Carnosaur
MemberCompsognathusApr-17-2014 3:35 PMso plain and simple, tired of walking on eggshells when it comes to this thing.
So i made this topic.
If you state "mine is larger, therefore it wins" or something of that sort, your comment will either be deleted or out right ignored.
Let's have a fun, clean debate.
Let's begin with Paleontologically accepted size ranges for these animals. Not fanboy estimates. These are of course averages.
Tyrannosaurus - 13 meters, 7 tons, 17 feet tall(top of head)
Spinosaurus - 15 meters, 6 tons 19 feet tall ( top of head) 25 feet tall (top of sail)
Now...my personal belief is that Tyrannosaurus Rex would win this 6/10.
Spino just has that sail, that stands 6 feet off its back. An easy target for a attacking predator.
Of course...Environmental factors, behavior, etc. would certainly determine if there was even a fight. 5/ 10 times, no blood would be drawn.
However, when it gets down and dirty, Tyrannosaurus is more powerfully built, has those large banana shaped teeth, and has the highest recorded bite force of any theropod - that has been scientifically acknowledged -.
My reasons for Why tyrannosaurus wins the majority of the time, don't agree? let's go..
Let's have a fun, clean debate folks....go at it.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexApr-17-2014 5:29 PMI see a 10 ton max for Rex with an average of 6-9 or so PSI bite force as reasonable myself. The whole 15 ton PSI bite is actually a very recent study.

MemberCompsognathusApr-17-2014 5:29 PMThank you for the compliments Mr.Happy, theres no need to blow up about a friendly debate, but sometimes people aren't friendly and it's almost mandatory for somebody to stand up to them.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexApr-17-2014 5:33 PMIn all fairness, it was originally like that with you. However, since then, there has been a very noticeable change in how you are. If you were to change your profile pic and screen name, I probably wouldn't have recognized it as you. You get so used to things, and then they change.
401, sorry. It happens to bug me when people don't understand some of my references. In the future, why not look up some of these things I use in references. Not trying to sound like a jerk, just saying.

MemberAllosaurusApr-17-2014 5:35 PMWell, honestly, this is a Jurassic Park forum. Not a car forum. But I feel you, when no one understands my Zelda references...
But let's go back to Rex vs. Spino.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexApr-17-2014 5:39 PMYou are correct Something Real. Perhaps Spinosaurs as a whole and. Tyrannosaurs as a whole would have been a better thing to say.
Thing with smart cars though is that Europe's streets are small because they were made back when horses and walking were the main mode of transportation. Here in North America, we have pickup trucks that wouldn't fit on a European road, and then there are the ones with duals (dualies, twin tires, doudble tires, whatever you call them).

MemberCompsognathusApr-17-2014 5:42 PMWell, the Spinosaurs where the Megalosaurs, and they where very successful, then they evolved. The Spinosaurs lasted some time. Not as long as the tyrannosaurs, simply because they where specialized. That is good when it can be used, and is bad when it can't.

Welcome back, Fact Dude. I myself was expecting a blow up about the post, but i'm very glad it didn't come to that.
Hell, this post is to address those kind of things that make people angry...
12 tons and 15 ton bite force? pure fanboyism. 7 tons(average) and around 6 tons of bite force is more accurate in my view.

MemberCompsognathusApr-17-2014 5:48 PMYes, and it alsis an be bad to be not be specialized. If that's what you got, and you are able to take a wide range of food, but aren't very efficient at it, then of our screwed. If your able to take the specilized food, and it runs dry, then your screwed. Nature likes to screw us.

MemberCompsognathusApr-17-2014 5:54 PMspecialization was Spinosaurus' down fall. Climate change effected its habitat....and it just wasn't equipped for those changes.
Things can only go great for so long....Who knows how long Tyrannosaurus would have lived if the asteroid didn't hit? they were specialized in their own right..

MemberCompsognathusApr-17-2014 6:44 PMNope, nope, nope, nope. I made a pact with myself to never get involved in one of these no matter how heated or mellow they were. Sorry to disappoint. But I can't go and lose sleep(yeah, I lose sleep because of it) because I have no idea what the heck is going on on the forums while I'm not there. So, count me out. I've seen the ugly side of this debate. I'd rather not see it again.
