I also heard that Spino weighs more than 20 tons when full grown. WTF? Maybe it's because when it got longer, everything also got wider and taller. I would have thought like 10 or 11!!! We'll (probably) never know for sure though...

That'd be a pretty cool idea. It wouldn't take much to differentiate them, like you said, it could be as simple as a different color or some spikes!

The intimidation was probably Spino's go to tactic. I like that you pointed out the millions of years of evolution! I do think that while Spino wasn't built for combat, it wasn't a pushover. Certainly capable of at least defending itself.

You do have a solid point their, but it is science fiction so anything could be possible. I had this brilliant idea before as to where the island has become quarantined because of a deadly outbreak and people aren't allowed to leave the island. They must find a cure before they kill off the dinosaurs. My other idea was that people where talking a lot about this island retreat off the coast of Costa Rica, so this couple one this trip through a raffle ticket. They do go to Isla Nublar, but they soon realize that this place is not paradise. It was a test to see if humans could survive in a Dino infested jungle. As the couple must stop these evil guys from using the dinosaurs as a bioterrorists weapon. These are just some ideas thrown around.

Well when it's a pack of Giga against a lone Rex obviously Giga has the advantage. One on one, T-Rex could judge distance, it was smarter, it had the bite force advantage, it would just be a great fight to see.

You do have a good point. I'm glad your not going to rage when someone has a different opinion than yours. I personally doubt that Spino weighed more than 10 tons. It did likely have powerful arms to drag up some big fish (I bet Spinosaurus Rex is going to say how Spino didn't eat only fish or much fish). It was up to 60 feet long, but it was lightly built. It's long jaws may have been a slight disadvantage. I agree with how you said most Dino-battles didn't get to the fighting, and how Spino would intimidate most creatures. Spino was not really built for combat (weak jaws for large predator, conical teeth, delicate sail, watch S-Rex say how superior Spino was in combat). T-Rex also had millions of years of evolution over Spino.

He lets out another roar and takes a big slash at the rex scratching its face horribly the rex stands back blinded for a few seconds giving the spino enough time to attack again. grendal???? dont remember any grendal companies.... no sireee bob although you do bring up a good point about mr.stark possessing tech years ahead of its time... and a small conspiracy could add some spice to the next trilogy, and with ingen on the brim of "extinction" they probably would've either bought or were sold to grendal ind or they would've partnered up... its all possible and would look really cool *as i mentioned in the PM* but im not too sure if it quite "fits" into jurassic park... right now we dont have these amp suits for military combat, I've only ever heard/seen about them in Asia and they're in very rough and buggy shape... but its interesting to see one in jp 4...

Well, it could be build by Grendel, who formed partners with InGen, they are able to create technology surpass this time frame, so they could joint ventures with InGen. An example like Stark Industries, from the Avengers. Tony is very intelligent and the technology he creates is present day. They could have the most highly intelligent scientists and high tech equipment, that they are able to produce this technology. InGen could have asked permission from Grendel, which is a secret advanced agency run by a secret government. (They created the F22 raptors and other high tech stuff, people assumed it was the Air Force that created them but it was actually Grendel Ind.) Think Grendel like Weyland industries from Prometheus. So this technology could be ready for primetime, when developed by the most advanced technologies Grendel uses, and also from the most intelligent scientists. So even though InGen was known for creating dinosaurs, nobody knows that Grendel supplied them with the most highly advanced technologies. So it could be plausible to be built.

I agree, the fight in JP3 was BS, but I like Spino. I think it would be cool to have both T-Rex and Spino in the movie. They could be on the same island (Spino gets to Nublar on a land bridge, maybe), and have a fight at the end with T-Rex winning. I think it would be cool if the case had the JP logo, and the JP3 logo facing each other. Watch S-Rex think that this discussion is stupid because everyone is mad at how Spino won in JP3.

I agree. I also liked Jurassic Park 3 even though it's not considered to be one of the best out of the movies. Spinosaurus, I still like it too because of it's look, I think having it and the Rex end their fight in a draw would've been descent too.

T-Rex and The Velociraptors of course but I'd also like to see a Dilophosaurus return and make some more appearances as well as a fight scene with a live full grown Triceratops. A Mosasaur or Leopluradon would also be cool to see in an ocean scene. For herbivores, Therizinosaurus, Brontosaurus, and Iguanadon would be nice.

im afraid not brady, the spino was a one time thing *sadly* it was put in to do things rex could never do, *ie: hunt down a boat and raise more hell then imagined* in interviews about the subject the dinosaur advisor jack Horner, said that he was tired of seing rex win and he wanted to change it up... giving us spino, however in a real fight rex would've won *these facts have been compared and are indeed true* also there is no spino on isla nublar how would we see another one??? sorry but we probably wont see spino again in jp4, if anything we will see most of the dinos on the original tour

i agree completely the spino winning really pissed me off, but it opened up some possibilities we couldn't do with rex, aside from spino the film was pretty good, not my favorite but it was good.... as for my last discussion on how rex should've won should be taken to heart for the next film... it would improve fan moral...

me and ALI3N have been PMing about this, its very possible to do and such but.... does it quite frankly fit into the scenario i mean that would make an excellent fight scene, and we do have the technology 20 years later from the first jp but would ingen possess this equipment of destruction??? its possible and can be done but does it fit...?

Of course I want Tyrannosaurus. I would like to see more of Ceratosaurus. I would not mind seeing an abelisaur of some kind, Tarascosaurus, Aucosaurus, etc. Another cool dino carnivore is Austrolavenator. As far as herbivores go, I like Edmontosaurus, Astrodon, Therizinosaurus, etc.

iliked the part when the trex started attacking the city and went into the neighbor hood and ate that dog. i also liked when the girl did that gymnastic kick on the velocirapter.

the pterasaurs flew out of isla sorna at the end of the third movie they are probobly flying to the next closest peice of land and pterasaurs are not dinosaurs they are flying reptiles. not trying to be mean im just saying.

Muldoon survives in the novel and they were gonna have him in JP3 or in something else but the actor, bob peck, died in 1999. Also an idea might be to have what happened on the second island before the second film, we know that a hurricane wipes it out you can have new characters and how they were on the island and how they survived and got off it, not any of the ingen workers per-say, but like a researcher or a game keeper on site B.

Well that would add to the suspense of the film, we could have the Rex start winning. It could help the film become more thrilling and scary cause like what would you do in that situation, it could be very relatable and you could feel for the character.

1. the troodon reference is still in the air IMO because we do not know if filmmakers consider the JP Game as official canon. I think with regards to the movie it should not be considered as such until we know for sure. 2. I don't recall the island being bombed in the movie verse? In the books yes, it was bombed, but was it in the movie? In the movie verse, InGen has not filed for chapter 11 like it had in the books, which would lead me to believe that Site A would still be around and kicking. In the books half the reason the island was bombed was because of the animals breeding out of control/escaping to the mainland subplots. These were not in the movie version of the film (minus the breeding). Therefore there is no reason why, in the movie lore, the government would even need to bomb the island. InGen could have turned around and sued the pants off of the gov't for destruction of property et all. Not to mention all the spin off stories that take place off of movie verse Site A... 3. Just because InGen started the park in 1988, does not mean the dinos would naturally look the way they were assumed to look in 1988. The creatures would have grown into what we know dinos to look like today. However, Wu in both movie and book (albeit more books) does explain the genetic manipulation of the animals. I would argue it is the genetic manipulation that gives us the "classic" dinosaur look of the dinos on Site A...because InGen really only wanted people's money, therefore, as a corporation, they would want to give the public what the public thought dinos to look like. Now, I would bet it safe to bet some of the animals, like in Site B, could start showing evolutionary traits to bring them back to the new ideas and concepts science is giving us about the animals. Many people, even science folk, seem to forget about the genetic tampering element of Jurassic Park. If they were to read the book, the first one in particular, they would learn of how much tampering InGen had with the animals. Some creatures were up to v4. Another argument for why the dinos aren't the same visually as current ideas is this; the atmosphere and land, oxygen etc, are all different to when they originally lived, so evolution would develop differently.

T-Rex was likely only a pack hunter as a juvenile. I do agree that Giga and Rex look pretty similar, but I think that it could be differentiated from the T-Rex if the producers wanted it to be. They could add stuff like keratin knobs and stuff on top of a new coloration. Even if most people just perceive it as a mutated T-Rex I think it would be cool. I think a lone T-Rex could kill a lone Giga like 65% of the time.

For one thing, Tyrannosaurus was also a pack hunter. Like Spinosaurus, I have a hard time believing that a Giganotosaurus could beat Tyrannosaurus. But not taking that into consideration, I still don't think Giga would make a good new superpredator. Don't get me wrong it's fearsome and huge, 45 feet long and 7-8 tons, but it's too close to T-rex. They both have huge bodies, big heads, long teeth, and pretty short arms. The only real difference at first glance is Giga had 3 fingers, not 2. Of course big time dinosaur fans would notice the more subtle differences right of the bat, but the general public, which outnumbers the dino fans 10-1, are not really gonna know the difference. Giga is still awesome though and the king of S. America.

Oh, how could I forget to mention the 30-35 foot long Allosaurus. Daspletosaurus was fearsome as well, attaining a size comparable to Allosaurus. Yutyrannus was the largest confirmed animal with feathers, 30 feet long. However, it's likely that Therizinosaurus had feathers, and it approached 36 feet long.

At 35 feet long, Suchomimus was also a very large carnivore. The 33 foot long Torvosaurus was about the same size as Allosaurus and was also very large. While the abelisaurids and ceratosaurids did not produce massive predators, the 23 foot long Ceratosaurus and carnivores like the 20 foot long Tarascosaurus or the 26 foot long Majungatholus are worth mentioning. At 25 feet long, Neovenator was another allosaurian relative with a nasty attitude. I know many other medium to larges sized carnivores, but you more or less listed all the super-sized ones already.

One on one, T-Rex would have a pretty good chance at winning, perhaps 60 or 65% of the time. However, given that Giganotosaurus was probably a pack hunter, a real run in would be in favor of the Giga pack.

The age is an estimate. I imagine that after a certain age, a T-Rex's growth rate would slow dramatically. Sue was large, about 43 feet, but her growing had slowed. The new specimen was probably slowing even more, and would have reached maybe 46 or 47 feet before death.

I think Spino would win. I don't have a top favorite dinosaur but Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus, and T-Rex are definitely at the top.

I'm curious as to who would be operating it. It would be pretty awesome to fight with a T-Rex, but I can only imagine the terror one would feel if Rex started winning.

JP4 is still in production, just delayed. Some adjustments are being made to the script presumably, but that should only take a little while. On top of that, perhaps some technical errors occurred. Either way, it's still happening, just probably not when we thought.
