10. Dire wolf, pack and alone it's agility. I find the teeth of smilodon to be a slight disadvantage, however it's size and strength can certainly crush the canine.

9. Tarbo on a slight advantage on agility, plus not to mention those jaws...but a swipe from theri would really make that tarbo think twice.

8. Alone or maybe even with a few mapusaurus, a full grown Argentinosaurus would win. Herbivores are pretty successful and sometimes powerful creatures.

7. Deino in a pack or maybe even in a pair (if played smart idk), but I'm sure the tenonto could eaisly break the ribs of deino with ease (I want to know more about hadrosaurs defending themselves, as I'm sure they're probably not depicted correctly).

6. Lvyatan, a whale's mobility is better than a shark. But in all seriousness, it's all about the first bite. 50/50 Idk if it's known or not but, if the lvyatan worked in a pair or a pack as a possibility, megalodon is in some serious trouble.

5. This comes down to pretty much the male vs the female, motherly love vs the guy that needs help. Is there much of difference between genders of Majunga's? If not, this match is like...sitting there. lol

4. Sarcosuchus, I love spinosaur more than sarco, but I don't see the new spino having a high chance at beating Sarco.

3. Velo in a pack, Protocera possibly alone. A velo could really hurt itself tho.

2. 50/50 for me, it's a tough decision. Stego could give the allo a hard time and make it think again. Allo alone too however can be also such a trouble for stego.

1. Same as number 2 some-what. Rex being so POWERFUL and triceratop being LARGE (Seriously look at scale to sacle "T-rex vs. Triceratops") and DEFENSIVE. It's a really scary fight for both competitors.

Raptor-401Jurassic Park ForumWhy I think The Lost World is better than Jurassic Park

Thanks everyone for replying but still, Jurassic Park is made so kids can enjoy, honestly, like it or not. The general tone, the music, the deaths somewhat censored, classical scenes that make kids go crazy such as the brachiasaur and John Hammond saying "Welcome to... Jurassi Park."

Now I'm not saying it's for kids, it was just made so kids could also enjoy it.

Why do you think people always are talking about how Jurassic Park was part of their Childhood? Seriosuly, just watch the movie and notice the overall tone- friendly and heartwarming.

I like Jurassic Park way more than the Lost World but I still really enjoy TLW and I think it gets too much hate from some people.

the 'average' tyrannosaurus is a lot easier to discern then in giganotosaurus sheerly because we have many more individuals (40+ vs 2) now, i did the math on this waaaayyy long ago. but, here goes; the smallest rex individual “black beauty” measured ~10.6 meters. “Bucky” is a close second. "sue" is the largest confirmed described specimen at 12.3 meters. from this, we can safely ascert T.rex had an average length greater then 10.5 meters. saving y'all from the boring math & listing of mature T.rex specimens, i arrived at an 'average' of 11.3-11.8 m (taking various measurements from multiple sources. weight was trickier, but i got 6.3 - 7.2 tons for an average rex. again, taking multiple sources into consideration. giga it's harder to claim an average. the holotype was ~12.4 meters & the paratype has a lower jaw fragment from an animal 6.5% larger then the holotype. this would put it at a length of ~13 meters. weight estimates for this species vary greatly, but i've estimated the giga holotype at 6.8 tons and the paratype at 7.5 tons. based on this, giga & rex were roughly the same size on average, while rex was larger based on the largest specimens we have(8.3 vs 7.5). my methods are a bit conservative but overall parellel to Hartman's. I'd also like to stress the above results only show the greater population sample of T. rex and i have severe doubts G. carlinii's paratype was the largest we will find of the specie.

PRIMAL KING - Thank you ever so much for this information! It certainly helps to fill in a few gaps in the understanding I possessed concerning these animals! Very compelling! :)

10. Dire Wolf. The wolf is just as big, smarter and slightly stronger.

9. Therizinosaurus, because just look at those things on its hands.

8. Dunno. Depends I guess.

7. Deinonychus. We know who won that one.

6. Megalodon. I (like Silver Falcon) think its OP commonly as hell.

5. Not even a contest. Majungatholus. Undisputed 4 LIFE!

4. Tie. If its in the water, as aquatically based as Spinosaurus was, it wasn't quite Sarcosuchus aquatic-based. On land, the opposite. However, odds are they never met because of the time difference.

3. Velociraptor. Because... Clever Girl. But seriously, the raptor is getting the killing strike as it died.

2. Really depends on if the Allosaur has surprise on its side or not. If it does, Allosaur. If not, easily Stegosaur.

1. T. rex most of the time. Those jaws could penetrate just about anything.

This was fun!

@ SOMETHING REAL, For the most part, Tyrannosaurus. Also depends on what you take for height. At hip height, T. rex probably takes it with a VERY small difference. Like about .15 to .7 of a meter. At head height, easily Tyrannosaurus. Tyrannosaurus' head could reach (on maximum sized specimens) 6- 6.5 meters in the air. Tyrannosaurus was probably all around bigger at large to maximum sizes.

Primal KingJurassic Park ForumWhy I think The Lost World is better than Jurassic Park

I know for a fact, at least 8 other people who were terrified of Jurassic Park, and half still are. In fact, we watched it in my HIGH SCHOOL film studies class and over 3/4 of the class hadn't seen it (I know, what has this world come to?) But, almost all the girls and a couple of the guys found it scary. You are right, that TLW is scarier and darker than the first JP. However, JP is still a scary movie. Although, the beginning sequence (with the intro, brachiosaur, front gate, etc.) is WAY more appropriate for younger viewers, the escape and death sequences are most certainly not.

Raptor-401Jurassic World ForumImage of satelite Glinda: New update

It has to do with Masrani:

  • December 2014: The end of an era for Mascom's "Glinda"

Mascom satellite Glinda will descend to Earth later this week after 15 years of service. The outdated relay equipment will be decommissioned to make way for a newer model satellite. Glinda was launched to interconnect ground teams studying dangerous storm patterns. The project was brought under the Masrani wing after a successful series of experiments and since then the team behind it have saved thousands of lives by opening our understanding of the biology of storm patterns. This resulted in the invention of a highly advanced warning system that was state of the art at the time. "Glinda won’t impact on the ground," Jessie Rosegrant reassures. "Its trajectory should put it far over the Pacific Ocean, where it’ll burn up in our upper atmosphere."

I'm guessing this ends a week from now... This was a pretty bad time for me, I have to spend the next days studying and such and I've braely found the time to make the few posts I've made the past week...

As such will try to find time later on to debate and such.

Nice post, though I still think Giganotosaurus is larger. Dinosaurs like Sue and Celeste were on the larger size of a T-Rex, an average Giganotosaurus was about the size of Sue. In my opinion Sue is not a good specimen to use as an estimate for the size of an AVERAGE T-Rex. Also Celeste left very little bones behind so we can't know its true size, Scott even puts a ? after it.

REX FAN 684 - How very neat! I've always been on the fence with regards to the weight issue. However, I'm of the opinion that Tyrannosaurus likely outweighed Giganotosaurus due to muscle mass. Out of curiosity, how much taller was Giganotosaurus than Tyrannosaurus? The disparity does not seem to be that drastic. These images are extremely interesting to observe! Thank you so much for sharing them! :)

I've said before that had TLW could've easily beat the first movie for me, had it not been for the plot holes and some not so interesting characters. (In terms of the books though I like TLW much more.)

lol chill. it's a fact glands do not fossilize. you're trying to pass off these 'structures' as glands. your butthurt attitude towards mewas unwarranted as i was only stating my two cents. if you have a problem with me address me via pm. and, btw, i believe everyone is thinking of FRESHwater. the estuaries & deltas in S.aeypgiptiacus' habitat were saltwater just like today, brackish at best.

In my opinion i gave the first film 9/10 for originality,  top notch CGI  for its time, and character storyline development.

and the TLW 8/10 Not because its any worse but it was just down to inconsistances and plot holes, characters disaapearing ect thats all. Over all its still one of my favourite films and i highly rate it.

AND YOU DIDNT MENTION EDDIES DEATH SCENE!!!!!!!  gotta be the best one in the entire franchise> ( wish bone ) :D

thats my view. Great topic.

and regarding the scare factor. I was 6 years old back in 1993 when jurassic hit the theatres and i cacked my pants when i saw it, in fact hearing that t rex roar in a cinema at that age i shat my self lmao.

I dunno how old a lot of you are on here, but seeing them at the cinema is a different experience completely than on DVD. The impact and tention isnt the same. The closest ul get  to that fear is, being alone in ur house with every light off and a big tv in front of you, and turning the sound on.

Both are about the same size, yangchuanosaurs be the bigger of them, and with the arms for an attack as well, I am gonna say the carnotaurus, cause one could could attack from behind, and one attack the neck of the yangchuanosaurs, one of them might die or be heavily wounded, but I think the Carnos would win, with the bumpy and scale skin for defense, and the horns, they could kill the yangchuanosaur.

What an interesting thoery! Never thought about this. Sad I can't see the pictures but I know what you mean by this. Looging at the penguin and the Spino does suggest some salt water travel. If the Spino lived in the sald water is up to disscusion but I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of Spinos migrating during droughts. If there is a drought in Africa, swim over to another island/continent where there isn't a drought.

I'm agree with that actually. I believe that Spinosaurus went into saltwater and that it had some feathers like penguins.

GREAT LEONOPTERYX - Or perhaps we'll get a pulse-pounding suspense scene in which characters must pick their way through the gardens knowing full well that the D-Rex is hidden amongst the foliage! That would be bloody terrifying! :)

LORD OF THE SPINOSAURS - Oh, yes! It's screaming that and saying "Pretty Please?"! :)

I would agree with you on most parts I do find JP2 more entertaining as well, for the exact reasons but on the contrary I like the human characters in JP1 better.

Raptor-401Jurassic World ForumThe REAL problem with the CGI in Jurassic World

I'm not against CGI in general. I loved the CGI in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, for example. The CGI in the trailer is worse than the orignal, but it is not finished yet.

It's just the fact that you can tell it's fake.

Yeah, they were never among with Crichton. That's wrong with the 3rd one. it annoys me when people say the 3rd sucked because Spino beat Rex. It didn't suck, it was just dissapointing. And it wasn't created by the original storytellers of the franchise.

The space race should have never happened, it was something childish and stupid. The whole point was to beat the USSR, not to actually research space. If we want to conquer the world of science quicker we need to work together regardless if our nationalities. That was not directed at you Paden, I just felt like this was a good place to express my feelings of that act.
