I guess 9tons would be the max extreme, composed by old bucks who don't stop from growing. :)
I definitely think 7-9 tons is reasonable thinking how little we know about this awesome animal.
Also, DinoSteve do you guys plan to more dinosaurs in this format? If so (if you can answer this) what dinosaur do you guys plan to do next? ;)
Wow it's so wired Icause I normally here it being 11 tons and up to 14 tons. I don't kno what dot believe anymore. Bit I go with 10 tons on average.
I ussualy put it at 7-8 tons. 8 tons is a bit of a push though IMO.
Ok, that's fine DinoSteve. I ussualy estimate it a bit higher then 6 tons but, not as high as 9 tons but, that's just me.
Catzilla, it's a bit inclined, just for an artistic reason :)
I don't exclude it could walk on all four, I actually think that could have been likely. But the posture is just from an artistic point of view :)
ANd HHP, NatGeo can be reliable until a certain point (their marimade flick for example - pftt). I think, such a long creature could weigh 7-9 tons, also considering the sail (not the 20t+ monster some consider anyway). Flesh weighs no matter what. So 6 tons is a tad too low, but still likely at some extremes.
We found like three neural spines and a part of a jaw. We will never know its size or weight hpp
And prehsitoric ones... Don't forget paul sereno was the guy who actually estimated the weight.
Pretty reliable for modern day animals HPP.
National geographic puts it at 6 tons. There ussualy, pretty reliable.
They orobably could walk on all flours at times.
What i meant whas its posture, he looks like if he whas walking on all four's
We don't know how much it weighed in real life HPP.
What do you mean Catzilla? :)
Only constructive criticizm would help.
Also, I'd lower the weight a bit. As National geographic has put it at a weight of 6 tons.
Wow, that's amazing! Can't wait for more dinosaurs in this format!
;) I only do it for you own good, it is not a little mistake is the name of a country, and I bet you'll never forget it again. sorry for the time you've spent in geo class but still you need learn the right spelling of some words, tho.
It is fine, we all are always learning new things.
Thanks so much Paden.=)
Jurassic World Tour Guide did mention of a petting zoo so this may be very possible. Wonder if it'll gore visitors haha
Here's hoping for a baby stegosaurus
Oh, well that sounds interesting, thanks for telling me what the picture is.
it's about a scene supposedly shot with a baby trike at honolulu zoo for the petting zoo in Jurassic World, if it's true, we may get our baby trike scene that was omitted from the first movie
I belive Tyrannotitan would win 60-40. Not too much of an expert on these dinosaurs, so I willl just estimate with dinosuars...
CArnosaur...
You ready for a long deabte!!!!???
Good chapter, hope to see the next one tomorrow.
Link doesn't work for me for some reason.
The Jurassic Park franchise has made Spinosaurus this super agressive predator. I highly doubt they'll downgrade Spinosaurus. Even Speilberg said, "we wanted a bigger/badder dinosaur"
So that would be a waste
Oh yeah, the femur compared side to side with that of mapusaurus completely overshadows it in width. Other fossils from Tyrannotitan do this as well, but i'm not entirely sure this is a size characteristic or a species one..But overall, Tyrannotitan does appear to be more robustly built, while Mapusaurus is the pinnacle of evolution for the Carcharodontosaurs(at the moment any way)
@GMAN, yah it is actually scary when you think about it, I mean it looks funny as a drawing but in real life probably would be the most terrifying thing on the planet... *Shudders
Thanks!!!!
i will most likely start tomorrow
Yeah it's not working for me. What's it about?
Carnosaur did a pretty good topic on this. The conclusion is that Tyrannosaurus Rex grew(on average)11-12m in length, 16-18ft tall, and weighs 7 tons.
Now here comes the touchy part. The offical max estimates of Tyrannosaurus Rex is 13.3m long and a weight of close to 9 tons. That's pretty respectable.
Keep in mind that these are the offical chart as of date.
Tyrannosaurus is still in the Top 10 biggest Theropods. I believe it's ranked number 8.
Here are some updates; some old, one new. Spread the word of Prehistoric Kingdom!
