Jurassic Park trilogy gets cringeworthy new Blu-Ray covers

Universal Pictures have unveiled a series of new Blu-Ray box art covers for the original Jurassic Park trilogy and it's left us scratching our heads as to why. The redesign of the films' logos are clearly an attempt to acclimate the original series with the aesthetic direction of Jurassic World and its own new trilogy, but unfortunately the artwork / photoshop work on these covers are rather cringeworthy. We actually thought these were fan renders, not official material from Universal, but indeed it is in fact authentic artwork:

Besides the logo redesign it's clear Universal are attempting to re-brand the iconic Jurassic Park films in light of Jurassic World and its upcoming sequel Fallen Kingdom. Unfortunately, the direction they seem to be taking is not having the intended effect with its fan base.

What do you think of these new covers? Like them? Hate them? Let us know in the comments section!

Now that Jurassic World Rebirth has been released, check out interesting concept artwork from the film! You can also find behind-the-scenes production photos in our image gallery, here!

Jurassic World Rebirth did extremely well during its theatrical run, earning Universal Pictures over $860 million at the global box office! The film reportedly cost $180 million.

Hmm, I don't know what to say.

I felt like something's missing in the covers so I added it.

They aren't TOO bad.  I own all the films on Blu-ray already, so it's not like I'll be personally affected by having to buy these versions and have to look at them every time I need my Jurassic Park fix.  No skin off my teeth, as it were.

However, one thing is certain...

@Dark Nebula is a genius. ;)

I think that they look awfully!

Never try to rebrand something that's iconic, that's a stupid move to do.

Also, pterosaurs for the third film? Really? And the Spino logo removed? Why not edit it entirely from the film?

I feel like the guy who did these has a problem with the words: quality, authentic, clarity and possibly spinosaurus.
