MemberCompsognathusApr-07-2015 1:19 PMi love stuff like this; the childhood dinosaur( for some of us older folks that use this little forum) has been resurrected as its own genus, and not lumped with Apatosaurus. lumping has always been an issue with paleontology, so i'm glad this paper --> https://peerj.com/articles/857/
has been released.
honestly, the revision of Diplodocidae has been years in the making, and whispers and rumors of this kind of revision have been floating around the interwebz for years. I, for one, am glad to see this out.
Amphicoelias has also been recovered as an apatosaurine( an obviously very large one at that), which is always nice to hear new info on the dubious taxon.
here's an article on it as well --->http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/04/07/brontosaurus-back/25413671/
what are your guys' thoughts on this? lemme know down below!
