Hold on to your butts! The Jurassic World sequel begins filming in approximately 4 months! With a darker tone than the first Jurassic World and a focus to better connect itself with the original Jurassic Park trilogy, Jurassic World 2 will commence filming in March of 2017!
While speaking to ComingSoon.net, director Juan Antonio Bayona revealed the filming start date, as well as touched briefly on Jurassic World 2's development process - regarding the film as a collaborative filmmaker experience between himself, Trevorrow, Spielberg and Marshall, the film's producers.
Every story is different and you need to find the depth of every story and try to express it on the screen. The Jurassic World sequel is a more collaborative filmmaker experience, not only with Colin Trevorrow, but also with Steven [Spielberg] and with Frank Marshall. It’s their baby as much as it is mine. It’s about sharing views and working together to bring the story to life. But, at the same time, the way I face telling a story is to find something very personal. I think there will be plenty of myself also in the film.

Recently today also, Bayona mentioned that Jurassic World 2 would be taking the story in an unexpected direction. What this means exactly is unknown, but he did acknowledge the fact that Jurassic World 2 would be connecting more closely to the original Jurassic Park trilogy than Jurassic World did - insinuating that it will act more like a "Jurassic Park 5", than a "Jurassic World 2".
