@Carnosaur
We've got the Technology for Genetics today. We've cloned sheep and Horses. With the right funding, We can jump over these Limitations.
Thats why a "Rich backer" Scenario to this is what has made it the Believable concept.
We don't fund enough into it, That's the Limitation today. If we Funded about 100x more what we already do, We'd be able to Perhaps make DNA from Scratch.
We've got the Ability, Just not the Motivation. It is possible. It might be Sci-Fi, But to some, It's something more. (I mean, Look at the Walking dead. That's Litterally impossible, But I see Millions of People going to the Gun store to Ready themselves for the apocalypse.)
We're Limited, By only our Imagination.
Lemme tell you a story.
Once upon a time, The Soviet union Looked to the stars, And began researching hard. America caught news of this and decided they had to beet the USSR. They had to make it to the moon first.
A couple years behind of the Soviets, They managed to surpass them and get to the moon before them. Americas only drive behind it was litterally in spite of the USSR's program.
They acheived this, By funding.
We can do it. Jurassic park has always been on the more real side of Sci-Fi.
It is acheivable.
@401
See, YOu get it.
That's why the franchise has been slowing.
Most of these Directors haven't been there since the start. They weren't there drafting the first Script with Crichton.
@Something Real- Thanks for liking my points!
@Paden- That was more of Crichton's way, what can go wrong will go wrong. I read oen of his other books and he really stresses that philosophy out, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of WHEN.
And yes, he really is the only one who knows the true heart of the franchise.
I think Speilburg was striving more for an "Aliens" Moral, Which he certainly got.
What do I mean by that?
What can go wrong, Will go wrong.
The hunters, Will become the hunted. Those in Control, Will loose it.
I enjoyed TLW About the same as JP. I'd like to see some more TLW Concept.
(Or speilburg Direct these things again, Because he seems to know what the hell the franchise is about)
Gotta side with Noah on this one.
I'm starting to doubt this source more and more.
Arlix has no possibility of Existing, Because it's too Specific with it's genetics. I mean, Today, We can't achieve that. Fifty years from now, Still, Won't be able to do it.
"But that makes D-rex fake too"
On the Contrary. D-Rex is more of a Compile of these Genetics, That just so happened to fall into it's specifics. Like, No one knows what the cuttle fish Gene is for, It's assumed Camofauge, But nothing in the Trailer suggests this.
Arlix... Is just way too Specific to the Point on what it's all for.
Gorrila for Strength, Human for Intelligence, Raptor for Stealth, Rex for Size.
It's just too to the point.
BUT WAIT, THERES MORE.
There's a known Tradition of Mis-feeding Extras Information on Purpose to ensure Silence of the Films production.
There's a chance this "Extra" has been fed an Alternative, fake ending to Stop the major leaks to the films plot and such.
JP CARNOTAUR - This is a very...interesting...concept! I'll reserve my full analysis until after we've seen the film. Until then, however, thank you so much for sharing this information with us! :)
FERNANDOSAURUS REX - I felt that The Lost World was an exceptionally neat film! I did not enjoy it quite as much as Jurassic Park; however, I felt that it was very neat and well-presented! I agree with the many points you've touched upon while extolling your preferred movie! :)
I'm not so convinced. Some of this seems too "out there" to be true.
Oh, okay, it did seem like you were getting a bit upset there.
I brought Tom and Jerry up as an example that I could prove anything is not for kids by phrasing thins a certain way, know what I mean?
And yes, it does appeal to somewhat that age group. The music, the tone, the atmosphere, know what I mean? To be honest you're the first I met to say you found it scary as a child.
I'm not offended, just debating. :) It's my nature. Jurassic Park is much darker than Tom and Jerry, not sure why you brought that up. Haha. But KIDS to me is like 3-8. Which is very scary for most of that age group. Sure, older isn't as scary. Still eerie. (I think its scary.)
They were all censored out... And yes they did leave you eery but not scared to death.
Why are you getting offended? Whether you like it or not, it was made so kids could enjoy ALONG with adults. I am not saying it's for kids. How do you think so many people grew up with the movie? They watched as kids...
I mean I could say Tom and Jerry isn't for kids if I find enough violent stuff int hat show. And Looney Tunes.
True, but Spinosaurus could use those claws. Though in reality if the two met (which I am convinced they did) they would probably both avoid each other to prevent injuries.
You call a man being shaken so hard by a Rex that you can hear his back dislocating family-friendly? Or a dislocated arm falling on someone? Or a man's skull being ripped to shreds while a raptor pounces on him? We have very different "family friendly" values.
Well it was made family-friendly- allt he deaths are censored. It is for adults but it was made for kid- I mean even the music! The music is somehting that certainly appeals to kids as well. Also the tone as well.
I agree.
My ideas-
10. Dire Wolf. With lack of evidence of Smilodon being social, Dire Wolves win this round. (I'm more of a cat person actually. :T)
9. Therizinosaurus. Even if the Tarbosaurus got close enough to reach the neck, the Therizinosaurus could slap it with its claws.
8. Mapusaurus. The carnivores have a group advantage, but the Argentinosauruses would put up a good fight.
7. Dienonychus. The raptor's speed, agility, and numbers could easily take down a Tenontosaurus
6. Tie. The Levyatan would have to come up for air, but the Megalodon could drown of the Levyatan stuns it for long enough.
5. Majungatholus. It would be the undisputed winner every time.
4. Spinosaurus. It's practiaclly a sailbacked crocodile on steroids.
3. Velociraptor. Speed, agility, and power would take down the Protoceratops, but it would most likely put up a good fight.
2. I'd have to go with Stegosaurus. It's bulkier, and it could put a hole through the Allosaurus's leg with its thagomizer. Plus one for group advantage.
1. Tie. Both have life-threatening advantages.
^Even more adapted to water though.
I like them the same amount. FYI, I found Jurassic Park very scary. And Spielberg didn't make it fmaily-friendly, he toned down the violence from the book. However, I love them both equally too much to even represent in words
Thanks guys! Alphadino, I don't think there would be many (if any) creatures in the sea that would have odds in there favor against Spinosaurus, the biggest was Kronosaurus I believe, and Kronosaurus was only about 10 meters I believe.
Ah yes, forgot about that! It had much more action and did include more dinosaurs than the first one.
I also enjoy TLW better because-
1. More action
2. A wider variety of dinosaurs
3. Tyrannosaurus in San Diego
(I also agree with what's stated in the topic.)
Your hypothesis is as good as anyone could make it, and it is a cool idea to think that Spino ventured out to sea every once in a while to feed like a saltwater croc. But I will only say sometimes, because despite its size, there were creatures out there that would make a meal out of Spino. As well, it doesn't look like Spino was a truly fast swimmer, so I doubt a long open-sea voyage was a good option. If and when Spino ventured into saltwater, I guess it was in brackish water. Still shallow enough to be like it's freshwater habitat, but with a high enough salt content.
It's possible. Personally, I wouldn't care if it appeared or not.
It's plausible. Most crocodiles can survive short amounts of time in saltwater.
Just for added discussion, how about the rivalries we humans had during the Ice Age? I mean, we are the only creatures in this world who can discuss these kinds of things, and have proof that our ancestors had to gut it out where they weren't top predator yet.
Just think...Mammoth vs humans. That I would say ranks in a tie for first with the Trike vs T.rex.
Seems like you just don't like CGI in general. There are always the people who like practical effects more and there is something to be had knowing that a real thing is moving in front of the camera, but we're in an era that is moving away from that to the idea of CGI which brings a lot more positives than negatives in most cases.
Was the CGI the greatest ever, no but I don't think it's worse than the CGI used in the original.
With the way the trailers painted it I would be surprised if the D Rex doesn't die, it seems like it will be almost completely a villain that's responsible for what's going wrong in the movie.
MOSASAURUS - This is a very compelling series you've presented! Hmm. I'd have to agree with you and KYLO REN on this. Utilizing the velociraptors as a form of hunting and tracking mechanism would certainly make a great deal of sense. Perhaps their senses of smell and sight provide them with the tools necessary to pursue a creature as elusive as the Diabolus Rex! I would, however, prefer it if the raptors gave battling the D-Rex a full miss. We all know how well it worked for the raptors when they assailed the T-Rex in Jurassic Park! This was a very fun topic to consider; thank you for sharing this with us! :)
LORD OF THE SPINOSAURS - Oh, now this is a very neat and compelling topic! I happen to believe that, given the information you've presented for comparitive analysis, the hypothesis you've generated is quite feasible! Nature has a tendancy to "recycle" concepts within the biodynamics of various ecologies - especially the ones that yield high survival rates. I'm certain that, if Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus was a solid water-going animal, it would have definately learned to at least venture out into the oceans and seas from time to time in order to take advantage of the plethora of prey items therein. I would definately place this within the realm of plausibility! Thank you ever so much for sharing this incredibly interesting notion with us! :)
i hope the raptors are used for tracking purposes ony and not battle. maybe he uses the raptors to locate the d-rex and then he and bryces character unleash rexy on that location. so tracking capabilities would be cool, and battle would be silly.
I wish that the pictures worked, but I'm completely okay with this idea. I find it completely plausible, and to a point even hope it is true. Yet another reason why spinosaurus is possibly the most interesting dinosaurs discovered.
So... My thoughts:
10: Direwolf. Numbers are their greatest advantage.
9: Therizinosaurus. Sorry, but those claws will deter all but the most determined predators.
8: It depends if the Argentinosaurus is alone or not...
7: Deinonychus. Just because.
6: Megalodon. I think it's overrated, but whatever.
5: Tough choice that one... Going to have to go with Majungatholus.
4: Spinosaurus. It has an additional weapon at its disposal, its claws.
3: Velociraptor. A pack of raptors could easily overwhelm a protoceratops.
2: Stegosaurus. this thing was the tank before ank.
1. I want to say triceratops... but I am not of knowings.
Thanks SR. Your input is always welcome :)
REX FAN 684 - How very neat! I greatly enjoyed reading each entry - selection #5 was certainly a difficult call! This was very fun! :)
LORD OF THE SPINOSAURS - This is certainly a thought provoking topic! Hmm. I'd have to say that the D-Rex will likely be slain at the end of Jurassic World. As the primary antagonist and representation of Mankind's attempt to control and manipulate nature, the animal has no place amongst the actual dinosaur kingdom - it is an abomination created by the story tellers for the audience to fear and hate. In the end, Masrani might not want their prototype destroyed, but they'll likely have to deal with that outcome! :)
Glad you liked the list. I agree, there are a lot of other rivallries that were cool(Ceratosaurus vs Allosaurus for example), but I didn't want repeat species(if that makes sense).
And I did hear about the Sydney Siege. Terrible stuff.
This has actually got me so HYPED! LOVE IT! Also want to say it reminds me kind of the movie Predator...so hyped! I had something like this planned aswell! XD
Can't wait, well organised characters, my fav is PFC Carmine C. Roberts and MSG Allen S. Reeder so far.
