. However, it's quite possible the animal might be something else - including Dilophosaurus or another theropod such as Baryonyx! That would be very neat!
Once again, wlecome to the site, and thank you very much for sharing this notion with us! :)
Predator X (Pliosaurus Funkei) was not a Mosasaur, it was a Pliosaur.
I think that Predator X was a Mosasaur. Look it up. Largest predator ever found. Ate wales, sharks and other Plesiasaurs. They are all forms of Pliosaur.
45 metric tonnes, 15metres (45feet) long..... Biggest ever.

Good work. I really don't like the idea of DRex. There would be no reason to come up with abominations if you were able to simply recreate the original dinosaurs. I know why they have done it, for drama, and I hope they pull it off. If it's not believable it simply wont work. I suspect that the Mosasaur will probably have something to do with it's downfall.
hi, will have to take a look. Hope its a dilophosaurus.
Hardly Gagadino. Rexy would have been the biggest badest carnivore on the Island, had plenty to eat and no competition. In the wild its survival of the fitest where carnivores compete against each other.
Hi Guys, im new and although my username is Saurornithoides i didnt really liked the guy he just made an impression on me when i was young because of how difficult it was for me to read his name. :D
anyway i guess i dont have a fave dino, i love them all, when i was younger i had a hobby of making dinosaur drawings and sketches using modern living reptiles as reference. :)
and of course, its nice meeting you all. :)
Try to look back at 2:15 , i discovered something there.
I know right? That thing is the perfect size to nom on some diabolus rex!
Actually, I just thought of a solution that makes everyone happy...
So, there are some new dinos in the park, right? And we know that one of these is Deinonychus, right? Well, If I recall correctly, Deinonychus wasn't a species originally on the island. Now, that would mean they, the masrani geneticists, would have to have created them, right?
So, what if they, based off of more recent scientific knowledge filled in the Deinonychus DNA with that of a, say, eagle? This would mean there are the Velociraptors, who have no feathers, and the Deinonychus, who do. This would provide the series purists with what they want and the scientific purists with what they want.
So, who's with me?
T. rex:
Size, strength, bite. Basically what you said.
Velociraptor:
Speed (though its size will inhibit this) and intelligence. I also like the idea of a recrtactible claw.
Snake:
Muscular body, "snake-tongue", and flexibility. I am nearly certain it will have a venemous bite. Unhinging jaws would be cool. One possibility you forgot though, is a rattlesnake's thermal pits, which would give it a "heat vision" of sorts.
Cuttlefish:
Well for one, camouflage. I also like the three hearts idea, and think it'd be awesome if it could hypnotyze its prey.
And from all of these it somehow managed to grow thumbs...
Hi guys, i think i might've discovered how the D-rex sounded like!
Hi Guys,
im new to this site but ive been an avid dino fan since i can remember. :)
Here are my thoughts about D-rex.
1. Pretty much everything stated above, but i do doubt some ideas on the cuttlefish part though. Because the point for D-rex is to show something bigger and scarier than the t-rex, traits passed to it might be external and might only contribute to its outside appearance.
2. Also, if you guys are interested i might know how it sounded like. :)
Im sorry but none of the stats listed on the website are not accurate. First off, that is no where near a 3 million gallon lagoon. Your looking at hundreds of millions if not more. Most small town water towers hold 1 million plus gallons.
Secondly great whites can get up to 20 feet. Being conservative lets say that shark is 10 feet. And, in a rough scale of a Mosasaur, the head is about 1/7 of its total body length. So when looking at the head of the one in the movie vs the shark. we are looking at a 80-140 foot long animal.
Finally when you look at a Blue Whale. Lengths up to 100 feet and weighing up to 160 tons there is no way that Mosasaur weighs 15 tons. More realistically 200-300.
Anyways it still looks amazing. I understand why they made it that big. But seriously whats the point of them creating a D-Rex when they already have something like that in the park. I kinda see that thing eating the D-Rex in the end.
I think the D-Rex is cool as long as they don't go Sy-Fy Nuts with it, but other than that it seems like it's gonna be really cool, I wonder hw the cuttlefish, Camo will work.
