A new dinosaur would be cool. Based on Rex Fan's depiction of it, it would be just as big as Rex, but not as strong a skull. Don't know about the test of it. How would you tell your sister we wish her good luck? Maybe"My Internet friends wish you good luck on the dig."
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumYour Own Dinosaur SeriesJun 17, 2013
Oh, and I feel the carcharodontosaurs and allosaurs are close enough to be classified together.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumDinosaur MuseumsJun 17, 2013
Anytime. The Carnegie Museum has a really cool exhibit called Dinosaurs In Their Time. Really awesome.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumCarcharodontosaurus-Spinosaurus relationshipJun 17, 2013
Not sure if they would hunt together. They may have ignored each other completely. They probably had different diets that way they could avoid conflict. Carchar probably fed on large dinosaurs while Spino hunted fish, small dinosaurs, and fed on carrion. Of course Carchar would have eaten carrion as well. If they did fight, Spino would have used it's claws to swat it's enemy while Carchar would have used it's teeth and the slash and dash method.

This is what I think it will look like...

I'm guessing a size of 46 ft long and 7 or so tons.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumDinosaur PlanetJun 17, 2013
There are a lot. Dinosaur Planet has some awesome graphics and it focuses on dinosaurs that are not very well known to the public(aside from Velociraptor and a cameo appearance by Tyrannosaurs). Once I saw it, I immediately became fascinated with Aucasaurus and Tarascosaurus.
ReplyDinoFightsDinosaurs ForumDinosaur PlanetJun 17, 2013
I haven't seen it yet, but I would like to. So many dinosaur documentaries and series to watch...

I messed up with the first pic. White Tip is on right, Blue Brow is on left.

Tyrannosaurus is still and always will be my favorite. However, if this carnivore is indeed a new species, it may be my favorite South American dinosaur. My current favorite from S. America is probably Aucasaurus. Cool, yet underrated, dinosaur. However, this new beast is quickly gaining my interest.
ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumFossil NewsJun 17, 2013
Still would be cool if it ended up as a new dinosaur, as much as I love Giga. Hope it is so we have something new to talk about until 2015 lol ;)
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumFossil NewsJun 17, 2013
Oh, you did not say that earlier. Makes sense now.
ReplyDinoFightsDinosaurs ForumFossil NewsJun 17, 2013
That's why they think it was a Purussaurus skull. It was in a different sediment layer, much closer to the surface and about 120 feet away from the others bones. It was much closer to the fish and crocodile bones.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumDinosaur MuseumsJun 17, 2013
PS- Added Styracosaurus and Utahraptor to my site ;)

I have been to: The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh Pa, The Museum of Natural History in NYC, The Museum of Natural History in Baltimore, and The Smithsonian in DC. The Royal Tyrrell would be cool to visit. The museum in Denver Colorado would be pretty nice to visit as well.

The terrible tyrant, catchy. I still like Austrotyrannus- southern tyrant,
Tyrannosuchus- tyrant crocodile, but Deinotyrannus is good too, haha. I hope they find a skull, assuming it is a Purussaurus skull. I do want to mention something though, what would a Purussaurus be doing in rock containing dinosaur bones? Purussaurus a little less than 10 million years ago. Long after the dinosaurs died out. Seems to me that the "Purussaurus" skull, may indeed be a dinosaur skull.
ReplyDinoFightsDinosaurs ForumFossil NewsJun 17, 2013
Let me stress that the skull is only thought, not confirmed, to be that of a Purussaurus.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
I think T-Rex is more popular than Spino because for years, T-Rex was accepted as the king. T-Rex was seen as the biggest, meanest, most badass predator of them all. Then in 2001, a new carnivore that hardly anyone has heard of, comes in and kills the king. I don't think Spino was accepted and loved the way T-Rex was because we knew so little about it (and still do). We are still learning about Rex, so Spino will most likely have his time in the spotlight, but may never be as popular as T-Rex just because T-Rex has been, and still is, accepted as king of the dinosaurs.

That episode that the pic is from shows "Mess with my kids, you mess with hell." That is a good point though.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
Yeah, Tyrannosaurus is without a doubt, in my opinion, the strongest predator yet. Many scientists agree with that as well. Peter Larson stated in Jurassic Fight Club that Tyrannosaurus was so strong that there was nothing, NOTHING, that could escape it, if it decided it wanted to eat it.

That is true that swimming would be good for Spino. Did you look at the picture of the T-Rex skull compared to the Giga skull? I made this more focusing on the bone structure of Rex and Spino, not size or lifestyle theories.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
Exactly. When I started the site, I thought that dinosaur contemporaries deserved some attention, but it is a dinosaur site after all ;
ReplySpinosaurus RexDinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
wellll swimming is proven to be the best excersize since your using almost all of your muscles, and having to hold your breath for a long time should increase your stamina quite a bit ;)
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
Like I said, behavior is never goin to be truly understood completely when it comes to dinosaurs. Unless someone get's a time machine, we will never know.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
That is good reasoning, and if it is dinosaurs, you would expect more dinosaurs.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
Thanks, I don't plan on having as many non-dinos as dinos, so I figured I would divide them into environment instead of family.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
We know that Spino would have to fight for it's food at least sometimes. Between the giant sail, the overall size, and maybe the ability to change the sail colour, I think that it would have intimidated it's opponents most of the the time.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
Let's not get into size shall we. I'm starting to think things like this should not be discussed. Understanding how something that has been dead for millions of years is truly impossible.
ReplySpinosaurus RexDinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
uhhh, Spinosaurus did have to fight for its food with something a lot bigger than trex and had a bigger bite force than trex, which was sachosuchus. It also had to fight Charcarodontosaurus, which was also bigger.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
I checked as soon as I read that. Nice touch with the Air-Borne and Aquatic sections.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
I was thinkin of puttin it on my site, but decided against. Decided to use it as my cover pic instead. Glad you like it. A dinosaur and media section would be interesting. I'll look into it. I reorganized the non-dinosaur section and added a new pterosaur.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
You've already told us in multiple discussions, and it is pretty obvious when you give the facts and your beliefs. Nice cover pic too. I thought you said it was going on you're website. You might have to do Dinosaurs and Media section on you're site.

Something tells me your favourite dinosaur is Gigantosaurus Makaveli.
Replyt-rex90Dinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
T-Rex obviously, nothing beats the King and let's face it, when most people think of dinosaurs the first one that comes to their mind is a T-Rex. second that would be a Triceratops, perhaps the most famous armored herbivorous dinosaur second to that of Stegosaurus. An aquatic Attraction would be a Leopluradon for me.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumYour Own Jurassic ParkJun 16, 2013
I think T-Rex and Spino would be the main attraction no matter what (unless there is a Megalodon, and even then).
