MemberCompsognathusDec-09-2014 6:19 PMHi this is my first fight: t rex vs Ankylosaurus. i know someone already did t rex vs anky, but i dont all agree with that one and i want to do one under normal circumstances. Okay, here we go!
first contestant: Tyrannosaurus rex
armed with: ENORMOUS bite force, very sharp foot talons, and razor-sharp teeth
Second contestant: Ankylosaurus magniventris
armed with: spikes, armor, tail club sledgehammer
On Isla Sorna an old bull Ankylosaurus has strayed out of his normal grazing place. He has fought many battles and has beaten off many predators with just a single well-aimed smash. He spots a few fronds of lush green ferns and happily lumbers over to feast. Little does he know that he is being stalked by a forty-foot beast with a mouth like a hatchet lined with steak knives lined with the teeth of a hacksaw.
The famished female tyrannosaurus is desperate. She has been stalking prey for 2 hours but hasn't caught much except for an ornithomimus and a velociraptor that dared to defy her when she stole its pack's kill. She caught one whiff of ankylosaur and knew it was her only chance if she were to survive the fall and coming winter. She stalks it for half an hour and decided to make her move when it settled down for some ferns.
The Ankylosaurus turns when the predator that has been stalking it for the last half hour explodes out of the cover of the trees with an immense roar. Instinctively, it turns and swings its tail toward it but the rex dodges. The club is powerful but does not have much in the way of agility. The t rex runs to the side and tries to bite out a lump, getting nothing but a mouthful of broken teeth for its trouble. It tries again but has to back off as the 70 lb+ tail club of solid bone swings like a wrecking ball toward here. It screams in pain when the tail club connects with her arm in a solid hit and sends it flying across the clearing. It bellows in a mixture of pain and anger. It knows that one solid hit to the head or leg and it would mean the end. It knows the only way to get past that armor would be to flip it over onto its somewhat softer belly. It hatches a plan then heads back into the trees to hide. The Ankylosaurus continues swinging its tail as a warning for a few more moments, then assumes it has won and goes back to eating. The t rex observes that the Ankylosaurus cannot hit its own sided or anything too close there.
Ankylosaurus relaxes for a moment, but can’t shake the feeling that the rex has not left. Then, much to the Ankylosaurus's surprise, it bursts out of the trees again and rams its side. The anky starts to wobble, but once it gains traction it drives a small spike right into the t rex’s eye. The half-blind predator jumps back with a howl of pain but trips over a log and crashes into a tree. The Ankylosaurus, ever-seeking peace, doesn’t go after the tyrannosaurus and goes back to munching on ferns. For a while, the only sound in the clearing is the sound of the anky quietly munching on ferns and the t rex struggling to get up. Finally, it gets up and staggers toward the anky. With all its might, it smashes its jaws down on the ankylosaur’s back with a thunderous crash. The Ankylosaurus roars in surprise as the biggest spike in its armor is torn out of its back. That was it. Enraged, the anky head-butts the rex, leaving four small gashes on its stomach and giving it room to move. A second tap gets the rex to back off. And the final tap, which is more of an explosion of bone and shin and skin, breaks the rex’s ribs and sends it crashing onto the ground. Then it swings its tail club as low and hard as it can, and connects with the fallen tyrannosaur’s head. It is followed by a sickening crunch, and the t rex stops twitching as blood pours out of its head.
WINNER: ANKYLOSAURUS!!!!!!!!
I think you all knew the outcome of the battle from my username, but I tried to make it as fair as i could.

MemberTriceratopsDec-09-2014 8:15 PMFor any written fight where the combatants are well matched, I look for how well it was written. Your's was well written, except for referring to both as it. You chose the genders, so it would enhance the story to refer to them as him and her. Other than that, nothing wrong with the text.
Now, I can just imagine what was going through your rex girl's head near the end, if this was a comedy (from Meet the Robinsons)...
"I have a big head, and little arms. I'm just not sure how well this plan was thought through..."

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 4:01 AMWell, Ankylosaurus was roughly 6 m long, not large enough.
But I'm glad to see a battle where T.rex isn't the winner. On this site, 99.99% of the battles are won by T.rex, and it's getting quite boring.

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 4:09 AMAlthough I like T-Rex, I agree with what is stated above.
Nice battle though!
There is no such thing as a pure predator. A meat-eater is eit

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 5:36 AM@ giga, I know what you mean. I love rex 2x as much as the next guy but it annoys me when i see rex winning almost every fight it is in. that is why when I have rex in my fights I mixx it up a lot.

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 12:43 PMthx guys by the way i think of anky at about 33-36 ft and some older veteran fighters at around 40

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 1:33 PMSomething tells me the fight he's referring to is mine ;)

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 3:36 PMThose are older estimates. A new study in 2004 provided a much lower body size, of roughly 6 m long.

MemberCompsognathusDec-10-2014 4:28 PMI agree with Gigadino. Ankylosaurus was probably no more than 7 meters long, 5.5-6 meters on average.

Ah, well I feel like sticking with 33-36 feet anyway

MemberCompsognathusDec-19-2014 11:13 AM33-36 feet is likely outdated. Ankylosaurus' skull was roughly 64 cm long, how can it belong to a 33-36 feet animal? It was likely roughly 6 m (6,2 m if you want to be more precise).
