We all know sue the t-rex but check this out, sue died when it was 28 years old and it got 42 feet long, now lets look at UCMP 118742... in case if you don't know what is *UCMP 118742* its an another Tyrannosaurus Rex Skeleton, UCMP 118742 died out when it was 16 years old and got already as big as sue, and we all also know that t-rex never stop growing, so if UCMP 118742 lived as long as sue, i would say it could have reached 15 - 16m in length. what are your thoughts about this? and do you really believe that this could have happen? ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is not my theory, it's a guy called Illiterate Scholar on youtube. his channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/illiteratedino?feature=watch Illiterate Scholar video about T-Rex's Growth , Giganotosaurus & Spinosaurus Sizes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvoBhnUBeME

T-rex may of still of been the most powerful Carnivore to ever walk the Earth. Sue is on the right....UCMP 118742 is on the left. Compared to the largest Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurs Skeletons. T-rex is still KING!!!

I agree T-rex is larger. An average adult is 43-46 feet long and weighs 7-8 tons. The biggest Giganotosaurs were that big, but the biggest rexes were 50+ feet long and 9+ tons in weight. It's also more robust than Giga and therefore, heavier. When scientists look at size, weight is the determining factor as far as who's largest. Plus, T-rex was the most advanced of the large theropods. The theropods were slowly getting bigger as time went on- Allosaurus, Charcarodontosaurus, Tarbosaurus, Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, T-rex. It just makes sense that T-rex, which was the last and most advanced large carnivore, would also be the biggest.

The age is an estimate. I imagine that after a certain age, a T-Rex's growth rate would slow dramatically. Sue was large, about 43 feet, but her growing had slowed. The new specimen was probably slowing even more, and would have reached maybe 46 or 47 feet before death.

I think that the t.rex max 14m long and 10t.the t.rex and most of the big predators grow fast and they probably reach their max size's 70% when they are juvenilles.as for the giga,we need more fossil to say sure its size, streght, etc, because we only have a lower jawpart from the biggest specimen(mucpv-95).

I know that a t-rex max is 14m Long and 10t it is that a t-rex is to 12-15 Or 12-14

@RexFan: Wrong. There are some Theropods that, despite the fact that they are younger than anothers, are smaller. An example: Neovenator lived after than Saurophaganax, but it was smaller, or Baryonyx, wich was smaller than Allosaurus, despite it's younger location in Mesozoic.

First off GigaDino, the second you call someone wrong about a subject that no one really knows everything about right off the bat, you lose all credibility. Second, my statement was much more general than that. Third of all, why bother coming back to a post that's this old to begin with?

I agree with Rex Fan. You don't say that someone is wrong just because they have an opinion you don't agree with. If that was the case, I could say that half the people on these forums are "wrong". I listen to the opinions of others, and I respect people for that.

First off, Sniper's post, the last one, isn't old.

RexFan's thing is unlikely, so it's wrong to me.

I agree with both MrHappy and RexFan (entering the old conversation to help you, haha): you can't say a thing is wrong, only because you don't agree with it, even if it is unlikely.

As long as it's wrong to you, it's ok, but maybe we should keep if we consider ''right" or ''wrong'' other's thoughts for ourselvs, shall we?

Because, ''wrong'', is such a strong word, and we all should pay attention to the words we use, much more here, on a forum, where written words are the only way to communicate.

DinoSteve is right. And GigaDino, two things. One, I can sit here and say your opinions are unlikely and therefore wrong, but I won't(I don't have the time to sit here and debate petty things like that). Two, this post in general is from 2012! Enough said.
