Yes, but there are dozens of other animals that are ridiculous looking and exist or existed. Just because something looks strange, does not automatically mean it's fake.
Now, in this case, the Horror Mouth, Snake Eater, and others were.

ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumT-Rex/Spinosaurus comparisonSep 3, 2013
Tomcarterhestard, 2 things
1. T-rex seeing only movement is complete bull. It could not survive like that. The thought that T-rex could not see in movement is something created by Jurassic Park, not a proven fact or even an accepted theory. Tyrannosaurus almost certainly had binocular vision with a good visual filed overlap.
2. As far as intelligence goes, T-rex belonged in the same group of dinosaurs, the coelurosaurs, as Velociraptor, Deinonychus, Troodon, and modern birds. It's simply common sense that T-rex would be very smart. Spinosaurus belonged to a much more ancient group. A more primitive group. While smart for a spinosaur, I seriously doubt it was smarter than a Tyrannosaurus, a member of the smartest dinosaur group.
Thank You
ReplyScubaDinoJurassic Park Games Forumjurassic park the game 2: Site BSep 3, 2013
Judging by how badly the game did it is unlikely there will be a second game, on a global level it wasn't even worth a UK release for Xbox as they knew from US sales it would do no better, the graphics are very poor everything looks plastic and there is next to no game play to really speak of. I have played it and enjoyed it for its story and for taking us back to Jurassic Park but a few hard core fans is not enough to produce a new game.
ReplyLord VaderDinosaurs ForumT-Rex/Spinosaurus comparisonSep 3, 2013
Reading all three of your posts, I have a feeling that you don't really like Rex all that much. There is no proof that Rex couldn't see movement, and I remember hearing that it could see heat signatures (also unlikely).
This may sound like a strange request, but could you please state that these are your OPINIONS. I have mine, and you have yours, and we prefer to have others say opinion, rather than, "This is what I think, so this is what it is." We have dealt with others that were worse than you (no offence guys, you're great now).

Anyone with knowledge of how evolution and biology actually works should be able to look at this 'horror mouth' and be highly critical of it's legitimacy.
The anatomy of the teeth just makes no sense and, at best, would represent some horrible mutation likely the cause of the animal's death.

Just needed to point out that the whole Bumble Bees shouldn't be able to fly thing is bogus. Not really that relevant to the discussion, but it's an old myth that still causes confusion and is mis-used to justify other claims. (Source)

The guy who made these drawings actually did a good job. I checked out some of his other depictions and they were pretty cool. Too bad none of them are real :(
ReplyLord VaderJurassic World ForumGiganotosaurus In Jurassic Park?Sep 2, 2013
A Giga could beat a T-Rex, but it would take a lot of force for a Giga to be able to slash a Rex's throat. What i see happening is that if Giga got a good bite in, it could sever the spinal cord, or maybe after a long battle, it bleeds out.
What I'm saying is that Giga would not be able to just charge a Rex from the front, bite and scratch it a few times, and then wait.

It would be good to perhaps have a game like Far Cry 3 but its bases of hunters and the sort you must take out while avoiding being eaten by dinosaurs, your goal free the dinosaurs and leave with out being killed by hunters or the dinosaurs. story and free roam, also I like first person.

This is too cool. I used to be a Lego fanatic when I was younger. I was really into the Star Wars lego when that was hot - had entire CIS armies, would collect all the characters, trade parts and characters with friends, it was a blast. I think this Lego set would do great for all ages, those who would still play with it and those who would collect it and have it on display. Great find!

I will never say in a million (65-100 million years back in time accually) years that Spino is weak. I basically agree with DinoFights, but how did this become a Rex vs Spino debate? Basically, if a rex was to fight a Spino, then it could be over in a few seconds, or an hour, depending on who does what.

Its pointless babbling over who's right and who's wrong....
Also, The chance of them meeting would not ever... EVER happen, due to the: around, maybe (failed geography class here...) 2000-5000 kilometers in between them... Thus they would never meet...
But... I know I may have pissed off some FBR spino or rex fans here so...
who wants to see spino and or rex destroy the navy? (and y'know FBR4 season 3??)
ReplyDinoFightsDinosaurs ForumBad news for SpinoSep 2, 2013
Spino was probably smart, being the last of spinosaur evolution and spinosaurs had fairly large cerebrums. T. Rex's was proportionately large. T. rex was as smart as an alligator, Spinosaurus likely was close to that. Both had binocular vision, both were amazingly powerful. Spinosaurus was bigger, just as fast, had deadly sharp claws, a strong bite with deeply rooted gripping teeth, powerful arms and legs, an intimidating sail, and handled T. rex sized predators on a daily basis.
Tyrannosaurus had devastating teeth, a hyper powerful bite, better sense of smell, was slightly smarter, adapted for macrophagy of land animals and had a headbutting ability.
Good match.

Haha...!..not the T-Rex,Spinosaurus was the smarter dinosaur...!..just go and check up on some facts...the -T-Rex's vision was based on movement,so if we didnt move,we can easily escape the Rex,but not the Spino...we cannot stay like that in front of a Spinosaurus..!..It'll swallow us in a glance..!..he'll know that we're living or non-living if we even didnt move..!..and because the Spino also caught fish,it should probably have a higher IQ...catching fish is not like catching prey on land, catching fish is a 100 times difficult, and while catching fish, spino hunted land-prey too...it means Spino was smarter....than a T-Rex for sure..
ReplyTomcarterhestardDinosaurs ForumBad news for SpinoSep 1, 2013
Look,Spinosaurus wasn't weak,it was strong...and,it COULD HAVE defeated a T-Rex...maybe IT CAN do it,and i also believe that T-Rex was stronger and had stronger jaws and stuff,BUT...not the stronger one always win...!...probably the Spino was highly smart than the T-Rex and had so strong and sharp, huge claws...the battle's winner not always depend on strength,it can depend on the Battle environment, weight, atmosphere, height and even the LENGTH OF THE SNOUT...!...the Spino snout was larger and,it could cover more ground on the victim's body...so it may've had a tough jaw...who can say..?..maybe T-Rex or maybe Spino...50% 50%

Yes, but they're still overall lighter. Smaller chest, lack of ribs near the hip, slanted stomach, thin arms, thin legs, long thin tails, scrawny neck and skull is lighter than average body, powerful arms, powerful legs, thick and decent length necks, long ridges, powerful tails and a possible coating of crocodilian armor. Spinosaurs in general were rather robust, while ornithomimids were not. 12 t still seems like minimum weight for MSNM V4047.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumBad news for SpinoSep 1, 2013
DinoFights, thanks for backing up my point that light-weight dinosaurs existed ;)
BTW, no offence, but ornithomimids are a little different than spinosaurs in proportions and overall size.

Was any heavier than this

At length parity. A 17-18 m Spino weighed at LEAST 12.5 tons.
Replyx_paden_xJurassic Park ForumLego Jurassic ParkSep 1, 2013
Lego does many lego things with universal, I believe they would probably do this for the upcoming movie, and would probably do the next and previous movies... cuz y'know money...
also, they already have EVERY SINGLE MOLD for each dinosaur in the film, except: stego, brachiosaurus, dilo, spino (There was a mold back from 1990 ish that could be remodeled) and many more...
but what gives away that they have a 90% chance of doing this... is the fact that the raptors are scaled as they would be in JP, they're even called velociraptors... thus... JP legos....
Although the picture you showed us, isn't actually a franchised lego set, It is a fan made one, probably by the same people that did the big set table for JP a while back...

Theres probably more fan stuff, One thing that got me excited was they made a character trading card for muldoon (fan made) IT LOOKED REALLY LEGIT....
If you help vote for the set guys, LEGO will take it seriously and will consider a JP set/branch thing...

ReplyDinoFightsDinosaurs ForumBad news for SpinoSep 1, 2013
10-20 t is for smaller Diplodocus species, not D. hollorum, which weighed at least 75 tons. Deltadromeus is just very light and so is Bahariasaurus, which is either its closest relative or its adult form. At 40 feet a Bahariasaurus would weigh 5 t.
Spinosaurs weren't light weight though, and Spinosaurus would have to be lighter than Compsognathus, Troodon, Bahariasaurus, all the ornithomimids and even an ostrich to be under 13 tons. It would look like an anorexic snake with toothpick limbs at any less than 11.
ReplyRex Fan 684Dinosaurs ForumBad news for SpinoSep 1, 2013
Dipoloducus was 80-100 ft long, but weighed only 10-20 tons. Deltadromeus was 25-30 ft long, yet it weighed only 1-1.5 tons, 2 at the absolute most.
Light-Weight dinosaurs have been found. Spinosaurus may be one of them.
