If they look at you like you're crazy, then they're the crazy ones.
Ok I guess youre right as long as my parents dont look at me like I'm crazy
...
You are NEVER too old for legos...
...
Never.
Awesome. Since I'm too old for legis ill get
my brother to get some
I'm going Carchar as much as I love Epanterias, a car char would be too much. I have 60-40 odds in favor of Carchar, it had the power and strength, while the Epanterias may use its agilty to out maneuver the carcharodotosaurus. And make it bleed to death. Once again 60-40 Carchar
You seem to have forgotten the two Stans fighting it pout athe the museum of ancient life in Utah. (Biggest Dinosaur museum in the world.)
Mine would be the two 40 foot long Stans battling it out at the museum I work for. it even made an appearance In JFC!
Quite possible. Also, did you see that teaser poster? It had a Raptor nest in the wheel well of Explorer 004 (the one Rexy pushed off the edge), and there was construction going on.
Does sound like raptors, however It could be the mosasaur and as people pass the tank their screaming cause you can hear screams.
Cool and all, but next time you could just add this to your recent discussion, kind of annoying hwen people post 2 consecutive discussions in less than 10 minutes, 3 hours alone.
I really want a Lego D-Rex, along with a Lego Smaug.
Sounded like Raptors if you ask me.
I'm going with Carchar on this fight, hope its a nice fight! My second installment of T-C:K vs K will be up shortly!
He surely sounds like he is excited. Not your typical just making publicity for the movie that is for sure.
Nice chapter as always. Looking forward to the next one.
Nice job DS. That's a pretty cool looking Spino.
I'd say 60-40 Carchar. It was larger, more robust, and had a heck of a bite compared to Epanterias.
I just think a 2 ton allosau would have a 4 ton hatchet bite
and that paper is very interesting.
Never saw this... Sorry for commenting late, but this list agreeable!!! I would have put The Lost World as number #2, though.
@S-P: Kind of agree? what do you disagree on?
Here's a pretty interesting paper done recently(2010) going into great detail on theropod jaw mechanics and bite force. It might bore you a bit, but it is indeed rather interesting!
i agre
Just kidding, good point. Guess first thing I should maybe learn about dinosaurs is bite force.
more or less....Allo had a pound for pound weaker bite force then that of a juvenile rex

Hatchet jaw function is one purposed because of this, but did allo really need a high bite force? short answer - no.
It had slicing dentition, and these were designed for cutting deep into the flesh of its prey, creating gruesome yet effective bites. These bites would lead to blood loss, ultimately killing the prey animal. So, Allosaurids had no need for a high bite force, as they had their own killing techniques.
Good chapter, hope to see more very soon.
I think a allosaurid would have a hatchet bite twice their weight
am I right??
Allosaurus fragilis is the only species that i know of that has had the hatchet bite atributed to it. Why? why not A. Europaeus? A. Tendaguruensis? A. Jimmadensi? or even the related taxa, like Yangchuanosaurus?
Granted, Allosaurus Amplexus would be more agile, but it is at a severe(4,000+ pounds) disadvantage. Carchy also has a more formidable set of jaws, with a longer reach to them( 1.5 meter skull vs 1.2 meter skull.)
Carchara is more robust and has shearing flesh bite.
Thanks guys another chapter coming tonight I am going on vacation so I may not post one everyday so I'll make up for it!
Epet is more agile and has hatchet bite.
i know, lol i had gone into that thinking the allosaur would be larger then the math showed it to be...was probably thinking of saurophaganax...i'll edit that first part out :P
Carnosaur.. You gave a size simeler to mine and we had the same odds. So didn't underestimate anything...
The fossil evidence shows epanterias is a decently sized animal(yangchuanosaurus sized or larger) Allow me to demonstrate...
Basing off of A. Fragilis, A fully complete epanterias skull would measure ~129cm(4.2 feet)
Greg Paul estimated 845 mm (33.3 in) for a skull belonging to an individual he estimates at 7.9 m (26 ft) long. From there, it is a simple matter of upscaling.
First, the 1:8 ratio
4.24 x 8 yields ~ 33.6 feet, which is near the maximum size thought possible for A. Fragilis.Scaling up from an A. Fragilis with a 33.3 in skull, we get an Epanterias measuring 40.12 feet in length.Using "big al" to scale for weight, the holotype for Epanterias would weigh 4/5 tons.
Still, What Epanterias is up against is a 7 ton, 43 foot long more evolved version of itself.Carcharodontosaurus would probably win this comfortably, something like 70/30.
