A Spinosaur, maybe. Or a Rex. Who knows? The whole park would be a main attraction by itself compared to other theme parks around the world. :D

Nice choices. Interesting dream Makaveli, haha

Giganotosaurus. I had a dream last night where I owned a Jurassic Park and my guests were amazed when I released an old sauropod into the enclosure and let 3 Gigas take it down. Pretty gruesome but cool.

Allosaurus would be the main attraction of my Jurassic Park.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
I'm not gonna get into size, but pound for pound, Tyrannosaurus was stronger. It was also heavier and had more muscle for it's overall size. It's bite force, due to strong neck and jaw muscles, was between 3 and 9 tons per square inch. And it's arms were not useless. They had sharp claws, but more importantly could lift up to 450 pounds. Sure Spinosaurus' arms and claws were far superior, but T-rex's were not useless. Also, horses leg bone are actually very similar to Tyrannosaurus and they can hit 45 miles per hour. Of course T-rex was much larger, so it probably did not go faster than 25 miles per hour, but that's still pretty fast for a 8+ ton animal. Spinosaurus was strong enough to catch it's food, which was not extremely strong i.e. Fish, dinosaurs less than 16 ft or so, and carrion. T-rex was strong enough to catch it's food i.e Dinosaurs of any size, but probably between 16 and 40 ft most of the time. Spino defended himself through intimidation unless his adversary was less than 30 ft give or take. T-rex defended himself by fighting no matter who it was. Tyrannosaurus was stronger and more heavily muscled than Spinosaurus pound for pound.
*Sizes are relative

I know that Spino was probably heavier that T-Rex, but this is more for how they were built.
ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumT-Rex vs Spinosaurus BuildJun 16, 2013
Spino had thick and powerful limbs and a well-built chest for lifting heavy prey (crocodiles and other large aquatic animals), while T-Rex had muscular legs to support its weight and a powerful neck to hold its heavy head. Over all, I think Spino was heavier than Rex by a ton or two just due to its huge size.

I didn't think I did either. I just haven't been feeling that great for a few days. If you check my activity, I haven't posted much over the past few days. I found a T-Rex skull compared to a Gigantosaurus skull.

I think Giga was more built for killing than Spino, so it would have a thicker skull then Spinosaurus, so I included this pic.

The first is not only my favourite JP film, but my favourite film, period. The story, the characters, the dino's, everything just comes together perfectly, not to mention the music is out of this world. Every time I watch it I feel like a little kid again. Having said that, The Lost World for some reason is the most nostalgic of the 3 to me, which is saying something considering the first 2 were directed by the king of nostalgia. I dunno what it is, but when I see that Rex stomping through that backyard, I see my wildest childhood dreams coming true. JP3 was good, suffered from a weaker story and for some reason the CGI isn't as good. Having said that, still a very entertaining film

Well I feel like maybe you aren't going in depth enough. Spinosaurus Aegypticus. It was built, like most fish eating therapods, with very strong limbs. His arms were huge and powerful compered to most therapods. His jaw was long and as a result, probably couldn't bite very hard, but still had many advantages over Tyrannosaurus Rex. It's size for one thing was a major repellant over many dinosaurs.
Tyrannosaurus Rex. A North American super predator. It probably couldn't move very fast because its femur was longer than it's tibia. T. Rex had useless arms, but his bite made up for it. Filled with bacteria, it would kill over time, but the immediate bit would be multi ton, and very deadly. T. Rex was built for combat with a thickened skull and thick rear limbs.
There ya go! ;)

Hmmm. Smaller fossils of fish and Crocodillia? How close in proximity to the skeleton? It may be a south American fish eating dinosaur. Probably lived in a swampy area. This find may be monumental. Most large fish eating dinosaurs lived in Northern Africa. Wow, this could be pretty cool.

I think that your measurements may be a little to broad to be a lock. I feel like the biggest on average are too far down

Also, it's not all about length. Biggest means heaviest.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumTop 13 Largest TheropodsJun 15, 2013
I have to say I strongly disagree with this list. Dinosaurs like Torvosaurus and Deltadromeus were light weight for their size. I am also one of the ones who believe, for good reason, that Tyrannosaurus was the largest. All of the dinosaurs listed here are big, but I hardly agree with the list. This kind of post is kind of dangerous. It can get some bad backlash.

That's one possibility. Of course Rex vs Trike would just be classic, haha
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhy T-Rex is betterJun 15, 2013
Probably. If it was hungry enough, it would be smart enough to realize that if it flipped the ankylosaur, it would be an easy meal. That's where Tyrannosaurus' intelligence comes into play.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumBreaking News! New King Of Dinosaurs?!Jun 15, 2013
I would definitely put it on my site. If it is a new species, these are two names I can think of...
Austrotyrannus- southern tyrant
Tyrannosuchus- tyrant crocodile

Awesome! The way I see it is that there are three possibilities:
1. Chimera of bones from known dinosaurs
2. Very large known dinosaur
3. It's a new dinosaur
For now we don't know, but hopefully we get new information soon.
ReplyPhilosiraptorDinosaurs ForumBreaking News! New King Of Dinosaurs?!Jun 15, 2013
Can't wait to hear the name...
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumWhy T-Rex is betterJun 14, 2013
I don't think even the largest of T-Rex could bite through an Ankylosaurus's armour. A Trike's horn would be a battle, but it is possible. More than anything, the teeth could crush bone if it got a good bite in. What is going to help T-Rex against Ankylosaurus is intelligence. T-Rex would probably leave Ankylosaurus alone unless it was desperate.
Replyt-rex90Jurassic Park Forumrex or spinoJun 14, 2013
T-Rex would win, it's heavily built and has a way stronger bit force than Spinosaurus, T-Rex was made for fighting tanks like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus whereas Spino was made to hunt fish. T-Rex would win easily, just one crushing bite to the neck and it's over for Spino.
ReplybelladonnaDinosaurs ForumBreaking News! New King Of Dinosaurs?!Jun 14, 2013
wow that is so freakin cool!!!!
ReplyJonosaurus RexDinosaurs ForumWhy T-Rex is betterJun 14, 2013
Tyrannosaurus Rex would win because of superior bite force. T. Rex's bite force was the largest in the animal kingdom (over 5000lbs, 2x more than a saltwater crocodile) and its teeth were specifically designed to crush through Triceratops horn and Ankylosaur armour. By comparison, the teeth of Spinosaurus and other large theropods like Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus were like giant meat hooks, great for holding the prey with its jaw, but the larger claws did most of the work. In addition, T. Rex possesed a mouthfull of bacteria which would infect bitemarks. So even if the bite from T. Rex didn't kill the prey, the biological weaponry would...

An idea i had was for raptor vs trike, we dont see them very much in JP
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumBreaking News! New King Of Dinosaurs?!Jun 14, 2013
That would be sick if they found a new theropod just as big as Spino. It could just be an exceptionally large Giga or Mapusaurus, but it could be a new dinosaur altogether. I personally believe that T-Rex is, and always will be, king of the dinosaurs. I just think that because it is the oldest (discovered, not years ago) of the super predators, and it's name means Tyrant Lizard King. That's just how I view it. If it is a new dinosaur, how freaking cool would it be if your sister named it and you had a dinosaur named after you (assuming your last name would be used). If it is new, I believe Rex Fan's site will have the first facts on it quickly/first.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumAwesome Dinosaur NamesJun 14, 2013
Tyrannosaurus for sure. Pyroraptor is a cool name too. I like Daspletosaurus and Gorgosaurus. Sound cool to me. Austrolavenator is kind of cool. It's a little long, but then you see it means the southern hunter. Tarascosaurus or the Spanish dragon, is also pretty awesome.
