Theropods: The Apex Predators of the Mesozoic

Over the course of my studies, I've developed a soft spot for theropods(mainly large ones). They were just so amazing. We have animals that range anywhere from this...

to this...

and even this...

The theropods were some of the most unique...

and some of the largest...

land animals ever. Theropods ranged from tiny Microraptor to the enormous T.rex. We had "standard" ones like Megalosaurus and "strange" ones like Spinosaurus. Theropods were some of the most fantastic animals that ever lived. Nothing before or after them has ever been the same. These were the apex predators of the Mesozoic and some of the most successful animals ever known. In fact, they're still with us...

From Therizinosaurus to Ceratosaurus, Velociraptor to Giganotosaurus, Eoraptor to Tyrannosaurus rex, and everything in between, these are some of the deadliest, strangest, and most sophisticated animals ever.

Was this post random? Yes. Do I care? No. As fellow dinosaur fans, you all know how it is ;)

This post made me happy. Theropods were my favorite group of dinosaurs since I was in Kindergarden.

REX FAN 684 - What a fantastic post! I greatly enjoyed the care you took in presenting the animals! Indeed, Theropods are still with us; their grace, beauty and mystery lives on within the more ancient birds with which we share our world. The Earth wastes nothing - least of all the traits that allowed its life-forms to flourish for countless eons. Thank you ever so much for sharing this interesting topic with us! :)

Theropods have always been my favorite dinosaurs ever since I learned about Dinosaurs! Theropods:
