And still they don't talk about the T-Rex. We see one scene of the T-Rex, and it's the same, half second clip every time she appears. Makes me think she's going to have an awesome return to the throne.

^Maybe. In the Colin Trevorrow's defense, he's mentioned some clever ways that the seque draws reflexive parallels with the state of blockbusters today. Part of what you're saying may in fact be the point-- But it's all in how it will be handled.

Like I said previously, I'm hoping for a fun movie with some minor social commentary. That'll be enough to keep the franchise afloat and most fans reasonably happy. That's said, I'm still expecting a violent divide amongst some of the fandom's more vocal members.

Yeah, it wasn't actually till last week that I fully thought about it, these creatures RARELY fighted, they definitely did not want to risk their lives just to have pride.

I was gonna say something similar as to what AlphaDino said. I think its' primates that just fight for pride.

I always just imagined if for example, a Spinosaurus crossed path with an Allosaurus for whatever reason, thye would just walk past each other.

But if for some reason they invaded each others territories, they probably would just warn the other to back off, and still probably no fight. But if it did come to the situation were they fought, I guess I would think T. rex would win, odds 70-30.

More weight and stronger bite would make it more likely to win, in my opinion.

I think that Acro would back down, or T.rex wouldn't bother.  I know that these fights are cool and all, but it is so rare for 2 large carnivores to actually fight each other for whatever reason.  Intimidation is the goal here.  Doesn't matter that I think T.rex is the tougher animal, T.rex would be just as scared as Acro.  There's no such thing as pride in the animal kingdom (except for us and maybe 2 of the 3 great apes) when it comes to living your life, one runs away if they think that they will get mortally wounded or killed.

If I were to be completely honest, I don't believe it looks very good.

The story of Jurassic Park was never about the dinosaurs. They were the device for a much larger theme, which revolves around the hubris of science which leaps before it looks.

This one seems to travel the coattails of that notion, but it seems to boil it down to dinosaurs and explosions. In the first film, and in the original novel, the dinosaurs were minor to the characters and ideas being presented. Since then, the film franchise has slowly deteriorate into action-film tropes, where the dinosaurs become the stars of the film rather than the device for the human characters to learn lessons about their own nature.
And now, it seems, we welcome such dilution because we've forgotten the importance of story over gimmick.

No official reviews yet, but early reaction fodder is still leaking in. This article in particular seems fairly realistic:

Thanks for the info. Looking a bit back, that's what I was going for, realizing once they are older, the mother can now join the hunt with the male.

I also tried to imply that Sicarius accompanied on some of the hunts with the father and mother.

I also remember how in owls the female is much larger, but even then the father does most of the hunting when the hatched raptors are still young and the female has to say and watch over them.

It really is cool how much we can learn from species such as Velociraptors by looking at thier descendants!

With hunting, certainly, but not because she recovered from egg-laying, she finished before the eggs hatched. It's because the young get larger, and thus hungrier, and in most modern raptors, Dad can't keep up with keeping his kids' mouths full if he's the only one hunting, so Mom has to join him. But during the hatchlings' infancy, one parent must stay with them to protect them from the weather and any predators that come across the nest.  Since the mother is larger, she is very well-suited for that duty.  Once the young have gotten bigger, they can be left on their own for extended periods of time while both parents hunt and patrol their territory.

Now that I noticed I should have left the female around the nest, though sometimes in owls the female eventually begins to help after she recovers.

Thanks. That was also part of my intent, to sort of provide a story that diverges from the movies.

Yes that was part of it, I did model it off parenting from Bird of Prey such as owls.

I like this a lot so far.  I don't exactly recall when something like this was done, but it's a nice refresher from all the movie-related stuff.

Just to clarify, you modeled this raptor's breeding/parenting behaviour off of birds of prey where the male hunts most of (if not all) the time, or the male is almost exclusively involved with the young and the female isn't there much?  The part where you said the parenting is done mostly by the male confuses me a bit.

I love how bird-like the Velociraptors were portayed! I remember when I was younger I had a theory that dromaeosaurs had feathers on their arms and tail that they could spread like peacocks.

(Now I want to know what happens next! Still, you should continue this.)

Raptor-401Dinosaurs ForumNew and interesting article on the spinosaurus.

Looking back this honestly makes Spinosaurus a much more interesting creature. Unlike boring and expected traits of other dinosaurs, Spinosaurus was special. Like it said in the documentary, Spinosaurus is finally able to take its place among the giants, with the 60% fossil completeion.

It just makes me happy to see a creature like this finally get a place among the "big ones."

...I never said it wasn't supposed to have feathers.

I said that because the T. rex in the photo resembled more of a lizard rather than a bird-like creature, from where I saw it.

Birds are reptiles, I know that, what I meant is that it looked like it had a more scaley appearance. It wasn't until I visited the home page that I noticed it did have quills.

And please don't call me a "retard" as I am not retarded and I assure you many people call me "smart."

And next time, if you plan to insult someone, at least try to use proper grammar.

Hahahahahahh @raptor-401 could that be any more contradictive ???

More lizard n reptile than like a bird then say isn't it supposed to have feathers ? U retard :D

But there are quills which are quite avian
