Gareth Edwards has been given the reigns on the currently untitled Jurassic World 4 and he couldn't be more excited. While speaking to Collider, Edwards expressed how surreal the opportunity feels for him and how he dropped everything to take the job. He considers Steven Spielberg's original Jurassic Park a cinematic masterpiece (he's not wrong). Going by his words and the fact he's teaming up with Spielberg, Frank Marshall and JP screenwriter David Koepp for this next installment, the new Jurassic film might be taking the franchise back to form with Gareth's unique eye and directing style.
Speaking to Collider, Gareth said:
I was about to take a break and I started writing my next idea for a film and this is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in. I love Jurassic Park . I think the first movie is a cinematic masterpiece…so this opportunity is like a dream to me. And to work with Frank Marshall and Universal and David Koepp, who's writing the script, I think they're all legends. So I'm just very excited.
