Isla Sorna, April 2015, 80 miles South of Isla Nublar
The sample inside Hammond's cane has already been extracted, and Dr. Wu is working on fertilizing an egg with it. "How's it going?" "It's going great John, should hatch before the park opens." "Excellent, once you're done here, let's get something to eat on Nublar." "Sure thing John, just give me five minutes." "You could take five hours for all I care." "By the way, we tested it, it's a T-Rex." "Excellent."
A few minutes later, the helicopter is flying away, and Dr. Wu and Hammond are in it, heading for Nublar.
The computer had malfunctioned in the lab, and it sped up the growth rate way too much. The embryo that was beginning to form in the egg grew rapidly, and when the shell broke, a small dinosaur stood up. He had scars everywhere, a section of his spine was exposed, and he was missing his left arm. He jumped down and started to walk around, rapidly growing in size. By the time left the building, he was already twenty feet long and almost one ton in weight.
Isla Nublar, twenty minutes later.
"John, how did the cloning go?" "I'm not sure Mr. Malcolm, talk to Henry." "It went very good sir, should be big enough to have in a petting zoo by the time the park opens." "How much did you speed up the growth rate?" "Twice what we usually do, John wanted that little thing cloned." "What kind is it?" "T-Rex, not sure of gender, we'll find out soon enough."
Isla Sorna, during the conversation.
Terrance was almost half his original size, and he was exploring his new home. He liked the warmth, and he liked the lack of competition he has found. He is confused as to why he is getting bigger so fast, but he's happy to be big again.
