MemberTriceratopsJun-08-2015 9:47 AMI think that Acro would back down, or T.rex wouldn't bother. I know that these fights are cool and all, but it is so rare for 2 large carnivores to actually fight each other for whatever reason. Intimidation is the goal here. Doesn't matter that I think T.rex is the tougher animal, T.rex would be just as scared as Acro. There's no such thing as pride in the animal kingdom (except for us and maybe 2 of the 3 great apes) when it comes to living your life, one runs away if they think that they will get mortally wounded or killed.

MemberAllosaurusJun-08-2015 10:27 AMI was gonna say something similar as to what AlphaDino said. I think its' primates that just fight for pride.
I always just imagined if for example, a Spinosaurus crossed path with an Allosaurus for whatever reason, thye would just walk past each other.
But if for some reason they invaded each others territories, they probably would just warn the other to back off, and still probably no fight. But if it did come to the situation were they fought, I guess I would think T. rex would win, odds 70-30.
More weight and stronger bite would make it more likely to win, in my opinion.

MemberAllosaurusJun-08-2015 10:47 AMYeah, it wasn't actually till last week that I fully thought about it, these creatures RARELY fighted, they definitely did not want to risk their lives just to have pride.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-08-2015 2:25 PMWith the info given, provided they thought a fight was worth it, Rex 80-20. Even the lightest Rex outweighed the heaviest Acro by a solid 3 tons.
Normally though, they take one look at each other and keep on walking, or Acro backs down.
Jack of all trades. Master of none

MemberCompsognathusJun-08-2015 2:50 PMI agree that most of the time these predators would not even bother however; there can always be a catalyst. One such scenario could be the Acro intruding into Rexxy's turf. Like any apex predator I believe Rexxy would be protective of its' perceived turf. Mind you Acro could always step aside when faced with a threatening Tyrannosaur but suppose Acro was very hungry and had just made a long awaited kill, would it step aside and risk starving or would it defend its' prize?
If threatened with starvation I see very few predators willing to step aside and believe Acro would attempt to defend its kill. After several moments of bellowing and posturing they would warily engage. T. Rex's distinct weight advantage would immediately become evident and the fight would be over as quickly as it started with Acro backing off after taking a shot or two, deciding that the possibility of starving is still better than a near certain death.
T. Rex 90/10
