so plain and simple, tired of walking on eggshells when it comes to this thing.

So i made this topic.

If you state "mine is larger, therefore it wins" or something of that sort, your comment will either be deleted or out right ignored.

Let's have a fun, clean debate.

Let's begin with Paleontologically accepted size ranges for these animals. Not fanboy estimates. These are of course averages.

Tyrannosaurus - 13 meters, 7 tons, 17 feet tall(top of head)

Spinosaurus - 15 meters, 6 tons 19 feet tall ( top of head) 25 feet tall (top of sail)

Now...my personal belief is that Tyrannosaurus Rex would win this 6/10.

Spino just has that sail, that stands 6 feet off its back. An easy target for a attacking predator.

Of course...Environmental factors, behavior, etc. would certainly determine if there was even a fight. 5/ 10 times, no blood would be drawn.

However, when it gets down and dirty, Tyrannosaurus is more powerfully built, has those large banana shaped teeth, and has the highest recorded bite force of any theropod - that has been scientifically acknowledged -.

My reasons for Why tyrannosaurus wins the majority of the time, don't agree? let's go..

Let's have a fun, clean debate folks....go at it.

@MR. Happy. Sometimes it's more annoying when people put warnings before anything even happens than when there is an actual fight. So far there are no signs of any fight even starting. All of us discussing here are all mature.

Just saying.

How is it funny that a couple of people are having an interesting debate?

Yes, I do hope one day more remains of Spino are found...

Sorry. I find it annoying when people say something and give no reason for it. I understand what you mean by it, but it still ticks me off.

I didn't say anything without giving reason. I have no reason for my opinion on Spino, which is why I didn't mention my opinion. This is debate. It's practically a rule to not give opinion during debate.

Very well said Carnosaur about walking on eggshells when it comes to this topic. And Mr.Happy, what 401 just said is true, it does get annoying when somebody puts out a warning before any violence takes place, thats like getting a warning from a cop before (or if you ever do) exceed the speed limit.

These animals wouldn't have quick reactions times, by modern animal standars. Recently read something that stated large bodied theropods couldn't make a 360 degree turn in 4 seconds....and speed is certainly a factor when it comes to combat.

on to the overall speed of the animals...neither was a roadrunner from hell. Old Rexy might have averaged 15- 18mph...not entirely up to par with running speeds of Spinosaurs...but a guess is Spino probably could do 15 mph easily

I'm not sure why I find it funny to tell the truth, but it is. In that good "Hey, its a Raptor in a top hat and monocle" not the "I laughed when somebody tripped over thier shoelace.Observe changed my mind, this is a good discussion.

T. rex vs Spino, 50/50. They had thier ups and down. Each of them. Spino with long, strong arms as well as possibly being faster. Awe don't have enough evidence, but this is what I believe. Also with the t rex having a huge bite force 7 tons, and being very strong. Its an even match practically. We may never know, but we may also find the answer in a few years with a time machine. You just never know.

I know what you mean. Like I just said, it also gets annoying when someone says something, and gives no reason for it. 401, I understand, there is no need for you tp defend yourself now, because I'm over it. I get it, you have no reason in particular to think that, you just do.

Apparently SPino can run fatser than Rex.

@FAct Dude Thank you. I hope nobody tries to warn you either even though you show no sign of fighting.

@Mr. Happy- Thank you. If anyone ever wants my thoughts, it will and can only sadly be just a simple opinion. No evidence for it... Everyhting is just a simple...

Incredible, isn't it? We have a few ribs, a toe bone, a few neural spines, and part of an upper jaw and we can determine how fast the thing was. Four more years and we won't even need to research and we'll know everything about everything.

401, that says it MAY have been able to run as fast, not faster, but who knows... Nobody, exactly! And that is one of the plentiful sites that supports my theory of Spinosaurus being a good amount heavier than T-Rex.

@Mr. Happy I wouldn't say that. We used to "Know" dinosaurs were giant lizards.

There is a lot of "fact" out there. The truth is, we don't even know t rex was a carnivore for truely 100% certaindy. 99.99999999 ect percent, but until we find a living T. rex eating meat, we don't truly 100% know. We dthe now that dinosaurs existed, and thata all. (At least thats all I could think of)

Yes i know everbody's entitled to their own opinion, how become everytime i say anything about spino, you say the exact same thing everytime? Are you afraid im gonna make everything get outta hand again? Well don't fret, i can assure you i'm not gonna place anything i say as fact and overreact about anything, you've been known to do the same, alrighty?

Just looked at that BBC thing. Don't you think 20 tons is high balling it? You know, just a little bit? 20 tons for a biped is like a smart car weighing 4 000 pounds. Most of the weight would have to be in the power source for something that heavy to move itself safely. If Spino weighed 20 tons, the legs would have to make up at least 60% of the weight.

Sorry if it looked like I was trying to disprove anything, but just making an observation there.

Sorry about that, it's just your first few posts, and then the sometimes debate, and the plot hole debunked turned Rex vs Spino are still fresh in my mind, so I'm trying to avoid this. In all fairness, you surprised me not going all rage mode in here, so good job on that and keep it up.

Well, i kinda think 12 tons in body weight and a bite force of 15 tons for a T-Rex is high balling it :/

Right, it's just the first thing that popped into my head. Ever seen a smart car? It's literally a cardboard box with an engine. 4 000 pounds is about the weight of a Dodge Charger (1970) if I'm not mistaken. Ever watch fast and furious? The black car with the blower (thing sticking out of the hood) was a 1970 Charger. So imagine a cardboard box on wheels being as heavy as a 1970's race car.

Another thing I aks of you Mr. Happy is to use "Literally" correctly.

Seriously, it just PISSES ME OFF when people use literally and it just isn't, well, literal.
