News on the Jurassic World sequel front has been hot as of late! Following the announcement of Juan Antonio Bayona as the film's official director as well as the recent news that the Jurassic sequel would film predominantly in the UK, today we have a new interview with Bayona where he has revealed that the title for Jurassic World 2 will be announced very soon!
The interview was conducted through a Spanish Television program and so the interview was conducted in Spanish. For those of us who don't know Spanish, we have the folks over at JPLegacy to thank for a rough translation:
- The film has title, but He can tell it yet ...
- He and Colin have always had a very nice communication, they do not know in person, but have talked a lot, and Colin always told the hope that he has to write a movie for Bayona.
- He will have a meet with Colin, Frank Marshall and Spielberg to discuss details of the film soon.
- To make a sequel is more complicated because you have the DNA of the characters and the story, but you have to innovate and have something new to respect the above and satisfies the public.
- He don't reject WORLD WAR Z for JW2, but has simply been a coincidence, because WORLD WAR Z was beginning to roll back soon and he is immerse in A MONSTER CALLS.
- In a movie like JW has a lot of pressure and more with the success of JW1, but he doesn't scare for a flop at the box office, he does not movies for the money but looking for a quality film and good result. He considers himself a "normal" spectator and he wants to make a movie that usually likes to "normal" spectators want.
- It would be very easy record the movie in Spain, but Spain taxation in places not easy. It is possible to record in the Canary Islands (Spain) which is where World War Z. But is more easy to record Malta or Budapest than in Spanish territory.
Many fans are already speculating that the title for Jurassic World 2 will be a hybrid title in order to benefit licensing agreements with merchandise distributors. However, it seems we won't need to wait long for the official title to be revealed. Make sure to keep it locked to Scified for the latest news on Jurassic World 2!
