I don't think there's a noticable difference between the movies in terms of targeted audience. I mean the deaths in the last world besides Eddie were offscreen with you only seeing some blood or screaming when it was over, nothing really different than from the original. The Lost World cme out when I was 5 and I remember going to see it in theaters and even at that age I didn't remember feeling any more fear than from the original. In fact I still think the opening scene in the original was much more scary and had more tension building than anything in The Lost World.
I don't think The Lost World is a bad movie, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as the original.
What a hunk! Chris is okay, too. ;)
No need to get offended. I'm stating my own opinion that Jurassic Park is an "older kid'sbro adult" movie. Not sure why you are getting so upset. If you believe Jurassic Park is a kid's movie, so be it. I was simply saying that because of the you know... Mutilation and death featured, I think it wasn't. I found the tone of the first half (as you said) more happy and magical even, but the last half's tone was dark and eerie.
Oh this is a good day!!!! I love this so muxh, I think it might have been done to quench the fears that everyone had regarding cgi..ohh this is too awesome!!
This time, the raptors are the game wardens!!!
i like trike most but with head deco/weapons, id say... idk! styraco is one of my foves though! :)
pretty good list id say im on team megalodon have you ever noticed how based is a letter away from biased?
yay nice fight although lio could have just killed nessie by clamping its jaws on its neck and i dont get what this thing is about
I like TLW.
I like Triceratops and Styracosaurus.
Thanks for sharing this with us! :)
Ok, I'd like to add some things...
First off a consideration that hasn't been made is the fact that the avergae Tyrannosaurus specimens are about the same size as the smallest giga, about 6.5-7 tons and 11.5 meteres to the average Tyrannosaur, the smallest giga we have messures about 12.4 meteres and around 6.8 tons.
Also the height issue, erm no T-rex is not much if any taller then giga... At hip or head.

Also Giga has taller vertibra then T. rex, which means more room for muscle attachments, which would gove giga some extra weight, also I'm pretty sure (not 100% certen so take this with a grain of salt) that Giga has a deeper rib cage which would most likly give it a weight advantage.
I enjoyed the lost world more for the reasons stated before me
I personally like Styracosaurus the best. It's just one interesting looking Dino!
I liked the lost world better. It just had a way better plot
Honstly I feel people who like Jurassic Park 3 better don't really know what the Jurassic Park franchise is all about. Jurassic Park 3 portrayed all the dinosaurs as just monsters rather than graceful but deadly creaures like the first two.
There was no science so to speak in Jurassic Park 3. No new info about InGen except one line that says they did illegal breeding.
But I did like how it left Rex because by the end of The Lost World the t-Rex got old. The raptors? They never get old... Well they can and most likely will, but...
The Lost World is actually my favorite movie... So yeah, I prefer The Lost World over Jurassic Park 3.
I've seen these before but they are still cool
@PK, ermm...no. Do you have a source for that claim?
Mucvp-ch1 has always been estimated at ~12.4 meters.
I just noticed S.hartman estimateos it at 12.4 meters too....neat.
Thanks man! Awesome links.
Part 1 should be up on the 19th. Look forward to it then!
BIGBADWOLF - This is very compelling information! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us! :)
Oh, and welcome to the site! We're always happy to see new faces! :)
Jurassic Park 3 had it's flaws for sure, but I liked it a bit more then Lost World. I really liked how they moved away from the rex, and the way they portrayed the Raptors.
First off 9-12 year olds aren't adolescents, they're children.
And the site doesn't matter. Seriosuly, the Neverending Story and Shrek scared me more than Jurassic Park., put that into perspective. Does that mean those movies are meant for adolescents? no. Does it matter Jurassic Park is made for kids to enjoy? No.
Again, it's just the tone of the movie.
TLW had three rexes...

The Lost World.
Reasons: Had 2 T.Rexes, a decent raptor scene, stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus!, somewhat decent characters, T.Rex in the city (could have been done better), didn't kill a single T.Rex.
The difference is very small. 200 kg are nothing in two big animals like T.rex and Giganotosaurus, and intraspecific variations make that difference meaningless. Plus, if we're comparing the largest, why not comparing the smallest? Now, wich is bigger, B.rex or MUCPv-ch1? We cannot compare those two animals, we've got just 2 Gig specimens, while we have 30 + T.rex specimens. From what we have, they both reached the same size, or ~8 t.
^ Everything SR said.
Oh yes definitely a need for big budget in case of tv show. There is no point in doing something mediocre. Dinosaurs deserve big money and good cgi and nothing less. Although there was a lot of hate on the newest trailer I am still hopeful and looking forward to it.
KAIJUJIRA - Of the two films you've presented, I must say that I prefer The Lost World. Jurassic Park 3 was a fun film, no mistake! However, in my opinion, it did not possess the same mystery and wonder as Jurassic Park and The Lost World. :)
This site recommends the age appropriacy to parents and viewers. It takes the average of TONS of reviews and let's people make an informed decision. This is the page for Jurassic Park. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/jurassic-park. It lists the age range average as 9 to 12. That, my friend, is adolescents. I think you have become numbed to thw overall effect of the movie through watching it so many times. (As just about everyone on this site has.) Maybe if you watched it for the first time ever NOW. Your thoughts would be different.
Try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period..... Haha
No, it really is made so kids can enjoy it. How am I making Jurassic Park sound too much like a kids movie? it is what it is.
It's like when people get mad whenever I say The Hobbit (Book version) is a kid's book (because it is, the style, the story, genre, etc.) is for children.
Jurassic Park is different, it's made for the whole family. For kids, adolescents, adults, eldery, whatever. It is what it is. Again, seriosuly, the TONE Of the movie-
None of you guys have siad anything about that- it's just the general tone of the movie that gives the impression it somewhat caters towards kids. And the music aswell. A lot of the classic scenes aswell.
PRIMAL KING - Certainly! Thank you ever so much! :)
CARNOSAUR - Wow! That was a very insightful collection of data you presented! Very neat! :)
@SOMETHING REAL.
Sure!!!! Just let me know of you have any more questions!
@Carnosaur,
Not sure if we'll find another larger specimen, but the holotype you're baskng off is a little too large. :)
The Cgi doesn't bother me, nothing is real these days. lol But that's a different topic.
Anyways, like said, all that matters to me is the movie's plot itself.
Btw, I think jp3 was good and wasn't a disappointment.
I think a better word is adolescents. My 5 year old sister and 7 year old brother sent allowed to watch Jurassic park until they're ten. You are making it sound like too much of a kid's movie. Walking with Dinosaurs (although I still enjoyed it) was a kid's movie. Jurassic Park is a movie for OLDER kids. I agree however, that TLW was much darker and "scarier." As for me being scared by it as a kid. I watched it wayyyyy too young, lol. I was 6 and it was on TV. I had nightmares for a month about Rexes and Raptors, haha.
Very interesting, wouldn't be surprised if it did venture off here and there.
The list is unique, however I wish it was a tad bit more organized. :)
