Nice list, though I am surprised Spino didn't make it. Not complaining, just an observation that I could care less about, as this is your opinion.

Sci-Fi King25Dinosaurs ForumOxalaia Reconstruction?

^ I agree. However, I think Oxalaia would be slightly more adapted to land, because it could've lived in a dryer habitat.

Rex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumOxalaia Reconstruction?

I could see it. Perhaps the larger spinosaurs(Spinosaurus and Oxalaia) were mostly quadrupeds while the smaller species(Baryonyx, Irritator, etc) were mostly bipedal, with Suchomimus being the cut off for size and stance(if that makes sense).

AllotitanDinosaurs ForumOxalaia Reconstruction?

Interesting. I personally think it was very close to spinosaurus' anatomy but I generally think it is bipedal. It is interesting to think about though.

I love that first Rex picture.

I don't see any reason it wouldn't be similar to Spino. It's interesting to think about.

EUSTREPTOSPONDYLUS - What a very compelling question you've posed! I happen to believe that the animals within the Spinosaurus family very likely followed along the same physiological configuration - it at least stands to reason, of course! I imagine these magnificent animals - especially Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus - being the undisputed lords of the lands within which they dwelled, much like ancient water dragons! There's little doubt in my mind that they could contend with and defeat any foe foolish enough to trespass within their domain! Thank you so much for presenting this thought-provoking question! :)

Alphadino65Dinosaurs ForumOxalaia Reconstruction?

I'm willing to bet that Oxalaia had an extremely similar anatomy to Spinosaurus, judging from how the African and South American creatures at the time were not only similar, but filled almost the exact same niche.

However, I'm sure there will be some differences.  Maybe a crest of a different size, or a sail that had a different curvature?  Perhaps even the legs were differently proportioned.

I am also sure that if they know what sells that they will be extending their merchandising to the JP trilogy lego sets as well.

REX FAN 684 - What a fantastic post! I greatly enjoyed the care you took in presenting the animals! Indeed, Theropods are still with us; their grace, beauty and mystery lives on within the more ancient birds with which we share our world. The Earth wastes nothing - least of all the traits that allowed its life-forms to flourish for countless eons. Thank you ever so much for sharing this interesting topic with us! :)

there might be a slight chance that people dont like it when i consider ceratopsipes a valid dinosar species, but i dont care in the slightest.

The raptors are more of A Security force, Is my understanding, An Extra pervision in the event of a break down, The raptors are Trained to *Probably* Kill escaped dinosaurs. (Mainly because in the trailer discription, There was something about Someone saying "We've come a long way in 20 years", And "We can make them faster, and better" or something).

JHAWKINS1987 - I agree whole-heartedly with you! The trailer's description certainly hints at some interesting possibilities within the film's scope! :)

Almost forgot, I'm a fan of Siats too. A 9-12 meter long, 2-4 ton hypercarnivore is quite something, not to mention the first giant carnivore found in N. America in over 60 years...

Don't worry Mystique. None of the main characters will die from the raptors. Why?...................................................Because the plot tells the raptors not to! Genius writing. <Cinemasins adds 100 sins for being sarcastic>

Reply
Mech RodanDinosaurs ForumFavorite Raptor

My favorite raptor has to be the Utahraptor. Why? Let's see. Their raptors. They have giant claws. They're quite large for a raptor. They're American. Murica.

It's not "trained Raptors" as in "sit down, roll over, play dead." That would suck.

It's possible that the Raptors associate the muzzle with patience or something, and once it's removed, all hell breaks loose on the first dinosaur they see (said escaped dinosaur for example). When all hell truly breaks loose, is when one Raptor figures out how to remove the muzzle, helps his buddy, his buddy helps him, and they all their buddies, because, after all, they are problem solving smart. Now that the Raptors are free, anyone they come across* is screwed.

*except women, children, and maybe Pratt's character, depending on how he treated them, and maybe Hamada, depending on how good he is with a gun. Then again, they killed Muldoon, so I doubt Hamada has much of a chance

Jhawkins1987Jurassic World NewsJurassic World Trailer Description Potentially Leaked Online!

personally i think the trailer sounds great.

the raptor being trained is expected. They are meant to be smarter than dolphins and whales according to Grant, so it makes sense for their brain power to be used to some degree. Just think if you have a raptor in a muzzle who listens to you, and then you have to go on a mission to kill an escaped dinosaur, are you going to go alone??? no ! u will take an evolutionary weapon with intellagence, the ability to hunt and stalk and now follow commands, possibly even protect u against another predator. i dont see the problem, sounds logical and bloody quality.

id love a raptor!

As long as i dont see chris pratt on the back of a TREX like a horse then il be happy. the trailer sounds class

Lord VaderDinosaurs ForumCeratopsipes runs the gauntlet

If I'm not mistaken, a Gauntlet is 10 fights, with a half hour of rest between fights, injuries do not go away.

Nothing survives. Not a Rex, not a Spino, not a pack of Gigas, not Ceratopsipes. Nothing.

Reply
Lord VaderDinosaurs Forumtop 10 dinosaur biteforces

I wouldn't put Ceratopsipes up there. Not enough evidence to prove its freakin' existence.

I doubt a Trike's bite would be that powerful as well. Where the Ceratopsians have a nasty bite is the small area the force is applied. It would be like pinching your finger in a car door. Doesn't have to be too hard, but God does it hurt.
