Jurassic Park celebrates its 30th anniversary soon and to commemorate the milestone, Universal are releasing a new limited edition 4K UHD + Blu-Ray Steelbook box set... However unfortunately, it doesn't feel like Universal took much care with it. The box set which was recently unveiled showcases a severe lack of consideration and respect for the franchise's original trilogy - the collectible Art Cards included in the set feature Jurassic World renders, not even Jurassic Park artwork!
The Steelbook cover isn't even original artwork either, instead their graphic designers traced an outline of this statue, as our pals at Jurassic Outpost pointed out:
30 years is a major milestone and with the kind of legacy the Jurassic Park franchise has left on cinema, we would have expected more attention to detail and consideration from Universal on this presentation. Expecting fans to pay for a new box set, containing films they definitely already own themselves should require more incentives than a few Art Cards which don't even feature Jurassic Park artwork... Dedicated fans and enthusiasts seem to unanimously oppose purchasing this box set after observing the feedback online:
While we're thrilled to celebrate Jurassic Park's 30th anniversary, we can't help but be disappointed by this new celebratory box set.
Now that Jurassic World Rebirth has been released, check out interesting concept artwork from the film! You can also find behind-the-scenes production photos in our image gallery, here!
Jurassic World Rebirth did extremely well during its theatrical run, earning Universal Pictures over $860 million at the global box office! The film reportedly cost $180 million.
