Interesting...never heard of this...now seeing it is quite plausible...Imagine a carnivorous Triceritops!

ELITE RAPTOR 007 - I've always felt that this was a very interesting (and somewhat disquieting) hypothesis! Indeed, it would be quite interesting if scientists were to provide a little more speculative data concerning the possible carnivorous inclinations of the ceratopsians. Of course, if this theory is found to be true, I'll never again be able to look at my pair of triceratops plushies that sit on my bed in quite the same light! ;)

i think that it is possible, but don't just look from the outside, this conclusion is not cocreat untill the scientist test the DNA of a megaraptorids and a tyrannosauroid

GriffzillaJurassic World ForumThe new raptors

That made me feel a little better but nothing I have ever seen/read/heard has lead me to believe that this type of relationship is plausable but it's a movie after all. I mean in the first JP movie they alluded to how new born raptors think they first thing they see is their parents so maybe Owen has been with them since birth.

This isn't deleted trailer scenes, it's a test trailer made even before the official trailer. A staff or Wip recorded this. Some also have thought that it's the new trailer but it's neither. It's just a test trailer with unifinshed and stand in effects from the first movie.

There's a skeleton if that counts. The t-rex is kind of Jurassic Park's mascot. I think the third one received such bad reception that they are sticking with the successful formula. I wouldn't mind seeing new dinos but in all reality the island isn't big enough for two apex predators.

I bet the rail gets stuck going over the lagoon paddock when the park shuts down, and either falls in the lagoon so the Mosasaur can eat the entire train car or attacks the train car while it's stagnant on the rail!

Nano-Rex3Jurassic Park ForumThe T.rex and Spino: Why Were They So Close To Each Other?

I doubt that the film makers actually thought about that so don't beat yourself up over it but this is a good point, I'll just say that the Spino was depicted as a Dino-Killing Badass, the Baddest Super Predator of them all, so if it was in T-Rex territory it wouldn't matter cause it could take it on and it fits the dinos personality in the film so it just didn't care, theres probably a better explanation here somewhere but this is what i'm guessing.

Nice find there Carnosaur. Yes, tyrannosauroids aren't really closely related to T.rex, but are the earliest members of the group as a whole. Very interesting stuff overall. It seems that tyrannosaurs(being general here) may have been apex predators just about everywhere in the Cretaceous.

CarnosaurDinosaurs ForumMegaraptorids: Possible Tyrannosaurs?

Something interesting:

Abstract Megaraptorids are a group of predatory dinosaurs that inhabited Gondwana from Cenomanian to Santonian times (Late Cretaceous). Phylogenetic relationships of megaraptorids have been matter of recent debate, being alternatively interpreted as basal coelurosaurs, carcharodontosaurian allosauroids, megalosauroids, and basal tyrannosauroids. One of the main reasons for such different interpretations is the incomplete nature of most available megaraptorid skeletons and, in particular, the scarce information about their cranial anatomy. Here we describe a partially preserved skeleton of a juvenile specimen of Megaraptor namunhuaiquii that provides substantial new information about the cranial morphology of this Patagonian taxon. The specimen comes from the Upper Cretaceous (Turonian–Coniacian) of the Portezuelo Formation, northwestern Patagonia, Argentina. The anatomy of the new specimen bolsters the recently proposed hypothesis that megaraptorids are nested within
Coelurosauria, and possibly within Tyrannosauroidea. The most relevant features that megaraptorans share with tyrannosauroids include several foramina on the premaxillary body, extremely long and straight prenarial process of the premaxilla, incisiviform premaxillary teeth with a D-shaped cross-section, and cranially expanded supratemporal fossae separated from each other by a sharp sagittal median crest on frontals, which was presumably extended caudally above the parietals (not preserved). Information gathered from the present specimen allows to make for the first time a reconstruction of the skull of Megaraptor and hypothesize about evolutionary trends within Tyrannosauroidea.

Damn paper's paywalled, but if anyone thinks they can find it, here's the citation Juan D. Porfiri, Fernando E. Novas, Jorge O. Calvo, Federico L. Agnolín, Martín D. Ezcurra & Ignacio A. Cerda (2014) Juvenile specimen of Megaraptor (Dinosauria, Theropoda) sheds light about tyrannosauroid radiation.

Anyway, i guess this shook things up quite a bit. Here's what the
megaraptora family tree looks like nowadays
Megaraptora

Siats

  unnamed

Fukuiraptor

  Megaraptoridae

Eotyrannus

Australovenator

Rapator

    unnamed

Orkoraptor

However, we must keep in mind the fact that Tyrannosauroids
aren't Tyrannosaurids.
For example:

    Tyrannosauridae

Albertosaurus sarcophagus

    Tyrannosaurinae

Dinosaur Park tyrannosaurid

Daspletosaurus torosus

Two Medicine tyrannosaurid

Teratophoneus curriei

Bistahieversor sealeyi

Lythronax argestes

Tyrannosaurus rex

Tarbosaurus bataar

Zhuchengtyrannus magnus

Went off-page there; here's the link:

Siats would, theoretically, be the largest basal
Tyrannosauroid based on these cladograms, if they're proven to be correct.
Interesting stuff considering the time frame it occupied..

I love Spinosaurus Aegypticus- love to see it in this movie but I have to say I know it's better for it to nto appear since most of the population prefers solely overrated animals onscreen.

That, uh, being said, probably a cameo or at least a mention will be seen in the movie.

ALSO USING CAP LOCKS FOR DISCUSSION TITLE KIND OF MAKES IT UNAPPEALING.

Hmm...sounds very interesting, I will conduct further research on this.

I want to see if this adds up to their evolutionary branch. :)

Reply
Rex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMegaraptorids: Possible Tyrannosaurs?

Indeed. I don't know specifics, I've just heard the idea thrown around there and, technically, it makes a little sense. Basal tyrannosaurs have been found in the south, so southern tyrannosaurs aren't unheard of. And as I said earlier, many primitive tyrannosaurs have a lot in common with the megaraptorids.

LeviathanTeratophoneusFeroxDinosaurs ForumMegaraptorids: Possible Tyrannosaurs?

That's definetly an eye brow raiser, could be possible.

Let's just see what history has instored.

Fossils however need more correlation tho

Reply
Rex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumMegaraptorids: Possible Tyrannosaurs?

Also, if megaraptorids were tyrannosaurs, then Siats would be one of the largest tyrannosaurs. In fact, it might explain how tyrannosaurs took over North America from the allosaurs/carcharodontosaurs of the Jurassic/Early Cretaceous. Allosaurus rules, followed by Acrocanthosaurus, then the tyrannosaurs take over in the form of Siats, with T.rex finally coming next. Just a thought ;)

So based off of some posts, I am assuming T-rex will win.

- Redemption Tweet

- Main Logo

- Popular

- Team work?

But personally for me, I want D-rex to win. You're putting Fantasy vs Reality, pretty sure fantasy wins most of the time.

- Mega Hybrid

- Bigger

- The main focus or antagonist of the movie

Anyways, if it does make the T-rex fans happy tough, then let T-rex win. Cause Rex always wins and D-rex is just a fake dino, right? But seriously, JP3 was a good movie...stop hating just that scene. -_-

I agree with Gigadino. Ankylosaurus was probably no more than 7 meters long, 5.5-6 meters on average.

Those are older estimates. A new study in 2004 provided a much lower body size, of roughly 6 m long.

Spinosaurus was added into JP3 To spice it up.

It would've been Completely boring had they not added it.

However, Spino was more of an "Experiment" of Ingen, Intened to only be kept on Sorna to see if it would actually be worth Keeping at Site A. After seeing the Destruction It can do in JP3, It makes sense that they would Deem it way to Dangerous to Ever keep in a park setting.

We're talking about Bull shark Testoserone, Times like, Forty here kids.

There's no way they are THAT FOOLISH TO THINK,

"Why, Thats a lovely peice of Destruction, I'd fancy that I would, Lets make ourselves a Spinosaurus so it can go a reek havoc when it gets out, What a Lovely Idea!"

-Masrani Corp to International Genetics Company after Site A aqurization.

I may sound like I'm trying to be a Smart ass about it Becuase I am,--But it wouldn't really make sense for it to appear at all in JW. Perhaps maybe in JP5? I mean, We gotta go back to Site B eventually.

x_paden_xJurassic World ForumJurassic World Website Foreshadowss movie scenes ?

LETS TALK ABOUT THAT.

Okay, So, Acording to the book Cannon, Nublar is an UPTHRUST of Volcanic rock... The Volcano died out long long ago. It now has empty magma Chambers that Plauge the Island.

Seeing how the Original JP Was adapted from Micheal Crichton's Book, It's safe to say they are using that origin story for the island.

Aswell, Ingen Field Guide mentions Nothing of the Volcano, NOR IS THERE ONE ON THE MAP. (on the JW Map, Yes, On the Original Nublar map, Not at all)

So, What does this mean?

Nublar has been HEAVILY Modified For Jurassic world.

My point being the southern end of the island. It's been modified to be more of a bay, Allowing ships and Choppers to land.

Its purely possible that the Volcano, Isn't a Volcano and is apart of the Mountains surrounding the coast of Nublar.

There's also a Chance that this isn't a real mountain, And has been added in the map, Or has been Landscaped to exercise a Point that this is a prehistoric island.

It's Lazy writing for it to just Eat T-rex/D-rex, That's poor writing and a waste of a Movie.

No no, The Mosasaur probably won't do anything, It's most likely there for a Wow Effect.

Can't put all your eggs in one Basket, Hence why we Don't see D-Rex in the Trailer (A ton of Foreshadowing but no solid shots).

Plus, The Mosasaur is Contained in it's own Lagoon paddock, This thing is incredibly large, How is it EVER going to play an Actual Part in the Movie?

Thanks everyone for your responses, they were very fun to read! I would take the time as usual to comment individually but it's Finals Week and I am on a time crisis, barely found the time to make this discussion. :)

It was nice to know many others had the same plan for world domination as me. Just letting you all know, don't be surprised if Jurassic World Cold war #2 breaks out again... Remember, this forum has never had any wars, just COLD wars, the last cold war never actually started, remember...

Also saw some of you used Pteosaurs which is perfectly okay but remember, those aren't actual dinosaurs, they simply coexisted with dinosaurs, just to clarify.

That said this post was a huge success and hoepfully I can make another one soon, maybe even today!!! Thank you for all the responses, I really did enjoy reading them.

GriffzillaJurassic World ForumWill the T. Rex take on Diabolus in JW?!

Yes, they will probably face off. Considering that the D-Rex is a cross between T-Rex and raptors, as well as a few other things, I think they will use the two to defeat it. I think they will use the raptors to flush it out, the scene with Owen on his bike leading the pack, to out smart it. Then use the rex, the scene with, I forget her name, will use the flares to bring the Rex to the "battle field" and to finish it off. Maybe the raptors will soften it up for the Rex.
