It appears we may be going back to Isla Sorna / Site B in Jurassic World 3 or at the very least, will be seeing Dinosaurs from Site B in the upcoming Jurassic World sequel! Colin Trevorrow, who is directing Jurassic World Dominion just recently shared the following photo of a Dinosaur embryo containment case and looking closely below the InGen logo, fans will notice the container is clearly labeled Site B, Isla Sorna.
Site B is the second island InGen used to manufacture Dinosaurs for Jurassic Park. It was also the setting for both sequels The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3. Site B was considerably larger than Isla Nublar and hosted a wide range of different Dinosaur species which never made it to Site A. The reference to Site B on this container and the embryos within it tell us Jurassic World 3 will feature some Dinosaurs from Isla Sorna.
There's one Dinosaur in particular which reigned supreme on Isla Sorna once the InGen facility was abandoned - and no, it wasn't the T-Rex. We're talking about the age old rival, Spinosaurus.
Now, Jurassic Park 3 saw the dethroning of the Tyrant Lizard King in a disappointing upset where a Spinosaurus killed a juvenile bull Tyrannosaur. At the time Jurassic Park 3 came out, this clash of titans was the heavyweight match-up we were all waiting to see, but ultimately left fans upset at the loss their beloved franchise icon endured.
Could Trevorrow be hinting at a re-match between Spinosaurus and the T-Rex?! It's a bit of a stretch, we know, but what an incredible culmination would that set up to be! The third film of a new Jurassic franchise, lining up in parallel to Jurassic Park 3. We've got Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler back as well, just like JP3. There aren't any new genetic Dinosaurs like the Indominus Rex or Indoraptor (that we know of yet), so a re-match between two iconic franchise carnivores isn't completely out of the question.
T-Rex vs. Spinosaurus round 2 would be the ultimate fan service if that is what Trevorrow is planning. We can only speculate for the moment, but let us know in the comments if you would like to see the Rex get her redemption against the Spinosaurus in Jurassic World Dominion!
