Accually, carcharadontosaurus is only 40 feet and Giganotosaurus has been found up to 50 feet, due to recent discoveries.

1) Why do you think the JP3 raptors are smarter? I think the implication is that the raptors from JP were equally smart.
2) Okay, well it's your subjective opinion that you wouldn't want multiple colourations of Raptors - but that can't be taken as solid evidence that InGen might not. (I think we can all agree the real reason the Raptors look different is that the Producers of each film wanted something fresh and exciting).
3) An easy explanation for why we don't see any JP raptors in JP2 or 3 is that there are multiple populations of raptors living on the island and we just never happened across that group. Another possibility is that those were InGen's favourite result and so they were taken to the park while the other, less nice-looking ones (in their minds) were kept at Site B.
4) I live in a different time zone than you.

The T. rex did swim, grant said so after they got to too deep water. The T. rex used its tail to swim, but it probably couldn't swim anyways, just too dense and heavy. I mean thick dense not sauropod dense.
ReplyRex Fan 684Jurassic World ForumNew 'Villain' Dino for JP4?Jul 4, 2013
You're right. It did swim in the first book. However, it was not truly swimming. It was so big that it could walk on the bottom.

I hope it will be too, haha
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
I hope that the bonus round will be as good as this one, and I know what the two dinosaurs will be, but I will leave it as a suprise for all you people.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
Cool. I'll be sure to read em. Your stories begin on the same day my Clash of Giants ends. Convenient. Overall, I'd say that the battle of Tyrannosaurus and Alamosaurus was a successful one.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
Just because you brought my stories up, I am going to tell you that they will be restarting tomorrow. Unfortunately, they might not be as long, at least the first won't, but the story should pick up in detail very fast as I go on.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
Thanks. Little details like the dried blood on the fangs of the alpha male and the weather are just as important as the battle itself in my opinion. For your upcoming stories, make sure to include those details. Makes it much better. The first was good, but these can make the rest fantastic.
PS- Before anyone asks, I will not say who is going to be fighting in the bonus battle. That's a surprise ;)
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
You know, I was thinking about doing something like that for my upcoming stories, and now that I think about it, it did make it very dramatic. But I guess I was focusing on the dinosaur instead of the background. I did notice the thunder lighting part at the end though, very nice.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumWhat caused the extinction of the North American SauropodsJul 4, 2013
Yes, but this brings up the question, why did they go extinct in the south, I'm talking to you futurepaleontologist1
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
I get what you mean. On a different note, did you like the environmental changes? The coming of night, thunderstorm, etc. I wanted to have an epic, climatic fight and I thought adding stuff like that might help. Did it have the effect I hoped it would?
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
I completly understand the family attachment. I do believe someofmthe smarter dinosaurs had it, I understand that there are some theries on T. rex hunting in packs, and I understand if you believe that, but I think that the parents would raise their childeren to a certaint age, then let them go off on their own. Also, it would take a while for Alamosaurus to be bleeding heavily as you said. And for all those people out there who read my first comment, I mean you no offense.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhat caused the extinction of the North American SauropodsJul 4, 2013
I don't know about the whole getting eaten thing in the south. Giant sauropods were nothing new really. I doubt a bunch of predators, no matter how big, could wipe out an entire race of dinosaurs. Keep in mind that the prey always outnumbers the predator. Besides, this post is about the sauropods going extinct in N. America, not the south.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
The pack/family was a combo of my own creativity and theories surrounding the idea of Tyrannosaurus living in packs. For one thing, modern male lions sometimes stick together with their brothers, so I had T-rex do the same. Sauropods did have a tough hide, that's why most of the bites slashed the flesh, but did not crush bone. There were a few exceptions. Keep in mind, it took the combined force of both sub-adults to break the bones in the sauropods' shoulder. For one thing, this Alamosaurus was old and was not in peak condition. All in all, I just wanted this to be an epic conclusion.
PS- The T-rex having strong family attachments was added to make the battle more personal and intense.
ReplyMakaveli7Dinosaurs ForumWhat caused the extinction of the North American SauropodsJul 4, 2013
Less food in the north once the Hadrosaurs, Ceratopsians and Pachycephalosaurs evolved so they moved south and got eaten by Carcharodontosaurid.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumTyrannosaurus rex vs AlamosaurusJul 4, 2013
Nice, but I don't think that T. rex would live with its brother, or have sub-adult children still Irving with them. They aren't humans after all. And another thing, sauropods would have a very thick layer of flesh surrounding strong boned, T. rex teeth can't even reach the bone. It might do some damage to it, but it is more like being compressed, not punctured. The first of the two needing a much greater bite strength.

I said nothing about Mongolia, but ok. Perhaps the giants of S. America had some connection to the ones in Africa. The dinosaurs of S. America and Africa have a lot in common. Carchar and Giga. Argen and Para. Spino and Oxa. Etc.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumWhat caused the extinction of the North American SauropodsJul 4, 2013
Rex Fan, you have to remember that in Mongolia, there where still sauropods, so this is only for North America. And also, how did so many large sauropods arrive in Argentina at the start of the Creatacious? And one more thing, the oxygen and heat content was lower in the Cretaceous than in the Jurassic.
ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumCarcharodontosaurus vs ParalititanJul 4, 2013
Do you mean that more than one thing of the series is posted, or what do you mean.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumWhat caused the extinction of the North American SauropodsJul 4, 2013
There are two other things that had played a part in the extinction. First, the formation of the Western Interior Seaway. This cut N. America in two. This would cause the environment to change. It also provided less space for the giant sauropods. Smaller ornithopods and ceratopsians had no trouble adapting, but the giant sauropods did. The other thing was new plant, flowers in particular. Perhaps the sauropods could not digest these, but the new herbivores could. Remember, the sauropods did reappear in the Late Cretaceous. This is represented by Alamosaurus. Perhaps the Isthmus of Panama had something to do with it. Or the fact that the Western Interior Seaway withdrew. There are a lot of factors that played a part in their extinction and eventual return.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumGiganotosaurus vs ArgentinosaurusJul 4, 2013
T-Rex's teeth are thick and strong, and are apparently for ripping out huge chunks of meat without falling out, but it is more accepted that they were for crushing bone.

It is annoying when it logs you off. That's why I don't make long posts anymore (I made long posts in the plot synopsis). So if you copy and paste paste it from something else, will we have the end of the series earlier?

That is a confusing one. The spelling on the embryo storage unit was off too (Tyranosaurus, Stegasaurus).

ReplyDeltadromeusDinosaurs ForumWhat caused the extinction of the North American SauropodsJul 4, 2013
As shambhala said, the sauropods where out competed by hadrosaurs, and just moved south, were they died by the hands of the huge allosaurs, who seem very good at killing sauropods. But the early Cretaceous was a decent time for sauropods in North America, the Iguanadons and hadrosaurus were still starting out, so not much to compete with.
ReplyDeltadromeusJurassic Park ForumRaptor ProposalJul 4, 2013
Ya, but how does that explain the jp 3 raptors are smarter. Frankly, if I were ingen, I wouldn't want raptors that look different in the park. And also, how can you explain that there are no jp raptors in jp 2 or 3, they came from site b to. Plus the fact that the snout of the jp 3 raptors are different from the first two.
Ps. Why are you here at 3 in the morning.
ReplykeeganwhJurassic World ForumHow Will Recent Discoveries Affect Jurassic Park 4?Jul 4, 2013
The biggest reason why the dinosaurs should not look different is within the stories themselves:
InGen was creating these creatures off of extremely old DNA fragments and developing them as attractions. They were designing them to look the way they wanted them to look - the way people at that time imagined dinosaurs to be.
Scientific fact is relatively unimportant in the light of this fictional genetic power that allowed InGen to design dinosaurs to their own specifications.
ReplyDeltadromeusJurassic Park ForumRobotics VS CGIJul 4, 2013
I think a good balance of both makes up for a great movie.
ReplykeeganwhJurassic Park ForumRaptor ProposalJul 4, 2013
Why is that? Lots of animals in captivity in zoos have a multitude of appearances. It's good to help guests tell individuals apart. There's no good reason why InGen would be against having several colourations of Raptors.
Replykikstar92Jurassic Park ForumRobotics VS CGIJul 4, 2013
Well they only use animatronics in the close up shots. If you look at the t-rex scene where she emerges from the paddock, the reason that scene worked so well was because they mixed the use of animatronics and CGI perfectly.
When you could only see the rex's head or upper torso, it was animatronics (think of the eye looking into the window/ the head breaking through the glass etc). When you could see the whole body, it was CGI (think of Grant holding up the flare/ the lawyer being eaten etc).
For some reason the CGI seemed worse in JP3 than it did in JP1 and 2. I guess the dinos CGI effects are better hidden in scenes shot at night than day time, and JP3 had more 'day' scenes where u can see the slight imperfections.
As for JP4, it's not about picking one use over the other, it's about blending them together perfectly to convince the audience that what they're seeing is real...at least that's my hope.

My guess, is that we'll receive a new video game (either genesis or FPS) New action figures, And with lego merchandising a bunch of stuff (they did do a few sets for jp back in like the 90s) We might see a jp lego set or two, we'll receive the usual posters and tees hats n stuff...
hmmmm...
OH YES something that would be really good for this slight "reboot" would be a sort of theme park in real life, like the island at IOA...
i think that would be really cool... we went to holly wood and rode the ride there... i was too young to go on it though... :/

Maybe another cool arcade shooter would be nice to see. Also some hats and shirts as well. Maybe some awesome posters as well.
