Jurassic World's comic relief and likable nerd will sadly not be returning for the sequel. Posting through his official Twitter handle today, actor Jake Johnson answered fan questions concerning his involvement in Jurassic World 2 by saying "From what I hear, Lowrey will not be in JW2".
Currently the only confirmed cast returning for the sequel are Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. There is an open casting call for a young 9 year old girl named "Lucy", but casting for that role and many others are still underway.
Filming is expected to begin within 4 months, with production on Jurassic World 2 once again returning to Hawaii for an undetermined length of time and London, England. In terms of plot direction, we know Jurassic World 2 will be much darker in tone and will focus on emulating today's challenges with managing existing wildlife and Human culture.
