MemberCompsognathusDec-15-2014 1:52 PMI did a list kinda like this a long time ago, but this one is not just dinosaurs(my last one was). All rivals are real life rivals...
10. Dire Wolf vs Smilodon
The ultimate cat vs dog, this is one classic rivallry.
9. Therizinosaurus vs Tarbosaurus
Some of the most impressive claws ever seen vs some of the nastiest jaws ever seen.
8. Mapusaurus vs Argentinosaurus
One of the biggest animals ever vs one of the biggest predators ever.
7. Deinonychus vs Tenontosaurus
These rivals helped provide some of the first evidence of a dinosaurian predator-prey relationship.
6. Megalodon vs Livyatan
The largest shark ever to live and his toothy, warm blooded rival.
5. Majungasaurus(tholus) vs Majungasaurus(tholus)
They may be the same species, but sometimes, these two are really at each other's throats.
4. Spinosaurus vs Sarcosuchus
Spinosaurus probably came into contact with Sarcosuchus more than any other predator, so this would have been one heck of a battle.
3. Velociraptor vs Protoceratops
Like Deinonychus vs Tenenontosaurus, this rivallry has legit evidence of existing and it was ugly.
2. Allosaurus vs Stegosaurus
What more needs to be said? This matchup is one of the most famous rivallries ever known! One of the greatest "predator-prey" clashes ever seen.
1. Tyrannosaurus rex vs Triceratops
This is, without a doubt, the greatest rivallry in the prehistoric world. I like to call it "the unstoppable force vs the immovable object."

MemberAllosaurusDec-15-2014 1:59 PMCool list, though I would replace "rivals" with "Rivalries" in the title to make it more clear.
Nice pictures as well. I'm with:
10- Dire Wolf- I LOVE dogs
9- Tarbosaurus
8- Mapusaurus
7- Deinonychus
6- Megalodon
5- Hard to choose
4- Spinosaurus
3- Velociraptor
2- Stegosaurus
1- Hard to choose, probably Triceratops

And 5 is a tough one, lol

MemberAllosaurusDec-15-2014 2:10 PMNo problem.
Yes, haha, glad you got the small joke I pulled off there.

MemberCompsognathusDec-15-2014 2:16 PMNice RexFan! I enjoyed this alot!
I am with
10. Smilodon
9. Tarbosaurus
8. Mapusaurus
7. Deinonychus
5. I agree with Fernandosaurus Rex...
4. Spinosaurus
3. Velociraptor
2. Allosaurus
1. Tyrannosaurus rex
Also in my opinnion, my fav is Velociraptor vs Protoceratops :D
Also I like Ceratosaurus vs (Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, etc.) and Torvosaurus and Allosaurus, and Carcharadontosaurus and Spinosaurs...one I hate is Rex Vs Spino though...don't get started....
Nice Post!
BTW Did any of you hear about the Sydney Siege? I live in Sydney NSW, Australia...however I up the coast in Queens Land....
Sadly 17 were taken hostage...2 died...and cop was injured and Hostage taker was gunned down, went of for 17 hours...

MemberCompsognathusDec-15-2014 2:22 PMGlad you liked the list. I agree, there are a lot of other rivallries that were cool(Ceratosaurus vs Allosaurus for example), but I didn't want repeat species(if that makes sense).
And I did hear about the Sydney Siege. Terrible stuff.

MemberCompsognathusDec-15-2014 3:08 PMSo... My thoughts:
10: Direwolf. Numbers are their greatest advantage.
9: Therizinosaurus. Sorry, but those claws will deter all but the most determined predators.
8: It depends if the Argentinosaurus is alone or not...
7: Deinonychus. Just because.
6: Megalodon. I think it's overrated, but whatever.
5: Tough choice that one... Going to have to go with Majungatholus.
4: Spinosaurus. It has an additional weapon at its disposal, its claws.
3: Velociraptor. A pack of raptors could easily overwhelm a protoceratops.
2: Stegosaurus. this thing was the tank before ank.
1. I want to say triceratops... but I am not of knowings.

MemberTriceratopsDec-15-2014 4:58 PMJust for added discussion, how about the rivalries we humans had during the Ice Age? I mean, we are the only creatures in this world who can discuss these kinds of things, and have proof that our ancestors had to gut it out where they weren't top predator yet.
Just think...Mammoth vs humans. That I would say ranks in a tie for first with the Trike vs T.rex.

MemberAllosaurusDec-15-2014 5:35 PMI agree.
My ideas-
10. Dire Wolf. With lack of evidence of Smilodon being social, Dire Wolves win this round. (I'm more of a cat person actually. :T)
9. Therizinosaurus. Even if the Tarbosaurus got close enough to reach the neck, the Therizinosaurus could slap it with its claws.
8. Mapusaurus. The carnivores have a group advantage, but the Argentinosauruses would put up a good fight.
7. Dienonychus. The raptor's speed, agility, and numbers could easily take down a Tenontosaurus
6. Tie. The Levyatan would have to come up for air, but the Megalodon could drown of the Levyatan stuns it for long enough.
5. Majungatholus. It would be the undisputed winner every time.
4. Spinosaurus. It's practiaclly a sailbacked crocodile on steroids.
3. Velociraptor. Speed, agility, and power would take down the Protoceratops, but it would most likely put up a good fight.
2. I'd have to go with Stegosaurus. It's bulkier, and it could put a hole through the Allosaurus's leg with its thagomizer. Plus one for group advantage.
1. Tie. Both have life-threatening advantages.

Primal King
MemberCompsognathusDec-16-2014 6:21 PM10. Dire Wolf. The wolf is just as big, smarter and slightly stronger.
9. Therizinosaurus, because just look at those things on its hands.
8. Dunno. Depends I guess.
7. Deinonychus. We know who won that one.
6. Megalodon. I (like Silver Falcon) think its OP commonly as hell.
5. Not even a contest. Majungatholus. Undisputed 4 LIFE!
4. Tie. If its in the water, as aquatically based as Spinosaurus was, it wasn't quite Sarcosuchus aquatic-based. On land, the opposite. However, odds are they never met because of the time difference.
3. Velociraptor. Because... Clever Girl. But seriously, the raptor is getting the killing strike as it died.
2. Really depends on if the Allosaur has surprise on its side or not. If it does, Allosaur. If not, easily Stegosaur.
1. T. rex most of the time. Those jaws could penetrate just about anything.
This was fun!

MemberCompsognathusDec-16-2014 8:05 PM10. Dire wolf, pack and alone it's agility. I find the teeth of smilodon to be a slight disadvantage, however it's size and strength can certainly crush the canine.
9. Tarbo on a slight advantage on agility, plus not to mention those jaws...but a swipe from theri would really make that tarbo think twice.
8. Alone or maybe even with a few mapusaurus, a full grown Argentinosaurus would win. Herbivores are pretty successful and sometimes powerful creatures.
7. Deino in a pack or maybe even in a pair (if played smart idk), but I'm sure the tenonto could eaisly break the ribs of deino with ease (I want to know more about hadrosaurs defending themselves, as I'm sure they're probably not depicted correctly).
6. Lvyatan, a whale's mobility is better than a shark. But in all seriousness, it's all about the first bite. 50/50 Idk if it's known or not but, if the lvyatan worked in a pair or a pack as a possibility, megalodon is in some serious trouble.
5. This comes down to pretty much the male vs the female, motherly love vs the guy that needs help. Is there much of difference between genders of Majunga's? If not, this match is like...sitting there. lol
4. Sarcosuchus, I love spinosaur more than sarco, but I don't see the new spino having a high chance at beating Sarco.
3. Velo in a pack, Protocera possibly alone. A velo could really hurt itself tho.
2. 50/50 for me, it's a tough decision. Stego could give the allo a hard time and make it think again. Allo alone too however can be also such a trouble for stego.
1. Same as number 2 some-what. Rex being so POWERFUL and triceratop being LARGE (Seriously look at scale to sacle "T-rex vs. Triceratops") and DEFENSIVE. It's a really scary fight for both competitors.

MemberCompsognathusJan-13-2015 8:33 AM^ that's why he put majungatholus(saurus).
Majungasaurus does very well exist.

MemberCompsognathusFeb-06-2015 6:34 AMsmilodon
tie, Garbo has a slight advantage
argentinosaurus (though if it were giga v argentines aureus, I would say giga)
deinonychus
MEGALODON (seriously UNDERrated), it could bite livyatan in half in one bite and is faster, bigger and stronger. Livyatan wouldn't stand a chance!
majungatholus (sounds cooler)
spino because it could be 17 feet longer and could win simply by stepping on sarco's head
velo in a pack (DUH) but in one on one, whoever attacks first wins. Head to head, proto
allo easily. It could crush stego's head in a single hatchet bite
depends... Same as velo vs proto, if it's trike Maximus, then definitely trike
