UPDATED: Film crew test positive for Covid-19 first day back filming Jurassic World Dominion

UPDATE: Since these reports began circulating, Universal have released an official statement to our friends at Jurassic Outpost, denying any claims that film crew contracted Covid-19 as of July 10th, 2020. They confirm Jurassic World Dominion is on its 5th day of filming and things are running smoothly!

We're unsure why sources would have claimed to The Sun film crew fell prey to the Coronavirus, but we're thrilled to hear everyone is safe and that this original report was untrue.

Original report follows:

Jurassic World Dominion resumed production yesterday at Pinewood Studios in England after a 4-month hiatus caused by the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic lockdown. Jurassic World Dominion was the first Hollywood blockbuster to resume operations following the lockdown as well, but unfortunately it appears Universal may have jumped the gun.

In a new report by the The Sun, a number of film crew have tested positive for the contagious Covid-19 virus on day 1! It is worth noting that reportedly, none of the film's cast have been affected yet however but still, the presence of Covid-19 on set has slowed Jurassic World 3's momentum yet again.

A source told The Sun the following:

This was the last thing anyone expected so soon. Everyone was excited about getting things back up and running on set but this has totally derailed that.

There are millions and millions of pounds at stake here. Nobody wants more long delays.

Universal were not taking any risks in preparing to resume production, having employed mass testing protocols and enforcing personal protective measures for all staff and cast. But it appears despite their best efforts, the Coronavirus has remained vigilant.

As news of Dominion's production continues to release we'll keep you posted on how everything goes.
