before anyone passes judgement, this is Allosaurus spp. in other words, the smaller species of allosaurus with a total axial length of ~8 meters and weighing around half a ton.
Personally, i give this to Ceratosaurus 65-35. It's way more robust, and has a more lethal set of jaws then the allosaur at these sizes.
Cool stuff.
Thanks everyone. I got big plans for it and I look forward to writing it :)
Not a doubt in my mind I'll be reading this. Pretty neat idea, and I enjoyed that movie quite a bit. Looking forward to it, and knowing you, it's going to be great.
Really looking forward, it sounds very exciting! :D
You can bet your life that I'm reading this!!! It's so cool that a new take on dinosaurs is being told here! And Brother Bear is the perfect inspiration, I watched it when I was younger, and it is a fairly deep movie for those who are older.
Thanks. Of all things, I got my first spark of inspiration while my 7 year old brother watched the Disney movie Brother Bear. It took off from there.
that is vaguly similar to my story. bt great nonetheless.
Just to clarify, green screen doesn't always necessarily mean CG will replace it. In many instances green screen is used to stand in for sections with practical effects that would be impractical to use on-set. For example long hallways full of people, large rooms with crowds, miniature sets used to stand in for background pieces...etc...etc... A lot of this might be more practical to create in a studio than on main set with the lead cast.
Just because a green screen is seen doesn't automatically mean "CG alert".
I think fans of the franchise need to also remember that Jurassic Park is fairly diverse in demographic appeal. Younger audiences love dinosaurs and it's good for them to have characters to relate to on screen who are in the thick of these adventures.
Which I like about these movies. It keeps them from being too serious, which the books skewed too close to, and leaves it open to a wide audience for whole families to enjoy. As cool as the dinosaur attacks are one of the key components to Jurassic Park is a sense of awe and wonder. Everyone should have the chance to enjoy that.
Thanks. And yes, it's something like that. They believe the dinosaurs have powerful spirits and while they respect them and that power, they do hunt them/fight them from time to time. And as I said, they can harness that power.
Sounds cool, sort of like old Native American beliefs, where spirits can be reincarnated into animals or somehting like that.
Needless to say, looking forward.
I'm gonna have to give this one to Z-Rex.
Z-Rex- 55 percent chance
Torvo- 45 percent chance
Yes, water was around when all living things were around,a nd then those animals evolved, and since most animals are made out of water, technically speaking we are made out of dinosaur pee...
Thanks. Could you help think if a better name for the story.
TK, instinct is a good chunk of a fight, not the whole fight. In a sense, hunting is a fight when said predator is attacking said prey item. When a pack of Mapusaurus swarms an Argentinosaurus, that's instinct. Argentinosaurus was a prey item, they need to kill it for food. That's instinct. Attacking it. That's instinct. How they attack. That's brains. Same with Dromeasaurus and Edmontosaurus. Dromeasaurs aren't the pound for pound most deadLY dinosaurs out there because they were idiots that ran on instinct.
I said nothing about evolution. I simply stated water was around before living things.
Haha, a non "JP3 was crappy" JP3 reference I laughed at.
Nice start. Looking forward to seeing more of this.
Wait a second... If I am correct, about 87% of our bodies ARE made out of water... This means that we are dinosaur pee...
We didn't necessarily evolve from fish, we just evolved from proto-fish, to be more precise. Slowly over time the organisms living in Earth's oceans evolved into fish, some into amphibians, which then evolved into land animals, it's a long story. Evolution is so cool, oen thing I find absolutely amazing is that humans actually have genes for tails, gills, fins, etc., just simply that we've evolved to no longer use those genes.
Yes, we are all going to be sick... At least we know how Eric obtained the dinosaur pee now, haha...
Despite the fact that I've seen every one of them, I still laughed. Nice finds.
Nice chapter, looking forward to seeing what this beast is, and how the King of Jurassic World is involved.
Scientifically speaking, the first animals (correct me if I'm wrong), were all water based. Every single one of them. Water was around before living creatures. Therefore, we are simply drinking the same water that dinosaurs drank, we are drinking the same water that creatures like Dunkleostus swam in, and we are drinking from water Spinosaurus hunted in. Nothing more, nothing less. Water now is the same water millions of years ago.
Speaking from the purpose of this topic now. Haha, this is funny, nice find, I think I'm going to be sick.
No doubt theropods were durable. They had to be. They had to be able to take a hit and keep on going. If they couldn't, they die. Survival of the fittest, and let's face it, who's to say the dinosaurs would have died out had that asteroid not hit Earth 65 million years ago?
HAHAHA Thanks Raptor!
I love drinking Dinosaur Pee!! :D
T-Rex White,
It not only looks similar, it looks like the spitting image of that design. You may have just proved this T-Rex is not related to Jurassic World.
Totally stunning! amazing news indeed :D
@DinoSteve- Yes, definately NOT a coincidence...
Glad everyone has contemplated about this new fact about our "H2O"...
I agree.@ mystique, intelligence does not play a role in a fight! Fights are detrmined by instinct.
I drink, eat, and am dinosaur blood and pee.
Delta, I put the injuries in a human perspective, like saying the human would have a bad face injury. You find the first post helpful?
Theropods are extremely durable. They had to be. However, think, we've only found a few specimens (realatively speaking) of Theropods with major injuries. compared to mammals, they are more durable, but durable like a crocodile or lizard. Also the fact that they are big makes injuries look bigger compared to us. I mean, human being can't survive being bitten by a Baryonyx, but I'm sure a triceratops would pass it up as a little nip. Barely noticeable. But, I do like this. I didn't know about some of these injuries.
WHAT!?!?!?! I don't know if I want to take a shower now.
I saw this on The Oatmeal its hilarious! I guess that means I'm made up of about 60% Velcociraptor blood. ( ya, I'm so awesome, I don't use pee, I use BLOOD!!)
These were pretty funny. Thanks for sharing these with us!
