Jurassic World 2 begins the casting process!

Jurassic World 2 has recently made headlines due to Director JA Bayona's recent comments regarding the movies tone. However, it appears that soon casting decisions will be finalized for the production. A casting breakdown for a child role was revealed via the casting website "Actors Access":

She is a young girl around 9 years of age. The girl playing “Lucy” must be at least 9 years of age by February 2017, but cannot be over 10 years old.  She must be a sensitive and clever actress capable of handling long and complex scenes.  Lucy must be able to handle a range of emotions from tender moments with her father, to anxiety, bravery, and shock.

This role represents a huge and exciting opportunity for a young actress to play a significant role in a major Hollywood blockbuster.

The website mentions as well that the production will shoot in the UK from February 2017 to June 2017, a shoot of five months. The casting calls all take place under the working title for Jurassic World 2. So far no mention of how long the film shoot in Hawaii would take place.

The character details here are very significant as well. The role being described is of a 'significant role', which may indicate at the very least, a supporting role in the film. Her parents will also play at least some role as well, as she will be developed enough that the audience will care about her. 

The phrasing of a 'long and complex' role along with the range of actions from tender moments to being shocked may also imply that this role at least involves some interaction with the dinosaurs somewhere in the plot line. It should be noted for now that the name 'Lucy' may be a placeholder for the actual character name.

Jurassic World 2 will be released on June 22, 2018. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt will return to play Claire Dearing and Owen Grady in the film. The movie will be directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, who has directed 'The Impossible.
