@gojira thanks...this took a whole night of research to complete..along with my somewhat basic knowledge of these guys.
@mr.Happy, i had alot of editing and what not to do, decided last minute to add that in.
Most were certainly to scare the rival off. What that means is that Tyrannosaurs and Allosaurs were more willing to fight than Spinosaurs for example.
I didn't see that last part, but I agree with it.
Most bite marks found on Tyrannosaurs healed, which means that they were induced before the animal died, which means that they probably weren't meant to kill, but just to scare a rival away. Most bite marks that didn't heal were probably from scavenging since the T.rex was an opportunistic animal. I think that they rarely killed each other and when then in the breeding season, but this is just my opinion.
Aren't bite marks found on majungatholus(majungasaurus) thought to be acts of cannibalism? The same goes for tyrannosaurus i believe..(Cannibalism in tyrannosaurs)
Bite marks found on theropods do not simply indicate species were more aggressive towards one another, but the fact that we have found a minority of individuals. Surely, not all theropods were just attacking each other.
Another theory is bite marks found on bone is the product of scavenging, which circles back to the cannibalism aspect.
Many tyrannosaurus specimens have been found with the tooth marks of another tyrannosaurus, and those wounds had healed.
Good job. This all very accurate in my opinion. Good job again.
The highest theropod woud've probably been Spinosaurus (if we include the sail).
@rexfan, That's because i'm not close to finished. Y'all are gonna need to read back through it as soon as im done editing....i don't have word any more.. so unfortunately i have to repost and edit things..
Well, In my opinion, this should be stickied or something. It's not biased, it doesn't say anything along the lines: ' blabla was definitely the largest and strongest because...'. I like it.
Good job on this if you ask me. If this was from someone who has no clue what they're taking about, I probably would have asked if they were testing me. Good job again.
No offense, but this looks nearly identical to Wikipedia :/
Great chapter. I wonder what will happen after the events of 1993.
I agree This kind of thing shows that combat may have been a last resort for ceratosaurs, spinosaurs, etc. while tyrannosaurs and allosaurs were ready to do battle at any second.
And I know what you're saying MrHappy ;)
Interesting. At the same time as showing how aggressive a theropod is, it could show which theropods were designed to fight and hunt dangerous prey because if there are healed wounds from the same species on it, than the species as a whole probably would hunt something dangerous.
Sorry if the wording is akward.
That might be why Allosaurus was the most succesful theropod in late jurassic Europe/America. While it wasn't as powerful as a Torovsaurus for example, it would've possible gone out of it's way to attack something larger or equally sized, simply to keep the population down and for an animal that lives in packs it would be fairly easy to defeat animals multiple times it's size.
It's too damn early to kill him, not that I kill him. Curiosity killed the cat, but the 7 ton sub adult Rex was annoyed. Chapter 20 has an encounter with a high voltage fence that doesn't turn out too well for one side.
Let's face it, we've dealt with their bullshit long enough. It's been said before and it will be said again, but we always try to avoid the situation and try to avoid offending them, but once we do, it's no holds barred and they say whatever the f*ck they want.
Nice. Good thing Terrance isn't a cat because curiousity killed the cat, haha.
Exactly. Some even think our calling him The Pharoah was just to shut them up. Rarely are they ever pleased. I had a fight between Spino and Aegyptosaurus a while ago and he won. Guess what! People were still complaining. Like I said, do what you want and make them deal with it.
Never though of that. The only thing worse than Spino being eliminated by Rex is Spino being eliminated by a smaller Tyrannosaur. Even if Spino did get past round 1, he's screwed in round 2 with theropods like Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus being in the series.
Even if Spino did win, it would have to be by a landslide, otherwise it's just making Spino look like a wimp and it got lucky.
Cool, I was rooting for Lophostropheus.
Nice fight. I was rooting for Tarbosaurus.
I agree. If you wanna post something about Rex vs Spino, keep it to your fansite. We've had enough of it on the main forums.
The thing is MrHappy, no matter who you have Spino go against, someone's gonna be ticked if he loses. The only way to please the Spino Fanboys is to have it win the entire thing. Something tells me you wouldn't want that. Have your lineup as is and they can deal with it if they don't like it.
actually, dave has a fair argument. Only so much weight can be placed on two legs, 12-15 ton ssounds about right. The 20 ton estimate for spino was bull, i hope you know..
And then a war after the movie as well if Rex comes back and Spino isn't mentioned and people will be like "Hey, why wasn't Spinosaurus in there? Spinosaurus is way better than T-Rex. Haven't you morons watched Jurassic Park 3 and Monsters Resurected? Spinosaurus is a killing machine......." and the list of BS goes on and on and on.
I think that there will be another war, probably once the first trailer is out. Because then a lot of people are going to join the forum, which automatically means more posts, which means a higher chance for a controversial post which would create a debate.
For now. I skipped the JP 1993 events and went right to immediately after it, and that's tomorrow's chapter.
:( Terrance is locked
Thanks. Have you read Terrance's Story, Terrance's Story: New World and Thorn's Life: 65 Million Years Later as well? Just wondering. The original Terrance's Story is on my site as well as Sammy the Spinosaurus. I'll throw New World onto my site shortly.
Very good job the story is great so far! Also I have read your Sammy the Spinosaurus series and they were amazing as well. hope to see more soon.
I agree with you. Everyone including myself always start a fight about the topic and then something this little turns into a huge argument. I think we've had our share of Rex vs spino fights and its enough. I just hope theirs not amother major fight like this in Jurassic World.
first of all, welcome snipes into the world of Sci-Fi, my Name was Joe, you can call me E.R, i am 13 currently,
i am really loved the sequel, my favourite Dinosaur was Giganotosaurus and spinosaurus, i really hoped to see them at JW, also probably the Raptors and Carnotaurus, hopefully, probably also Liopleurodon.
I loved it, carnotaurus is one of the most anticipated dinosaur in JW, i hope they added also Suchomimus, or Allosaurus
Depends on the range and shot placement. A 20mm cannon is an anti-tank weapon, so a thick leathery hide, a few inches of muscle and then organs wouldn't be a problem provided the bullet slides in between the ribs or something. If it hit bone, the bullet would be slowed down sufficiently.
I agree with these, but unfortunately, unless it's stickied, it's gonna get buried in other discussions.
