It appears the Jurassic World 4 rumors surrounding Scarlett Johansson being offered a lead role in Gareth Edwards' upcoming, untitled Jurassic Park movie were true! The scoop was confirmed this week by The Hollywood Reporter, who corroborated the information, issuing the following report:
Scarlett Johansson is taking a bite out of a new blockbuster. The actor is in talks to join Universal’s new Jurassic World movie, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Universal is moving quickly on the film, which has a July 2, 2025, release date. Gareth Edwards is directing the new Jurassic World, which has a script from Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp. Edwards stepped into the role after David Leitch exited following a short attachment to the project.
Character details remain tight lipped, however we previously reported on a scoop, suggesting Johansson's character will be a scientist sent to an island for research:

A female lead character is in the group of scientists saved by the rescuers. There were ideas of casting a Latina actress, so, the choice remains undecided. We'll have to wait.
