Bad news for fans of practical effects - the sequel to this year's top earning blockbuster, Jurassic World will not feature any animatronic Dinosaurs. Not just Jurassic World 2, but Jurassic World 3 and any future Jurassic films, according to Nick Robinson who played Zach in the latest film this summer, will take advantage of the practical effects which made this franchise so iconic in the first place.
During an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Nick is quoted as saying: "I think that's going to be one of the last animatronics they ever make actually." Co-star Ty Simkpins who played Nick's brother, Gray in Jurassic World confirmed Nick's comment by adding: "Yeah, that's what Colin said, last dinosaur animatronic."
Despite having impressive CGI, nothing really beats a physical Dinosaur on-set. It's what made the original Jurassic Park so realistic, so it comes as a disappointment to know that none of the future Jurassic sequels will feature that iconic use of technology and practical effects.
