The new Jurassic World movie by Gareth Edwards is currently set for a July 2nd, 2025 release date - which means filming needs to get underway as soon as possible to allow for enough time for post-production to complete in time. Given that Gareth Edwards was only just recently announced as the film's director, it's no surprise that murmurings of where the next Jurassic movie will be filming have begun to surface.
Our friends at Reel News Hawaii, who have a fairly decent track record for reporting the latest happenings from the tropical island, have apparently caught wind of scouts visiting Hawaii, looking for filming locations in Kauai:
RUMOR: Ok, we are definitely in the "take it with a grain of salt" stage of the rumor mill when it comes to "Jurassic World 4" and we understand that until boots are on the ground filming anything can happen. But we got wind that a Jurassic World team is expected to be on Kauai next month. This will most likely be for scouting but they are fast tracking this movie big time for a summer release next year. It was announced yesterday that Gareth Edwards ("Rogue One" & "The Creator") will be directing. Cross your fingers and hold onto your butts! This would be great for Hawaii.
Hawaii and specifically Kauai are classic filming locations, having been utilized previously for many Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films - so although this news is currently classified as a rumor - there's little doubt that this won't turn out to be one of the legitimate filming locations for Gareth Edwards' Jurassic World reboot. As we learn more however, we'll keep you posted!
Big thanks to Reel News Hawaii for the tip!
