As Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom nears the completion of filming, there have been a steady stream of leaks from the set of the film. While this article will attempt to shy away from plot spoilers, some of these leaks have been such that it could hint towards potential plot points. In this instance, the latest set picture was taken courtesy JurassicWorld2018 on Instagram. As it is not the place of this article to deposit plot spoilers, we will simply describe the potential uses for such a submarine.
This picture showcases a small yellow submarine, large enough to fit one or two people. This type of submarine is typically used for research purposes, and has a robotic arm or two attached near the front of the vehicle. Submarines of this type are regularly used for collecting specimens for later analysis.
A submarine of this type is small enough to be airlifted by a helicopter and deposited where it is required. A submarine like this may be used for a dive in controlled conditions, and would not usually be used in the open ocean without the presence of a large research vessel on the surface. Several other set leaks pictures have already showcased that much of the Island will be taking place on Isla Nublar as well. This may be the same sub that was referred to in our earlier article describing an 'Epic' submarine scene a few months ago.
If so, there are a limited amount of places that the Submarine could conceivably be used. There is the river, although using it in that current might be difficult. The most obvious solution would be to utilize the submarine in the Mosasaur lagoon. But if so, the question remains then what they would need it for. That, readers, may verge too much on spoilers to even speculate on these possibilities for what it may be used.
What do you think is the purpose of the submarine? Let us know in the comments!
